N-doped graphene quantum dot-decorated N-TiO2/P-doped porous hollow g-C_(3)N_(4) nanotube composite photocatalysts for antibiotic photodegradation and H2 production

Exclusive responsiveness to ultraviolet light (~3.2 eV) and high photogenerated charge recombination rate are the two primary drawbacks of pure TiO_(2). We combined N-doped graphene quantum dots (N-GQDs), morphology regulation, and heterojunction construction strategies to synthesize N-GQD/N-doped TiO_(2)/P-doped porous hollow g-C_(3)N_(4) nanotube (PCN) composite photocatalysts (denoted as G-TPCN). The optimal sample (G-TPCN doped with 0.1wt% N-GQD, denoted as 0.1% G-TPCN) exhibits significantly enhanced photoabsorption, which is attributed to the change in bandgap caused by elemental doping (P and N), the improved light-harvesting resulting from the tube structure, and the upconversion effect of N-GQDs. In addition, the internal charge separation and transfer capability of0.1% G-TPCN are dramatically boosted, and its carrier concentration is 3.7, 2.3, and 1.9 times that of N-TiO_(2), PCN, and N-TiO_(2)/PCN(TPCN-1), respectively. This phenomenon is attributed to the formation of Z-scheme heterojunction between N-TiO_(2) and PCNs, the excellent electron conduction ability of N-GQDs, and the short transfer distance caused by the porous nanotube structure. Compared with those of N-TiO_(2), PCNs, and TPCN-1, the H2 production activity of 0.1%G-TPCN under visible light is enhanced by 12.4, 2.3, and 1.4times, respectively, and its ciprofloxacin (CIP) degradation rate is increased by 7.9, 5.7, and 2.9 times, respectively. The optimized performance benefits from excellent photoresponsiveness and improved carrier separation and migration efficiencies. Finally, the photocatalytic mechanism of 0.1% G-TPCN and five possible degradation pathways of CIP are proposed. This study clarifies the mechanism of multiple modification strategies to synergistically improve the photocatalytic performance of 0.1% G-TPCN and provides a potential strategy for rationally designing novel photocatalysts for environmental remediation and solar energy conversion.

For living anionic polymerization(lAP),solvent has a great influence on both reaction mechanism and *** this work,by using the classical butyl lithium-styrene polymerization as a model system,the effect of solvent on the mechanism and kinetics of lAP was revealed through a strategy combining density functional theory(DFT)calculations and kinetic *** terms of mechanism,it is found that the stronger the solvent polarity,the more electrons transfer from initiator to solvent through detailed energy decomposition analysis of electrostatic interactions between initiator and solvent ***,we also found that the stronger the solvent polarity,the higher the monomer initiation energy barrier and the smaller the initiation rate ***,initiation is more favorable at lower temperatures based on the calculated results ofΔG_(TS).Finally,the kinetic characteristics in different solvents were further examined by kinetic *** is found that in benzene and n-pentane,the polymerization rate exhibits first-order ***,slow initiation and fast propagation were observed in tetrahydrofuran(THF)due to the slow free ion formation rate,leading to a deviation from first-order kinetics.

Recently,Peter et al reported a novel form of cell death(cuproptosis)that was different from other known death mechanisms.1 They found that accumulation of copper ions could induce destabilization of Fe-S cluster proteins and aggregation of mitochondrial lipoylated proteins,ultimately resulting in cuproptosis.1 of note,ten genes were identified as cuproptosis-related genes(CRGs)in copper ion-induced cell death,including PDHB,PDHA1,DlAT,DlD,lIPT1,lIAS,FDX1,CDKN2A,GlS,and MTF1.1 Since dysregulation of copper metabolism is involved in many cancers,cuproptosis and CRGs may play vital roles in cancer development and treatment.1.2 Herein,our pancancer analysis revealed the coordinated upregulation of 9 of 10 CRGs in human liver hepatocellular carcinoma(lIHC)across 33 solid tumors(Fig.S1A;Fig.1A),suggesting the distinct role of CRGs in *** then explored the genetic landscape,biological function,and clinical significance of CRGs in lIHC,and validated our bioinformatic findings by in vitro experiments and clinical *** detailed methods were described in the supplementary material.

The spin superconductor state is the spin-polarized triplet exciton condensate,which can be viewed as a counterpart of the charge superconductor *** an analogy of the charge Josephson effect,the spin Josephson effect can be generated in the spin superconductor/normal metal/spin superconductor *** we study the spin supercurrent in the Josephson junctions consisting of two spin superconductors with noncollinear spin *** the Josephson junctions with out-of-plane spin polarizations,the possibleπ-state spin supercurrent appears due to the Fermi momentum-splitting Andreev-like reflections at the normal metal/spin superconductor *** the Josephson junctions with in-plane spin polarizations,the anomalous spin supercurrent appears and is driven by the misorientation angle of the in-plane *** symmetry analysis shows that the appearance of the anomalous spin Josephson current is possible when the combined symmetry of the spin rotation and the time reversal is broken.

The superτ-charm facility(STCF)is an electron–positron collider proposed by the Chinese particle physics *** is designed to operate in a center-of-mass energy range from 2 to 7 GeV with a peak luminosity of 0.5×10^(35) cm^(–2)·s^(–1) or *** STCF will produce a data sample about a factor of 100 larger than that of the presentτ-charm factory—the BEPCII,providing a unique platform for exploring the asymmetry of matter-antimatter(charge-parity violation),in-depth studies of the internal structure of hadrons and the nature of non-perturbative strong interactions,as well as searching for exotic hadrons and physics beyond the Standard *** STCF project in China is under development with an extensive R&D *** document presents the physics opportunities at the STCF,describes conceptual designs of the STCF detector system,and discusses future plans for detector R&D and physics case studies.

Piezoelectric material-based semi-active vibration control systems may effectively suppress vibration amplitude without any external power supply,or even harvest electrical *** bidirectional electrical energy control phenomenon is theoretically introduced and validated in this paper.A flyback transformer-based switching piezoelectric shunt circuit that can extract energy from or inject energy into piezoelectric elements is *** analytical expressions of the controlled energy and the corresponding vibration attenuation are therefore derived for a classical electromechanical cantilever *** predictions validated by the experimental results show that the structure vibration attenuation can be tuned from−5 to−25 dB under the given electrical quality factor of the circuit and figure of merit of the electromechanical structure,and the consumed power is in the range of−13 to 25 mW,which is a good theoretical basis for the development of self-sensing,self-adapting,and self-powered piezoelectric vibration control systems.

Objective A high sodium(HS)diet is believed to affect bone metabolism *** its impact on osseointegration of titanium(Ti)implants holds significant implications for postoperative dietary management of implanted *** This investigation probed the impact of sodium ions(Na^(+))on neovascularization and osteogenesis around Ti implants in vivo,utilizing micro-computed tomography,hematoxylin and eosin staining,and immunohistochemical ***,in vitro experiments assessed the effects of varied Na^(+)concentrations and exposure durations on human umbilical vein endothelial cells(HUVECs)and MC3T3-E1 *** In vivo,increased dietary sodium(0.8%-6.0%)led to a substantial decline in CD34 positive HUVECs and new bone formation around Ti implants,alongside an increase in inflammatory *** vitro,an increase in Na^(+)concentration(140-150 mmol/l)adversely affected the proliferation,angiogenesis,and migration of HUVECs,especially with prolonged *** MC3T3-E1 cells initially exhibited less susceptibility to high Na^(+)concentrations compared to HUVECs during short-term exposure,prolonged exposure to a HS environment progressively diminished their proliferation,differentiation,and osteogenic *** These findings suggest that HS diet had a negative effect on the early osseointegration of Ti implants by interfering with the process of postoperative vascularized bone regeneration.
