Consistent Alterations of Human Fecal Microbes After Transplantation into Germ-free Mice

Fecal microbiota transplantation(FMT)of human fecal samples into germ-free(GF)mice is useful for establishing causal relationships between the gut microbiota and human ***,due to the intrinsic differences between human and mouse intestines and the different diets of the two organisms,it may not be possible to replicate human phenotypes in mice through FMT;similarly,treatments that are effective in mouse models may not be effective in *** this study,we aimed to identify human gut microbes that undergo significant and consistent changes(i.e.,in relative abundances)after transplantation into GF mice in multiple experimental *** collected 16S rDNA-seq data from four published studies and analyzed the gut microbiota profiles from 1713 human–mouse ***,on average,we found that only 47%of the human gut microbes could be re-established in mice at the species level,among which more than 1/3 underwent significant changes(referred to as“variable taxa”).Most of the human gut microbes that underwent significant changes were consistent across multiple human–mouse pairs and experimental ***,about 1/3 of human samples changed their enterotypes,i.e.,significant changes in their leading species after *** fed with a controlled diet showed a lower enterotype change rate(23.5%)than those fed with a noncontrolled diet(49.0%),suggesting a possible solution for *** of the variable taxa have been reported to be implicated in human diseases,with some recognized as the causative *** results highlight the challenges of using a mouse model to replicate human gut microbiota-associated phenotypes,provide useful information for researchers using mice in gut microbiota studies,and call for additional validations after *** online database named FMT-DB is publicly available at http://***/#/.

Coding regions have complex interactions among multiple selective forces,which are manifested as biases in nucleotide *** studies have revealed a decreasing GC gradient from the 5′-end to 3′-end of coding regions in various *** confirmed that this gradient is universal in eukaryotic genes,but the decrease only starts from the~25th *** trend is mostly found in nonsynonymous(ns)sites at which the GC gradient is universal across the eukaryotic *** GC contents at ns sites result in cheaper amino acids,indicating a universal selection for energy efficiency toward the N-termini of encoded *** a genome,the decreasing GC gradient is intensified from lowly to highly expressed genes(more and more protein products),further supporting this *** reveals a conserved selective constraint for cheaper amino acids at the translation start that drives the increased GC contents at ns *** GC contents can facilitate transcription but result in a more stable local secondary structure around the start codon and subsequently impede translation ***,the GC gradients at four-fold and two-fold synonymous sites vary across *** could decrease or increase,suggesting different constraints acting at the GC contents of different codon sites in different *** study reveals that the overall GC contents at the translation start are consequences of complex interactions among several major biological processes that shape the nucleotide sequences,especially efficient energy usage.

The directionally solidified samples of an ultra-high temperature Nb-Si-Ti-Hf-Cr-Al alloy have been prepared with the use of an electron beam floating zone melting (EBFZM) furnace, and their microstructural characteristics have been analyzed. All the primary dendrites of Nb solid solution (Nbss), eutectic colonies of Nba, plus (Nb, Ti)3 Si/(Nb, Ti)5 Si3 and chains of (Nb, Ti)3 Si/(Nb, Ti)5 Si3 plates align along the growth direction of the samples. With increasing of the withdrawing rate, the microstructure is refined, and the amounts of Nbss+ (Nb, Ti)3 Si/(Nb, Ti)5 Si3 eutectic colonies and (Nb, Ti)3 Si/(Nb, Ti)5 Si3 plates increase. There appear nodes in the (Nb, Ti)3 Si/(Nb, Ti)5 Si3 plates.

Multi-directional impact forging(MDIF)was applied to a Mg-7Al-2Sn(wt.%)Mg alloy to investigate its effect on the microstructural *** process exhibited high grain refinement *** MDIF 200 passes,the grain size drastically decreased to 20µm from the initial coarse grains of~500µm due to dynamic recrystallization(DRX).Meanwhile,original grain boundaries remained during MDIF and large numbers of fine sphericalβ-Mg_(17)Al_(12) particles dynamically precipitated along the original grain boundaries with high Al concentration,acting as effective pinning obstacles for the suppression of DRXed grain ***,micro-cracks nucleated during MDIF and propagated along the interface between the remained globular or cubic Al-Mn particles and Mg matrix.

Epitaxial growth and air-stability of monolayer Cu2Te

A new two-dimensional atomic crystal, monolayer cuprous telluride（Cu2Te） has been fabricated on a grapheneSi C（0001） substrate by molecular beam epitaxy（MBE）. The low-energy electron diffraction（lEED） characterization shows that the monolayer Cu2Te forms ■ superstructure with respect to the graphene substrate. The atomic structure of the monolayer Cu2Te is investigated through a combination of scanning tunneling microscopy（STM） experiments and density functional theory（DFT） calculations. The stoichiometry of the Cu2Te sample is verified by x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy（XPS） measurement. The angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy（ARPES） data present the electronic band structure of the sample, which is in good agreement with the calculated results. Furthermore, air-exposure experiments reveal the chemical stability of the monolayer Cu2Te. The fabrication of this new 2D material with a particular structure may bring new physical properties for future applications.

针对10 kV配电网小电流接地故障时单台智能控制器零序电流测量误差比较大、选线难的问题,基于零序电流比幅法设计了一种适合在柱上开关智能控制器实现的零序电流选线方法.该系统采用专用的电能计量模块和单片机来测量并计算线路的零序电压、零序电流和相电流,当零序电压超过设定值后,根据相电流的大小计算零序电流的随机误差,用零序电流实测值和随机误差求出偏移量,并通过GSM模块通信的方法对各条线路的零序电流偏移值进行比较排序,为单相接地故障提供选线依据.通过仿真试验验证了算法选线准确.该系统实用、安装简单、现场使用方便可靠.

Cutting Characteristics of Zr-Based Bulk Metallic Glass

Cutting behavior exerts a considerable influence on the fabrication of bulk metallic glass(BMG) components. In this study,the influences of machining parameters(i.e.,depth of cutting,feed rate,and spindle rate) on the turned surface of a Zr-based BMG after observing the 3D morphologies of this surface were *** results showed that the influence of the spindle rate on the surface morphologies is more substantial as compared to the depth of cutting and the feed rate. Nanoscratch tests were conducted to further characterize the separation mechanism of the chips,which revealed that the chips are torn off the surface of a BMG because of inhomogeneous localized maximum shear stress.

竖向荷载作用下飘浮体系斜拉桥极限承载能力与失效模式分析

提出采用塑性极限分析法研究竖向荷载作用下大跨飘浮体系斜拉桥的极限承载力和失效模式。基于塑性极限分析的相关假定并结合基本机构证明了该方法应用于斜拉桥失效分析的可行性,结合飘浮体系单塔斜拉桥推导了极限承载力计算公式并分析对应的失效模式,通过优化方法-内点法获得斜拉桥塑性极限荷载及其对应失效模式,并与OpenSEES有限元分析结果进行了对比分析。结果表明:竖向荷载作用下,主梁在拉索屈服强度较小时为整体性破坏,反之则为局部性破坏;相比拉索而言,主梁屈服强度对斜拉桥破坏的影响则正相反;拉索锈蚀在降低斜拉桥极限载荷系数的同时也改变其倒塌失效模式;相比于有限元法,塑性极限分析法简便且易操作,可用于研究竖向荷载作用下飘浮体系斜拉桥的极限承载能力与失效模式,且能够快速有效评估结构参数变化对其失效行为的影响。
