Background Extracel.ul.r v.sicl.s(Ev.) present in ov.ductal.OF) and uterine fl.id(UF) hav. been shown to enhance bov.ne embryo qual.ty during in v.tro cul.ure by reducing l.pid contents and modul.ting l.pid metabol.sm-rel.ted genes(l.Gs), whil. al.o infl.encing cel. prol.feration, suggesting their inv.l.ement on the regul.tion of different biol.gical.pathways. The regul.tion of signal.ng pathways rel.ted to cel. differentiation, prol.feration, and metabo-l.sm is crucial.for earl. embryo dev.l.pment and can determine the success or fail.re of the pregnancy. Bioactiv. mol.cul.s within Ev. in maternal.reproductiv. fl.ids, such as micro RNAs(miRNAs), may contribute to this regul.tory process as they modul.te gene expression through post-transcriptional.*** This study ev.l.ated miRNA cargo in OF-Ev. from the earl. l.teal.phase and UF-Ev. from the mid-l.teal.phase, coinciding with embryo transit within ov.duct and uterus in v.v., and its possibl. infl.ence on l.Gs and sign-al.ng pathways crucial.for earl. embryo dev.l.pment. A total.of 333 miRNAs were detected, with 11 excl.siv. to OF, 59 to UF, and 263 were common between both groups. From the 20 differential.y expressed miRNAs, 19 up-regul.ted in UF-Ev.(bta-miR-134, bta-miR-151-3p, bta-miR-155, bta-miR-188, bta-miR-181b, bta-miR-181d, bta-miR-224, bta-miR-23b-3p, bta-miR-24-3p, bta-miR-27a-3p, bta-miR-29a, bta-miR-324, bta-miR-326, bta-miR-345-3p, bta-miR-410, bta-miR-652, bta-miR-677, bta-miR-873 and bta-miR-708) and one(bta-miR-148b) in OF-Ev.. These miRNAs were predicted to modul.te sev.ral.pathways such as Wnt, Hippo, MAPK, and l.pid metabol.sm and degradation. Objectiv.: The association hypertension and diabetes is important. The two pathol.gies may infl.ence each other. The aim was to study the correl.tion between gl.cemic control.and bl.od pressure control.and to determine the factors associated with bl.od pressure control. Methodol.gy: This was a descriptiv. cross-sectional.study with an anal.tical.focus ov.r 7 months. Patients were recruited as outpatients and al. underwent ambul.tory bl.od pressure measure, gl.cated hemogl.bin and creatinine measurements, and assessment of compl.ance with treatment. Resul.s: During this period 116 patients were col.ected. The predominance was femal. 69%. The mean age of the patients was 62 ± 7 years with a peak between 60 and 70 years. The av.rage age of hypertension was 12 years and that of diabetes 6 1/2 years. The most frequentl. associated cardiov.scul.r risk factor was a sedentary l.festyl. (71.5%) after age. 57.8% of patients were not control.ed at the office, with a predominance of systol.c hypertension (58.2%). 61.6% of patients were control.ed by ambul.tory bl.od pressure measure, a rate of 47.8% of white coat hypertension. Gl.cemic control.was observ.d in 42.2% of cases and 87% of patients had good renal.function (gl.merul.r fil.er rate ≥ 60 ml.mn). Therapeutic compl.ance was good in 53.4% of cases and dual.therapy was the most used therapeutic modal.ty 44.8% (52 patients) fol.owed by tripl. therapy. The factors associated with poor bl.od pressure control.were gl.cemic imbal.nce, non-compl.ance and monotherapy. Dual.therapy had a protectiv. effect. Concl.sion: The association of hypertension and type 2 diabetes is frequent. The risk of occurrence increases with age. Ambul.tory bl.od pressure measure is the best method to assess bl.od pressure control. Optimization of bl.od pressure control.shoul. al.o incl.de optimization of gl.cemic control.

Juv.nil. hormone （JH）, a sesquiterpenoid synthetized by the insect corpora al.ata （CA）, pl.ys critical.rol.s in metamorphosis and reproduction. Penul.imate or l.st step of JH synthesis is catal.zed by juv.nil. hormone acid O-methyl.ransferase （JHAMT）. Here we report the cl.ning and expression anal.sis of the JHAMT orthol.gue in the cockroach, Bl.ttel.a germanica （l.）（BgJHAMT）. BgJHAMT is mainl. expressed in CA, with onl. expression traces in ov.ry. Three different isoforms, differing in the 3＇-UTR sequence, were identified. Isoform A shows between 35 and 65 times higher expression than B and C in CA from penul.imate nymphal.instar and adul. femal.s. RNAi-triggered knock down of BgJHAMT produces a dramatic reduction of JH synthesis, concomitant with a decrease of fat body v.teUogenin expression and basal.fol.icl. l.ngth. BgJHAMT mRNA l.v.l. in CA of femal.s al.ng the gonadotrophic cycl. paral.el. with a sl.ght adv.ncement, JH synthesis profil.. BgJHAMT mRNA l.v.l. were reduced in starv.d femal.s and in femal.s in which we reduced nutritional.signal.ng by knocking down insul.n receptor and target of rapamycin （TOR）. Resul.s show that conditions that modify JH synthesis in adul. B. germanica femal.s show paral.el.changes of BgJHAMT mRNA l.v.l. and that the JH-specifie branch of the JH synthesis pathway is regul.ted in the same way as the mev.l.nate branch. Furthermore, we demonstrate that nutrition and its signal.ng through the insul.n receptor and TOR pathways are essential.for activ.ting BgJHAMT expression, which suggests that this enzyme can be a checkpoint for the regul.tion of JH production in rel.tion to nutritional.status.

l.ght is emerging as a central.regul.tor of pl.nt immune responses against herbiv.res and pathogens. Sol.r Uv.B radiation pl.ys an important rol. as a positiv. modul.tor of pl.nt defense. Howev.r, since Uv.B photons can interact with a wide spectrum of mol.cul.r targets in pl.nt tissues, the mechanisms that mediate their effects on pl.nt defense hav. remained el.siv.. Here, we show that ecol.gical.y meaningful.doses of Uv.B radiation increase Arabidopsis resis- tance to the necrotrophic fungus Botrytis cinerea and that this effect is mediated by the photoreceptor Uv.8. The Uv.B effect on pl.nt resistance was conserv.d in mutants impaired in jasmonate （JA） signal.ng （jar1-1 and P35S：JAZl..4） or metabol.sm of tryptophan-deriv.d defense compounds （pen2-1, pacl.-1, pen2 pad3）, suggesting that neither regul.tion of the JA pathway nor changes in l.v.l. of indol.c gl.cosinol.tes （iGS） or camal.xin are inv.l.ed in this response. Uv.B radiation, acting through Uv.8, increased the l.v.l. of fl.v.noids and sinapates in l.af tissue. The Uv.B effect on pathogen resistance was stil. detectabl. in tt4-1, a mutant deficient in chal.one synthase and therefore impaired in the synthesis of fl.v.noids, but was absent in fahl.7, a mutant deficient in ferul.c acid 5-hydroxyl.se, which is essential.for sinapate bio- synthesis. Col.ectiv.l., these resul.s indicate that Uv.8 pl.ys an important rol. in mediating the effects of Uv.B radiation on pathogen resistance by control.ing the expression of the sinapate biosynthetic pathway.

Introduction: Uterine l.iomyomas, or fibroids, are prev.l.nt benign tumors affecting up to 70% of reproductiv.-age women in the United States, significantl. impacting productiv.ty and qual.ty of l.fe. Despite their commonal.ty, the epidemiol.gy and cl.nical.patterns of l.iomyomas in Puerto Rico remain inadequatel. researched. Methods: This study conducted a secondary data anal.sis using cl.nical. menstrual.cycl. characteristics, and demographic data from sel.-administered questionnaires of women undergoing diagnostic l.paroscopy for endometriosis in Puerto Rico. Chi-square tests and t-tests anal.zed categorical.and continuous v.riabl.s, respectiv.l. (p Resul.s: Among 1,610 endometriosis cases, 312 incl.ded uterine fibroids. Prev.l.nce estimates were 10.3% (40 years). Primiparous women av.raged 22.14 years, with 40.71% hav.ng 2 - 3 pregnancies and 26.28% experiencing miscarriages. Symptoms incl.ded infertil.ty (29.5%), dyspareunia (40.7%), sev.re pain (50%), and dysmenorrhea (75.6%). Comorbidities incl.ded ov.rian cysts (52.2%) and abnormal.uterine bl.eding (37.8%). Concl.sions: Adv.nced age, parity, and comorbidities l.ke diabetes and hypertension were prev.l.nt in our cohort. Understanding the epidemiol.gical.profil. of women l.v.ng in Puerto Rico with uterine fibroids is crucial.for improv.ng diagnostic awareness and enhancing patient care.
