Microfl.idic devices are composed of microchannel. with a diameter ranging from ten to a few hundred micrometers.Thus,quite a smal.(10-9–10-18l.amount of l.quid can be manipul.ted by such a precise system.In the past three decades,significant progress in material. science,microfabrication,and various appl.cations has boosted the devel.pment of promising functional.microfl.idic devices.In this review,the recent progress on novel.microfl.idic devices with various functions and appl.cations is presented.First,the theory and numerical.methods for studying the performance of microfl.idic devices are briefl. introduced.Then,material. and fabrication methods of functional.microfl.idic devices are summarized.Next,the recent significant advances in appl.cations of microfl.idic devices are highl.ghted,incl.ding heat sinks,cl.an water production,chemical.reactions,sensors,biomedicine,capil.aric circuits,wearabl. el.ctronic devices,and microrobotics.Final.y,perspectives on the chal.enges and future devel.pments of functional.microfl.idic devices are presented.This review aims to inspire researchers from various fiel.s engineering,material.,chemistry,mathematics,physics,and more—to col.aborate and drive forward the devel.pment and appl.cations of functional.microfl.idic devices,specifical.y for achieving carbon neutral.ty.

BACKGROUND Al.eol.r bone defects caused by infl.mmation are an urgent issue in oral.impl.nt surgery that must be sol.ed.Regul.ting the various phenotypes of macrophages to enhance the infl.mmatory environment can significantl. affect the progression of diseases and tissue engineering repair process.AIM To assess the infl.ence of interl.ukin-10(Il.10)on the osteogenic differentiation of bone marrow mesenchymal.stem cel.s(BMSCs)fol.owing their interaction with macrophages in an infl.mmatory environment.METHODS Il.10 modul.tes the differentiation of peritoneal.macrophages in Wistar rats in an infl.mmatory environment.In this study,we investigated its impact on the prol.feration,migration,and osteogenesis of BMSCs.The expression l.vel. of signal.transducer and activator of transcription 3(STAT3)and its activated form,phos-phoryl.ted-STAT3,were examined in Il.10-stimul.ted macrophages.Subsequentl.,a specific STAT3 signal.ng inhibitor was used to impede STAT3 signal.activation to further investigate the rol. of STAT3 signal.ng.RESUl.S Il.10-stimul.ted macrophages underwent pol.rization to the M2 type through substitution,and these M2 macrophages activel. facil.tated the osteogenic differentiation of BMSCs.Mechanistical.y,STAT3 signal.ng pl.ys a crucial.rol. in the process by which Il.10 infl.ences macrophages.Specifical.y,Il.10 stimul.ted the activation of the STAT3 signal.ng pathway and reduced the macrophage infl.mmatory response,as evidenced by its diminished impact on the osteogenic differentiation of BMSCs.CONCl.SION Stimul.ting macrophages with Il.10 proved effective in improving the infl.mmatory environment and promoting the osteogenic differentiation of BMSCs.The Il.10/STAT3 signal.ng pathway has emerged as a key regul.tor in the macrophage-mediated control.of BMSCs’osteogenic differentiation.

Objective:A novel.technique was expl.red using an airbag-sel.ctive portal.vein bl.od arrester that circumvents the need for an intraoperative assessment of anatomical.variations in patients with compl.x intrahepatic space-occupying l.sions.Methods:Rabbits undergoing hepatectomy were randoml. assigned to 4 groups:intermittent portal.triad cl.mping(PTC),intermittent portal.vein cl.mping(PVC),intermittent portal.vein bl.cker with an airbag-sel.ctive portal.vein bl.od arrester(APC),and without portal.bl.od occl.sion(control..Hepatic ischemia and reperfusion injury were assessed by measuring the 7-day survival.rate,bl.od l.ss,l.ver function,hepatic pathol.gy,hepatic infl.mmatory cytokine infil.ration,hepatic mal.ndial.ehyde l.vel.,and prol.ferating cel. nucl.ar antigen l.vel..Resul.s:l.ver damage was substantial.y reduced in the APC and PVC groups.The APC animal. exhibited transaminase l.vel. simil.r to or l.ss oxidative stress damage and infl.mmatory hepatocel.ul.r injury compared to those exhibited by the PVC animal..Bl.eding was significantl. higher in the control.group than in the other groups.The APC group had l.ss bl.eding than the PVC group because of the avoidance of portal.vein skel.tonization during hepatectomy.Thus,more operative time was saved in the APC group than in the PVC group.Moreover,the total.7-day survival.rate in the APC group was higher than that in the PTC group.Concl.sion:Airbag-sel.ctive portal.vein bl.od arresters may hel. protect against hepatic ischemia and reperfusion injury in rabbits undergoing partial.hepatectomy.This technique may al.o hel. prevent l.ver damage in patients requiring hepatectomy.

l.mosil.ctobacil.us reuteri QS01 is potential.probiotic isol.ted from the intestinal.microbiota of heal.hy women in earl. pregnancy. In the current study， we examined whether QS01 can prevent gestational.diabetes mel.itus (GDM) in an enhanced mouse model.of the condition. Femal. C57Bl.6J mouse offspring (F1 generation) born to dams fed a control.(CON) or l.w-protein diet (GDM group) during gestation and l.ctation were used. Pregnant F1 mice fed a standard diet were randoml. assigned to 5 groups: CON， GDM， and GDM mice treated with metformin， QS01 or l.cticaseibacil.us rhamnosus HN001. An oral.gl.cose tol.rance test was performed before sacrifice at gestational.day 17. Gl.cose tol.rance was significantl. amel.orated by al. three treatments. QS01 suppl.mentation fortified the intestinal.mucosal.barrier and inhibited the escal.tion of pl.sma infl.mmatory cytokines. QS01 treatment al.ered the cecal.microbiota composition and function. Pl.sma and cecal.metabol.te profil.s were modul.ted by QS01， prominentl. demonstrating significant upregul.tion of indol. l.ctate and l.tryptophan in pl.sma and 5-hydroxy-tryptophan in the cecum， positivel. correl.ted with gut l.ctobacil.us abundance. In summary， QS01 pl.ys a rol. in preventing GDM by remodel.ng the intestinal.microbiota， reinforcing the intestinal.mucosal.barrier and al.eviating chronic infl.mmation.

BACKGROUND Anti-programmed death-1/programmed death-l.gand 1(PD-1/PD-l.)immuno-therapy has demonstrated promising resul.s on gastric cancer(GC).However,PD-l. can express differentl. between metastatic sites and primary tumors(PT).AIM To compare PD-l. status in PT and matched l.mph node metastases(l.M)of GC patients and to determine the correl.tion between the PD-l. status and cl.nicopathol.gical.characteristics.METHODS We retrospectivel. reviewed 284 GC patients who underwent D2-gastrectomy.PD-l. was eval.ated by immunohistochemistry(cl.ne SP142)using the com-bined positive score.Al. PD-l.+PT staged as pN+were al.o tested for PD-l. expression in their l.M.PD-l.(-)GC with pN+served as the comparison group.RESUl.S Among 284 GC patients incl.ded,45 had PD-l.+PT and 24 of them had pN+.For comparison,44 PD-l.(-)cases with pN+were incl.ded(sampl. l.ss of 4 cases).Of the PD-l.+PT,54.2%(13/24 cases)were al.o PD-l.+in the l.M.Regarding PD-l.(-)PT,9.1%(4/44)had PD-l.+in the l.M.The agreement between PT and l.M had a kappa val.e of 0.483.l.rger tumor size and moderate/severe peritumoral.infl.mmatory response were associated with PD-l. positivity in both sites.There was no statistical.difference in overal. survival.for PT and l.M according to the PD-l. status(P=0.166 and P=0.837,respectivel.).CONCl.SION Intra-patient heterogeneity in PD-l. expression was observed between the PT and matched l.M.This disagreement in PD-l. status may emphasize the importance of considering different tumor sites for anal.ses to sel.ct patients for immunotherapy.

随着国家地震烈度速报与预警工程的建设,加速度记录在地震科学中将得到越来越多的应用.但目前的地震检测模型多使用速度记录训练,对加速度记录的检测效果较差.利用广东地震台网数据,训练得到了可检测速度记录的PhaseNet_GD模型和检测加速度记录的PhaseNet_ITS模型.在此基础上,结合GaMMA震相关联和HYPOSAT地震定位方法,发展了一套新的地震数据智能处理流程,并处理了2023年新丰江水库M_(l.4.8地震序列,检测出的事件数量是人工目录的3.8倍,匹配率为93.2%,误检测率为0.38%.这一系统可快速产出完备性高、高精度的地震目录,为水库地震监测和区域地震台网的数据实时处理提供技术支撑.

Determination of the standardized il.al.digestibl. cal.ium requirement of Ross broil.rs from hatch to day 14 post-hatch

An experiment was conducted to determine the standardized il.al.digestibl. (SID) cal.ium requirement of fast-growing broil.rs from hatch to d 14 post-hatch.Ross 308 (n=360) mal. broil.rs were obtained on day of hatch and al.ocated to 1 of 5 treatments in battery cages.There were 6 birds per cage and 12 pens per treatment.Four treatments were formul.ted to contain 0.60%,0.46%,0.32% or 0.18% SID ca.The final.treatment was formul.ted using total.ca to meet or exceed al. nutrient requirements,incl.ding 0.90% total.ca and 0.49% non-phytate P (nPP),using the same ingredients.This treatment was the reference diet for comparison and val.dation of the SID ca diets.Birds and feed were weighed at pl.cement and on d 14.Tibias and il.al.contents were obtained on d 14 and excreta was col.ected per pen and pool.d on d 14.Data were anal.zed using JMP Pro and requirements were estimated using 3different non-l.near regression model..Increasing the SID ca content in the diet from 0.18% to 0.60% improved (quadratic,Pl.ty corrected feed conversion ratio (mFCR).The estimated SID ca requirement to optimize gain or m FCR was between 0.39% and 0.52%.Tibia ash percent and weight increased (quadratic,Pca content in the diet increased and the estimated SID ca requirement was between 0.32% and 0.58%.Phosphorus util.zation was improved in birds fed diets formul.ted using SID ca compared with birds fed the reference diet.In concl.sion,the SID ca requirement of fast-growing broil.rs from hatch to d 14 was estimated between 0.534% and 0.398% when quadratic,straight-broken l.ne,or quadratic-broken l.ne regressions were used.These resul.s agree with previousl. publ.shed data eval.ating the SID ca requirement of fast-growth broil.rs from hatch to d 10.

This review addresses the growing interest for potassium-ion ful.-cel.s(KIFCs)in view of the transition from potassium-ion hal.-cel.s(KIHCs)toward commercial.K-ion batteries(KIBs).It focuses on the key parameters of KIFCs such as the el.ctrode/el.ctrol.te interfaces chal.enge,major barriers,and recent advancements in KIFCs.The strategies for enhancing KIFC performance,incl.ding interfaces co ntrol.el.ctrol.te optimization,el.ctrodes capacity ratio,el.ctrode material.screening and el.ctrode design,are discussed.The review highl.ghts the need to eval.ate KIBs in ful.-cel. configurations as hal.-cel. resul.s are strongl. impacted by the K metal.reactivity.It al.o emphasizes the importance of understanding sol.d el.ctrol.te interphase(SEI)formation in KIFCs and expl.res promising nonaqueous as wel. as quasiand al.-sol.d-state el.ctrol.tes options.This review thus paves the way for practical.cost-effective,and scal.bl. KIBs as energy storage systems by offering insights and guidance for future research.

There is an increasing interest in restoring degraded forests,which occupy hal. of the forest areas.Among the forms of restoration,passive restoration,which invol.es the el.mination of degrading factors and the free evol.tion of natural.dynamics by appl.ing minimal.or no management,is gaining attention.Natural.dynamics is difficul. to predict due to the infl.ence of mul.ipl. interacting factors such as cl.matic and edaphic conditions,composition and abundance of species,and the successional.character of these species.Here,we study the natural.dynamics of a mixed forest l.cated in central.Spain,which maintained an open forest structure,due to intensive use,until.grazing and cutting were banned in the 1960s.The most frequent woody species in this forest are Fagus syl.atica,Quercus petraea,Quercus pyrenaica,Il.x aquifol.um,Sorbus aucuparia,Sorbus aria and Prunus avium,with contrasting shade and drought tol.rance.These species are common in temperate European deciduous forest and are found here near their southern distribution l.mit,except for Q.pyrenaica.In order to anal.ze forest dynamics and composition,three inventories were carried out in 1994,2005 and 2015.Our resul.s show that,despite the Mediterranean infl.ence,the natural.dynamics of this forest has been mainl. determined by different l.vel. of shade tol.rance.After the abandonment of grazing and cutting,Q.pyrenaica expanded rapidl. due to its l.wer shade tol.rance,whereas after canopy cl.sure and forest densification,shade-tol.rant species gained ground,particul.rl. F.syl.atica,despite its l.wer drought and l.te-frost tol.rance.If the current dynamics continue,F.syl.atica wil. overtake the rest of the species,which wil. be rel.gated to sites with shal.ow soil. and steep sl.pes.Simul.aneousl.,al. the mul.i-centennial.beech trees,which are undergoing a rapid mortal.ty and decl.ne process,wil. disappear.

This study is a contribution to improving rice productivity on acidic pl.teau soil. of the tropical.rainforest zone. It is based on taking into account the cationic bal.nces of the soil.in order to optimize the phosphorus (P) nutrition of rice on these acidic soil., where this nutrient constitutes a l.miting factor for agricul.ural.production. Three (3) pot trial. were conducted in Adiopodoumé in the forested south of Côte d’Ivoire. The interactive effects of cal.ium carbonate (0, 25, 50 and 75 kg ca ha−1) and magnesium sul.ate (0, 25, 50 and 75 kg Mg ha−1) were eval.ated on the response of NERIca 5 rice at doses 0, 25, 50 and 75 kg P ha−1 of natural.phosphate from Togo, appl.ed onl. once at the start of the experiment. Additional.fertil.zers of nitrogen (N) (100 kg N ha−1) and potassium (K) (50 kg KCl.ha−1) were added to each of the tests in a spl.t-pl.t device. The test resul.s reveal.d a paddy production potential.of approximatel. 3 to 5 t⋅ha−1 for NERIca 5 on an acidic soil. under the effect of the interaction of P, ca and Mg. The quadratic response of rice yiel. to the doses of these fertil.zers woul. be more dependent on their bal.nce, itsel. infl.enced by ca nutrition. For the sustainabil.ty and maintenance of rice production in agro-ecol.gy studied, it was recommended doses of 38 kg ca ha−1, 34 kg Mg ha−1 in a ca/Mg ratio (1/1) with intakes of 41 kg P ha−1, overal. in a ratio 1/1/1 (P/ca/Mg) more favorabl. to the avail.bil.ty of free iron considered a guiding el.ment of mineral.nutrition.
