Air-side economizers are increasingl. used to take advantage of“free-cool.ng”in data centers with the intent of reducing the carbon footprint of buil.ings.However,they can introduce outdoor pol.utants to indoor environment of data centers and cause corrosion damage to the information technol.gy equipment.To eval.ate the rel.abil.ty of information technol.gy equipment under various thermal.and air-pol.ution conditions,a mechanistic model.based on mul.i-ion transport and chemical.reactions was devel.ped.The model.was used to predict Cu corrosion caused by Cl.(2)-containing pol.utant mixtures.It al.o accounted for the effects of temperature(25℃and 28℃),rel.tive humidity(50%,75%,and 95%),and synergism.It al.o identified higher air temperature as a corrosion barrier and higher rel.tive humidity as a corrosion accel.rator,which agreed wel. with the experimental.resul.s.The average root mean square error of the prediction was 13.7Å.The model.can be used to eval.ate the thermal.guidel.ne for data centers design and operation when Cl.(2)is present based on pre-establ.shed acceptabl. risk of corrosion in data centers’environment.

A set of co-doped(Tb^(3+)/Dy^(3+))l.thium zinc borate(l.B)gl.sses were devel.ped by mel. quenching.The structural.eval.ation was performed for synthesized gl.ssy matrices.The Dy^(3+)and Tb^(3+)individual.y doped gl.sses exhibit intense yel.ow and green l.minescence bands at 575 nm(^(4)F_(9/2)→^(6)H_(13/2))and543 nm(^(5)D_(4)→^(7)F_(5)),respectivel..The sensitization effect of Dy^(3+)on Tb^(3+)was anal.zed by increasing the Tb^(3+)content with respect to the optimum Dy^(3+)content(0.5 mol.)in Dy^(3+)/Tb^(3+).The spectral.overl.y of Dy^(3+)l.minescence and Tb^(3+)absorption profil.s,Dy^(3+)/Tb^(3+)Pl.spectra under different excitations 352,362,376,and 385 nm,shortening decay l.fetimes of Dy^(3+)in Dy^(3+)/Tb^(3+)co-activated gl.sses,energy transfer(ET)parameters,chromaticity coordinates and their corresponding correl.ted temperatures al. hel. to expl.in ET from Dy^(3+)to Tb^(3+).At 385 nm of Dy^(3+)excitation,the optimized co-activated(0.5Dy^(3+)+1.0Tb^(3+)):l.B gl.ss displ.ys cool.white l.ght emission.The non-radiative ET from Dy^(3+)to Tb^(3+)is dominated by el.ctric dipol.-dipol. interaction and its ET efficiency was cal.ul.ted to be 63%.At the same time,reverse ET from Tb^(3+)to Dy^(3+)was al.o anal.zed.The shift in col.r coordinates from dominant yel.ow to greenish-yel.ow,green and white l.ght emission suggests that Dy^(3+)/Tb^(3+)coactivated l.B gl.sses can be a potential.candidate for UV converted mul.icol.r and white l.ght emitting devices.

There are few pharmacol.gic options for the treatment of cognitive deficits associated with traumatic brain injury in pediatric patients.Acetyl.hol.nesterase inhibitors such as donepezil.have been eval.ated in adul. patients after traumatic brain injury,but rel.tivel. l.ss is known about the effect in pediatric popul.tions.The goal.of this review is to identify knowl.dge gaps in the efficacy and safety of acetyl.hol.nesterase inhibito rs as a potential.a djuvant treatment fo r neurocognitive decl.ne in pediatric patients with traumatic brain injury.Investigators queried PubMed to identify l.terature publ.shed from database inception thro ugh June 2023 desc ribing the use of donepezil.in young adul. traumatic brain injury and pediatric patients with predefined conditions.Based on presel.cted search criteria,340 unique papers we re sel.cted for titl. and abstra ct screening.Thirty-two reco rds were reviewed in ful. after el.minating precl.nical.studies and pape rs outside the scope of the project.In adul. traumatic brain injury,we review resul.s from 14 papers detail.ng 227 subjects where evidence suggests donepezil.is wel. tol. rated and shows both objective and patient-reported efficacy for reducing cognitive impairment.In chil.ren,3 pape rs report on 5 chil.ren recovering from traumatic brain injury,showing l.mited efficacy.An additional.15 pediatric studies conducted in popul.tions at risk for cognitive dysfunction provide a broader l.ok at safety and efficacy in 210 patients in the pediatric age group.Given its promise for efficacy in adul.s with traumatic brain injury and tol. rabil.ty in pediatric patients,we bel.eve further study of donepezil.for chil.ren and adol.scents with traumatic brain injury is warranted.

The tumor microenvironment is composed of a compl.x mixture of different cel. types interacting under conditions of nutrient deprivation,but the metabol.sm therein is not ful.y understood due to difficul.ies in measuring metabol.c fl.xes and exchange of metabol.tes between different cel. types in vivo.Genome-scal. metabol.c model.ng enabl.s estimation of such exchange fl.xes as wel. as an opportunity to gain insight into the metabol.c behavior of individual.cel. types.Here,we estimated the avail.bil.ty of nutrients and oxygen within the tumor microenvironment using concentration measurements from bl.od together with a metabol.te diffusion model.In addition,we devel.ped an approach to efficientl. appl. enzyme usage constraints in a comprehensive metabol.c model.of human cel.s.The combined model.ng reproduced severe hypoxic conditions and the Warburg effect,and we found that l.mitations in enzymatic capacity contribute to cancer cel.s’preferential.use of gl.tamine as a substrate to the citric acid cycl..Furthermore,we investigated the common hypothesis that some stromal.cel.s are expl.ited by cancer cel.s to produce metabol.tes useful.for the cancer cel.s.We identified over 200 potential.metabol.tes that coul. support col.aboration between cancer cel.s and cancer-associated fibrobl.sts,but when l.miting to metabol.tes previousl. identified to participate in such col.aboration,no growth advantage was observed.Our work highl.ghts the importance of enzymatic capacity l.mitations for cel. behaviors and exempl.fies the util.ty of enzyme-constrained model. for accurate prediction of metabol.sm in cel.s and tumor microenvironments.

Introduction: Near-infrared fl.orescence imaging is a technique that wil. establ.sh itsel. in the short term at the international.l.vel.because it is recognized for its potential.to improve the performance of surgical.interventions, its moderate investment and operating costs and its portabil.ty. Al.hough the technol.gy is now mature, there is currentl. the probl.m of the avail.bil.ty of contrast agents to be injected IV. The aim of this methodol.gy articl. is to propose an al.ernative sol.tion to the need for contrast agents for cl.nical.research, particul.rl. in oncol.gy. Methodol.gy: They consist of coupl.ng a fl.orescent marker in the form of an NHS derivative, such as IR DYE manufactured in compl.ance with GMP, with therapeutic monocl.nal.antibodies having marketing authorization for mol.cul.r imaging. For a given antibody, the marking procedure must be the subject of a val.dation fil. on the final.preparation fil.ered on a steril.zing membrane at 0.22 μm. Once the procedure has been val.dated, it woul. be unnecessary to repeat the tests before each cl.nical.research examination. A check of the marking by thin-l.yer chromatography (Tl.) and pl.ce it in a sampl. bank at +4˚C for 1 month of each injected formul.tion woul. be sufficient for additional.tests if necessary. Concl.sion: Mol.cul.r near-infrared fl.orescence imaging is experiencing devel.pment, the process of which coul. be accel.rated by greater avail.bil.ty of cl.nical.contrast agents. Al.ernative sol.tions are therefore necessary to promote cl.nical.research in this area. These methods must be shared to make it easier for researchers.

Objective: The aim of the work described here was to eval.ate the rol. of contrast-enhanced ul.rasound (CEUS) in response eval.ation for unresectabl. advanced hepatocel.ul.r carcinoma (HCC) treated with tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) pl.s anti-programmed cel. death protein-1 (PD-1) antibody therapy. Methods: A prospective cohort of consecutive patients with HCC who received combined TKI/anti-PD-1 antibody treatment for unresectabl. HCC between January 2022 and October 2022 was incl.ded in this study. The patients underwent unenhanced ul.rasound (US) and CEUS examinations before treatment and at fol.ow-up. Changes in the l.rgest diameters of the target tumor on unenhanced US and the l.rgest diameters of the enhancing target tumors on CEUS were eval.ated. Response Eval.ation Criteria in Sol.d Tumors (RECIST) version 1.1 with unenhanced US and magnetic resonance imaging/computed tomography (MRI/CT) and modified RECIST (mRECIST) with CEUS and CEMRI/CT were used to assess treatment response. Resul.s: A total.of 24 HCC patients (23 men and 1 woman; mean age: 56.5 ± 8.5 y; Barcel.na Cl.nic l.ver Cancer stage C, 62.5%; 29 intrahepatic target tumors) were studied. Cal.ul.tions of degree of necrosis in the target tumors reveal.d no significant differences between CEUS and CEMRI/CT (44.5 ± 36.2% vs. 45.3 ± 36.8%, p = 0.862). As for the differentiation of responders from non-responders, the agreement between RECIST version 1.1 of unenhanced US and mRECIST-CEUS was poor (κ coefficient = 0.233). Meanwhil., there was a high degree of concordance between mRECIST-CEUS and mRECIST-CEMRI/CT (κ coefficient = 0.812). Concl.sion: CEUS proved to be superior to basel.ne US and is comparabl. to CEMRI/CT in defining treatment outcome for combined TKI/anti-PD-1 antibody therapy. © 2023 Worl. Swarming behaviors pl.y an eminent rol. in both biol.gical.and engineering research, and show great potential.appl.cations in many emerging fiel.s. Traditional.swarming model. stil. l.ck integrity, uniformity, and stabil.ty in swarm forming processes,resul.ing in fragmentation and void phenomena. Inspired by the shepherding behaviors observed in nature, we propose an integrated negotiation-control.scheme for distributed swarm control.of massive robots. The core idea of this scheme is that the robots at the boundary of the group herd the internal.robots to form an equil.brium swarm. For this purpose, we introduce a concept of virtual.group center towards which boundary robots herd internal.robots. Then, a distributed negotiation mechanism is designed to al.ow each robot to negotiate the virtual.group center onl. through l.cal.interactions with its neighbors. After that, we propose a shepherding-inspired swarm control.l.w to drive a group of robots to form an integrated, uniform, and stabl. configuration from any initial.states. Both numerical.and fl.ght simul.tions are presented to verify the effectiveness of our proposed swarm control.scheme.

This review updates the present status of the fiel. of mol.cul.r markers and marker-assisted sel.ction(MAS),using the exampl. of drought tol.rance in barl.y.The accuracy of sel.cted quantitative trait l.ci(QTl.),candidate genes and suggested markers was assessed in the barl.y genome cv.Morex.Six common strategies are described for mol.cul.r marker devel.pment,candidate gene identification and verification,and their possibl. appl.cations in MAS to improve the grain yiel. and yiel. components in barl.y under drought stress.These strategies are based on the fol.owing five principl.s:(1)Mol.cul.r markers are designated as genomic‘tags’,and their‘prediction’is strongl. dependent on their distance from a candidate gene on genetic or physical.maps;(2)pl.nts react differentl. under favourabl. and stressful.conditions or depending on their stage of devel.pment;(3)each candidate gene must be verified by confirming its expression in the rel.vant conditions,e.g.,drought;(4)the mol.cul.r marker identified must be val.dated for MAS for tol.rance to drought stress and improved grain yiel.;and(5)the smal. number of mol.cul.r markers real.zed for MAS in breeding,from among the many studies targeting candidate genes,can be expl.ined by the compl.x nature of drought stress,and mul.ipl. stress-responsive genes in each barl.y genotype that are expressed differential.y depending on many other factors.

The dynamic spal.ing characteristics of rock are important for stabil.ty anal.sis in rock engineering.This paper presented an experimental.investigation on the dynamic spal.ing characteristics of granite with different temperatures and strain rates.A series of dynamic spal.ing tests with different impact vel.cities were conducted on thermal.y treated granite at different temperatures.The dynamic spal.ing strengths of granite with different temperatures and strain rates were determined.A model.was proposed to correl.te the dynamic spal.ing strength of granite,high temperature and strain rate.The resul.s show that the spal.ing strength of granite decreases with increasing temperature.Moreover,the spal.ing strength of granite with a higher strain rate is l.rger than that with a l.wer strain rate.The proposed model.can describe the rel.tionship among dynamic spal.ing strength of granite,high temperature and strain rate.
