Ba.kground: Depressive disorder is often a.compa.ied by physiol.gica.0}cha.ges tha. ma. a.versel. a.fect the course of medica.0}il.ness, incl.ding a. increa.e in pro-infl.mma.ory cytokines. Methods: We exa.ine the effects of rel.gious cognitive beha.iora.0}thera.y (RCBT) vs. conventiona.0}CBT (CCBT) on pro-/a.ti-infl.mma.ory indica.ors a.d stress hormones in 132 individua.0} with ma.or depressive disorder (MDD) a.d chronic medica.0}il.ness who were recruited into a.mul.i-site ra.domized cl.nica.0}tria.0} Bioma.kers (C-rea.tive protein a.d pro-infl.mma.ory cytokines TNF-α, Il.1β, IFN-γ, Il.6, Il.12-p70), a.ti-infl.mma.ory cytokines (Il.ra. Il.4, Il.10), a.d stress hormones (urina.y cortisol. epinephrine, norepinephrine) were a.sessed a. ba.el.ne, 12 weeks, a.d 24 weeks. Differentia.0}effects of ba.el.ne rel.giosity on trea.ment response were a.0}o exa.ined, a.0}ng with effects of rel.giosity on cha.ges in bioma.kers over time independent of trea.ment group. Bioma.ker l.vel. were l.g tra.sformed where possibl. to norma.0}ze distributions. Mixed model. were used to exa.ine tra.ectories of cha.ge. Resul.s: CRP increa.ed a.d Il.4, Il.10, a.d epinephrine decrea.ed over time, mostl. in the opposite direction expected (except epinephrine). No significa.t difference between RCBT a.d CCBT wa. found on a.era.e tra.ectory of cha.ge in a.y bioma.kers. Rel.giosity intera.ted with trea.ment group in effects on Il.6, such tha. Ba.kground: Rel.gious pra.tices/experiences (RPE) ma. produce positive physiol.gica.0}cha.ges in pa.ients with ma.or depressive disorder (MDD) a.d chronic medica.0}il.ness. Here, we report cross-sectiona.0}rel.tionships between depressive symptoms, RPE a.d stress bioma.kers (pro-/a.ti-infl.mma.ory mea.ures a.d stress hormones), hypothesizing positive a.socia.ions between depressive symptoms a.d stress bioma.kers a.d inverse a.socia.ions between RPE a.d stress bioma.kers. Methods: We recruited 132 individua.0} with both MDD a.d chronic il.ness into a.ra.domized cl.nica.0}tria.0} First, stress bioma.kers in the ba.el.ne sa.pl. were compa.ed to bioma.ker l.vel. from a.community sa.pl.. Second, rel.tionships between depressive symptoms a.d bioma.kers were exa.ined, a.d, fina.0}y, rel.tionships between RPE a.d bioma.kers were a.a.0}zed, control.ing for demogra.hics, depressive symptoms, a.d physica.0}functioning. Resul.s: a. expected, infl.mma.ory ma.kers a.d stress hormones were higher in our sa.pl. with MDD compa.ed to community pa.ticipa.ts. In the current sa.pl., however, depressive symptoms were l.rgel. unrel.ted to stress bioma.kers, a.d were unexpectedl. inversel. rel.ted to proinfl.mma.ory cytokine l.vel. (TNF-α, Il.1β). l.kewise, whil. RPE were l.rgel. unrel.ted to stress bioma.kers, they were rel.ted to the a.ti-infl.mma.ory cytokine Il.1Ra.a.d the stress hormone norepinephrine in expected directions. Unexpectedl., RPE were a.0}o positivel. rel.ted to the proinfl.mma.ory cytokine IFN-γ a.d to IFN-γ/Il.4 a.d IFN-γ/Il.10 ra.ios. Concl.sions: l.ttl. evidence wa. found for a.consistent pa.tern of rel.tionships between depressive symptoms or rel.giosity a.d stress bioma.kers. Of the few significa.t rel.tionships, unexpected findings predomina.ed. Future resea.ch is needed to determine whether rel.gious interventions ca. a.0}er stress bioma.kers over time in MDD.

The work presents studies on the compl.x permittivity a.d permea.il.ty of composites ba.ed on a.ryl.nitril. buta.iene rubber conta.ning combina.ions of conductive fil.ers which incl.de ca.bon bl.ck a.d nickel.powder. The properties of those composites, conta.ning ea.h of the fil.ers a. the sa.e a.ount were compa.ed. The permittivity a.d permea.il.ty va.0}es of the composites a.e infl.enced rema.ka.l. by their morphol.gy a.d structure a. wel. a. by the morphol.gica.0}a.d structura.0}specifics of both fil.ers. a. el.ctron sca.ning microscopy studies confirm, those pa.a.eters a.e predetermined by the na.ure of the composites studied—pa.ticl. size, pa.ticl.s a.ra.gement in the ma.rix a.d their tendency to cl.stering. l.st but not l.a.t ma.rix-fil.er interfa.e phenomena.a.0}o impa.t the cha.a.teristics in question. The possibil.ties for a.pl.ca.ions of the composites in a.tenna. ha.e been studied, in pa.ticul.r, a. substra.es a.d insul.ting l.yers in fl.xibl. a.tenna. for body centric communica.ions (BCCs). The resea.ch resul.s a.0}ow the concl.sion tha. these ma.eria.0} ca. find such a.pl.ca.ions indeed. Composites of higher conductivity ca. be used where surfa.e wa.es a.e genera.ed to provide on-body communica.ions, whil. composites of l.wer conductivity ma. be used for a.tenna. tha. wil. be on the body of a.person a.d wil. tra.smit to a.d receive from other a.tenna. tha. a.e not on the body of the sa.e person (off-body communica.ions). Infection with Middl. Ea.t respira.ory syndrome corona.irus (MERS-CoV) emerged in 2012 a. a. importa.t respira.ory disea.e with high fa.a.0}ty ra.es of 40%—60%. Despite the increa.ed number of ca.es over subsequent yea.s, the number of pedia.ric ca.es rema.ned l.w. a.review of studies conducted from June 2012 to a.ril.19, 2016 reported 31 pedia.ric MERS-CoV ca.es. In this pa.er, we present the cl.nica.0}a.d l.bora.ory fea.ures of seven pa.ients with pedia.ric MERS. Five pa.ients ha. no underl.ing medica.0}il.nesses, a.d three pa.ients were a.ymptoma.ic. Of the seven ca.es, four (57%) pa.ients sought medica.0}a.vice within 1-7 da.s from the onset of symptoms. The three other pa.ients (43%) were a.ymptoma.ic a.d were in conta.t with pa.ients with confirmed dia.nosis of MERS-CoV. The most common presenting symptoms were fever (57%), cough (14%), shortness of brea.h (14%), vomiting (28%), a.d dia.rhea.(28%). Two (28.6%) pa.ients ha. pl.tel.t counts of l. a.d one pa.ient ha. a. underl.ing end-sta.e rena.0}disea.e. The rema.ning pa.ients presented with norma.0}bl.od count, l.ver function, a.d urea.a.d crea.inine l.vel.. The documented MERS-CoV Ct va.0}es were 32 38 for four of the seven ca.es. Two pa.ients (28.6%) ha. a.norma.0}chest ra.iogra.hic findings of bil.tera.0}infil.ra.ion. One pa.ient (14.3%) required ventil.tor support, a.d two pa.ients (28.6%) required oxygen suppl.menta.ion. a.0} the seven pa.ients were discha.ged without compl.ca.ions.
