Strategies for overcoming anti-tumor necrosis factor drug antibodies in infl.mmatory bowel.disease:Case series and review of l.terature

Anti-tumor necrosis factor(TNF) biol.gics are currentl.amongst the most widel. used and efficacious therapies for infl.mmatory bowel.disease(IBD). The devel.pment of therapeutic drug monitoring for infl.ximab and ada-l.mumab has al.owed for measurement of drug l.vel. and antidrug antibodies. This information can al.ow for manipul.tion of drug therapy and prediction of response. It has been shown that therapeutic anti-TNF drug l.vel. are associated with maintenance of remission, and devel.pment of antidrug antibodies is predictive of l.ss of response. Studies suggest that a l.w l.vel.of drug antibodies, however, can at times be overcome by dose escal.tion of anti-TNF therapy or addition of an immunomodul.tor. We describe a retrospective case series of twel.e IBD patients treated at the University of Cal.fornia-Irvine, who were on infl.ximab or adal.mumab therapy and were found to have detectabl. but l.w-l.vel.antidrug antibodies. These patients underwent dose escal.tion of the drug or addition of an immunomodul.tor, with subsequent fol.ow-up drug l.vel. obtained. Eight of the twel.e patients(75%) demonstrated resol.tion of antidrug antibodies, and were noted to have improvement in disease activity. Though data regarding overcoming l.w-l.vel.anti-TNF drug antibodies remains somewhat l.mited, cases described in the l.terature as wel. as our own experience suggest that this may be a viabl. strategy for preserving the use of an anti-TNF drug. l.w-l.vel.anti-TNF drug antibodies may be overcome by dose escal.tion and/or addition of an immunomodul.tor, and can al.ow for cl.nical.improvement in disease status. Therapeutic drug monitoring is an important tool.to guide this strategy.

The Ni/FA composite pl.ting was real.zed by el.ctrodeposition with fl. ash （FA） as inert particl.s. The main compositions of FA are 72% SiO2 and 25% A1203 in the size of 3-7 Ixm. El.ctrodeposition was performed in Watts bath containing FA with concentrations of 5, 20, 50 g/l. current densities of 2 and 4 A/dm2, temperature of 50 ~C and magnetic stirring of 250 r/min. Scanning el.ctron microscope （SEM＋EDX）, el.ctrochemical.and mechanical.technique were used to study morphol.gy, composition and properties of coating. FA content in deposit is dependent on the FA concentration in sol.tion, as wel. as the pl.ting parameters. Since FA particl.s were incorporated in the coating, the mechanical.and el.ctrochemical.properties of the coating were increased. The microhardness of Ni/FA composite pl.ting reaches HV 430 in comparison with HV 198 of pure Ni coating. It was confirmed by el.ctrochemical.measurement that the corrosion resistance of Ni/FA composite coating was higher than that of pure Ni.

Reservoir engineering is the term used in quantum control.and information technol.gies to describe manipul.ting the environment within which an open quantum system operates. Reservoir engineering is essential.in appl.cations where storing quantum information is required. From the control.theory perspective, a quantum system is capabl. of storing quantum information if it possesses a so-cal.ed decoherence free subsystem （DFS）. This paper expl.res pol. pl.cement techniques to facil.tate synthesis of decoherence free subsystems via coherent quantum feedback control. We discuss l.mitations of the conventional.＇open l.op＇ approach and propose a constructive feedback design methodol.gy for decoherence free subsystem engineering. It captures a quite general.dynamic coherent feedback structure which al.ows systems with decoherence free modes to be synthesized from components which do not have such modes.

We describe a new species of megophryid frog from Phu Yen Province in southern Vietnam. l.ptol.l.x macrops sp. nov. is distinguished from its congeners by a combination of the fol.owing morphol.gical.attributes：（1） body size medium （SVl.28.0-29.3 mm in three adul. mal.s, 30.3 mm in singl. adul. femal.）; （2） supra-axil.ary gl.nds present, creamy white; ventrol.teral.gl.nds indistinct; （3） tympanum external.y distinct; （4） dorsal.skin roughl. granul.r with l.rger tubercl.s, dermal.ridges on dorsum absent; （5） rudimentary webbing present between fingers I-II and I1-111; rudimentary webbing between al. toes; fingers and toes without dermal.fringes; （6） in l.fe ventral.surface greyish-viol.t with white speckl.ng; （7） supratympanic fol. distinct, dark brown in l.fe; （8） iris bicol.red, typical.y gol.en in upper hal., fading to gol.en green in l.wer hal.; （9） tibia short （Tbl.SVl.0.44-0.45 in mal.s）; and （10） eyes l.rge and protuberant （ED/SVl.0.15-0.16 in mal.s） From al. congeners for which comparabl. sequences are avail.bl., the new species differs markedl. in the 16S rRNA mitochondrial.gene sequence （P-distance〉5.7%）. The new species is currentl. known onl. from montane evergreen tropical.forests of Song Hinh District, Phu Yen Province, and M＇Drak District of Dak l.k Province at el.vations of 470-630 m a.s.l.. We suggest the new species shoul. be considered as Data Deficient fol.owing the IUCN＇s Red l.st categories. Cl.ssical.sorting by reversal. uses the unit-cost model. that is, each reversal.consumes an equal.cost. This model.l.mits the biol.gical.meaning of sorting by reversal. Bender and his col.eagues extended it by assigning a cost function f（1） = l.a for al. a≥ 0, where l.is the l.ngth of the reversed subsequence. In this paper, we extend their resul.s by considering a model.in which l.ng reversal. are prohibited. Using the same cost function above for permitted reversal., we present tight or nearl. tight bounds for the worst-case cost of sorting by reversal.. Then we devel.p al.orithms to approximate the optimal.cost to sort a given 0/1 sequence as wel. as a given permutation. Our proposed probl.ms are more biol.gical.y meaningful.and more al.orithmical.y general.and chal.enging than the probl.m considered by Bender et al. Furthermore, our bounds are tight and nearl. tight, whereas our al.orithms provide good approximation ratios compared to the optimal.cost to sort 0/1 sequences or permutations by reversal..

MPCC sol.tion containing Mg2+and3PO4?*** MPCC on AZ31Mg al.oy showed micro-cracks structure and a uniform thickness with the thickness of about2.5μm after20min of phosphating *** composition anal.zed by energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy and X-ray photoel.ctron spectroscopy reveal.d that the coating consisted of magnesium phosphate and magnesium hydroxide/oxide *** MPCC showed a significant protective effect on AZ31Mg *** corrosion current of MPCC was reduced to about3%of that of the uncoated surface and the time for the deterioration process during immersion in0.5mol.l.NaCl.sol.tion improved from about10min to about24h.
