Staggered-grid finite-difference(SGFD)schemes have been widely used in acoustic wave modeling for geophysical problems.Many improved methods are proposed to enhance the accuracy of numerical modeling.However,these methods are inevitably limited by the maximum Courant-Friedrichs-lewy(CFl)numbers,making them unstable when modeling with large time sampling intervals or small grid spacings.To solve this problem,we extend a stable SGFD scheme by controlling SGFD dispersion relations and maximizing the maximum CFl numbers.First,to improve modeling stability,we minimize the error between the FD dispersion relation and the exact relation in the given wave-number region,and make the FD dispersion approach a given function outside the given wave-number area,thus breaking the conventional limits of the maximum CFl number.Second,to obtain high modeling accuracy,we use the SGFD scheme based on the Remez algorithm to compute the FD coefficients.In addition,the hybrid absorbing boundary condition is adopted to suppress boundary reflections and we find a suitable weighting coefficient for the proposed scheme.Theoretical derivation and numerical modeling demonstrate that the proposed scheme can maintain high accuracy in the modeling process and the value of the maximum CFl number of the proposed scheme can exceed that of the conventional SGFD scheme when adopting a small maximum effective wavenumber,indicating that the proposed scheme improves stability during the modeling.

A class of cooperative games with graph communication structure is studied in this paper by considering some important players,namely essential players.Under the assumption that only connected coalitions containing essential players are able to cooperate and obtain their worths,the class of graph games with essential players is proposed as well as an allocation rule.The proposed value follows the spirit of the Myerson value defined by applying the Shapley value on a modified game.Three properties,feasible component efficiency,the inessential component property,and fairness,are provided to fully characterize this value,where feasible component efficiency and fairness follows the same ideas of component efficiency and fairness for classical graph games,and the inessential component property says that the total payoffs of the players in a non-feasible component is zero.Moreover,some computational aspects of the proposed value and comparisons with disjunctive permission value for games with permission structure are also studied,respectively.

Analog feature extraction(AFE)is an appealing strategy for low-latency and efficient cognitive sensing systems since key features are much sparser than the Nyquist-sampled data.However,applying AFE to broadband radio-frequency(RF)scenarios is challenging due to the bandwidth and programmability bottlenecks of analog electronic circuitry.Here,we introduce a photonics-based scheme that extracts spatiotemporal features from broadband RF signals in the analog domain.The feature extractor structure inspired by convolutional neural networks is implemented on integrated photonic circuits to process RF signals from multiple antennas,extracting valid features from both temporal and spatial dimensions.Because of the tunability of the photonic devices,the photonic spatiotemporal feature extractor is trainable,which enhances the validity of the extracted features.Moreover,a digital-analog-hybrid transfer learning method is proposed for the effective and low-cost training of the photonic feature extractor.To validate our scheme,we demonstrate a radar target recognition task with a 4-GHz instantaneous bandwidth.Experimental results indicate that the photonic analog feature extractor tackles broadband RF signals and reduces the sampling rate of analog-to-digital converters to 1/4 of the Nyquist sampling while maintaining a high target recognition accuracy of 97.5%.Our scheme offers a promising path for exploiting the AFE strategy in the realm of cognitive RF sensing,with the potential to contribute to the efficient signal processing involved in applications such as autonomous driving,robotics,and smart factories.

Objective Hydroquinone(HQ),one of the phenolic metabolites of benzene,is widely recognized as an important participant in benzene-induced hematotoxicity.However,there are few relevant proteomics in HQ-induced hematotoxicity and the mechanism hasn’t been fully understood yet.Methods In this study,we treated K562 cells with 40μmol/l HQ for 72 h,examined and validated protein expression changes by label-free proteomic analysis and Parallel reaction monitoring(PRM),and performed bioinformatics analysis to identify interaction networks.Results One hundred and eighty-seven upregulated differentially expressed proteins(DEPs)and 279 downregulated DEPs were identified in HQ-exposed K562 cells,which were involved in neutrophilmediated immunity,blood microparticle,and other GO terms,as well as the lysosome,metabolic,cell cycle,and cellular senescence-related pathways.Focusing on the 23 DEGs and 5 DEPs in erythroid differentiation-related pathways,we constructed the network of protein interactions and determined 6 DEPs(STAT1,STAT3,CASP3,KIT,STAT5B,and VEGFA)as main hub proteins with the most interactions,among which STATs made a central impact and may be potential biomarkers of HQ-induced hematotoxicity.Conclusion Our work reinforced the use of proteomics and bioinformatic approaches to advance knowledge on molecular mechanisms of HQ-induced hematotoxicity at the protein level and provide a valuable basis for further clarification.

The effectiveness of platelet-rich plasma(PRP)for the treatment of Achilles tendon disorders still needs to be evaluated through a series of prospective studies,but genomic analysis can reveal the existence of complementary PRP treatment options.Based on the 96 platelet activation-related genes in the Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes(KEGG)database,we performed Gene Ontology functional enrichment analysis and KEGG enrichment analysis,pathway correlation analysis,and enrichment mapping to determine the enrichment results of the gene set enrichment analysis and found that the cAMP signalling pathway may be the key to enhancing the effectiveness of PRP treatment.The cAMP signalling pathway interacts with the Rap1 signalling pathway and cGMPPKG signalling pathway to mediate the entire pathophy-siological process of Achilles tendon disease.Moreover,ADCY1-9 may be the key to the activation of the cAMP signalling network.Further based on the data in the Gene Expression Omnibus database,it was found that ADCY4 and ADCY7 may be the players that play a major role,associated with the STAT4-ADCY4-lAMA5 axis and the GRbeta-ADCY7-SEMA3C axis,which is expected to be a complementary target for enhancing the efficacy of PRP in the treatment of Achilles tendon disease.

BACKGROUND Accumulating evidence suggests that the gut microbiome is involved in the pathogenesis of insulin resistance(IR).However,the link between two of the most prevalent bowel disorders,chronic diarrhea and constipation,and the triglyceride glucose(TyG)index,a marker of IR,has not yet been investigated.AIM To investigate the potential association between TyG and the incidence of chronic diarrhea and constipation.METHODS This cross-sectional study enrolled 2400 participants from the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey database from 2009-2010.TyG was used as an exposure variable,with chronic diarrhea and constipation as determined by the Bristol Stool Form Scale used as the outcome variables.A demographic investigation based on TyG quartile subgroups was performed.The application of multivariate logistic regression models and weighted generalized additive models revealed potential correlations between TyG,chronic diarrhea,and constipation.Subgroup analyses were performed to examine the stability of any potential associations.RESUlTS In the chosen sample,chronic diarrhea had a prevalence of 8.00%,while chronic constipation had a prevalence of 8.04%.In multiple logistic regression,a more prominent positive association was found between TyG and chronic diarrhea,particularly in model 1(OR=1.45;95%CI:1.17-1.79,P=0.0007)and model 2(OR=1.40;95%CI:1.12-1.76,P=0.0033).No definite association was observed between the TyG levels and chronic constipation.The weighted generalized additive model findings suggested a more substantial positive association with chronic diarrhea when TyG was less than 9.63(OR=1.89;95%CI:1.05-3.41,P=0.0344),and another positive association with chronic constipation when it was greater than 8.2(OR=1.74;95%CI:1.02-2.95,P=0.0415).The results of the subgroup analyses further strengthen the extrapolation of these results to a wide range of populations.CONClUSION Higher TyG levels were positively associated with abnormal bowel health.

Although various anti-inflammatory medications,such as ephedrine,are employed to manage cough-variant asthma,their underlying mechanisms are yet to be fully understood.Recent studies suggest that exosomes derived from airway epithelial cells(AECs)contain components like messenger RNAs(mRNAs),micro-RNAs(miRNAs),and long noncoding RNA(lncRNA),which play roles in the occurrence and progression of airway inflammation.This study investigates the influence of AEC-derived exosomes on the efficacy of ephedrine in treating cough-variant asthma.We established a mouse model of asthma and measured airway resist-ance and serum inflammatory cell levels.Real-time polymerase chain reaction(RT-qPCR),Western blotting,and enzyme-linked im-munosorbent assay(ElISA)analyses were used to assess gene and protein expression levels.Exosomes were isolated and character-ized.RNA immunoprecipitation(RIP)and RNA pull-down assays were conducted to examine the interaction between hnRNPA2B1 and lnc-TRPM2-AS1.In the ovalbumin(OVA)-challenged mouse model,ephedrine treatment reduced inflammatory responses,air-way resistance,and Th1/Th2 cell imbalance.Exosomes from OVA-treated AECs showed elevated levels of lnc-TRPM2-AS1,which were diminished following ephedrine treatment.The exosomal lnc-TRPM2-AS1 mediated the Th1/Th2 imbalance in CD4^(+)T cells,with its packaging into exosomes being facilitated by hnRNPA2B1.This study unveils a novel mechanism by which ephedrine ameli-orates OVA-induced CD4^(+)T cell imbalance by suppressing AEC-derived exosomal lnc-TRPM2-AS1.These findings could provide a theoretical framework for using ephedrine in asthma treatment.

AIM:To evaluate the effect of lens surgery on health-related quality of life(HRQol)of preschool children with congenital ectopia lentis(CEl).METHODS:A prospective self-controlled study was conducted in Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center.Children aged from 5 to 7y whom were diagnosed with CEl and underwent phacoemulsification with scleral-fixated posterior chamber intraocular lens implantation and their parents were enrolled in this study.All of them completed the child and proxy(parental)PedsQl™4.0 before and after the surgery.Their preoperative scores were compared to their postoperative ones.Subgroup analyses were performed based on gender and preoperative bilateral presenting visual acuity of the children.RESUlTS:Thirty-two children with CEl successfully underwent surgery without any complications,among whom 8 had monocular surgery and 24 had binocular surgery.Preoperative and postoperative questionnaires were completed by 32 child-parent pairs.Surgical intervention could significantly improve the vision of affected children(Pl,psychosocial and total health scores self-reported by the children were 68.75(62.50,81.25),65.00(60.00,80.00)and 67.39(60.87,78.26)preoperatively and were 93.75(87.50,100.00),90.00(83.33,96.67)and 89.13(85.32,95.65)postoperatively.The preoperative scores of the affected children were significantly lower in all scales than age-matched healthy children(Pll the postoperative scores were significantly higher than the preoperative scores in affected children and their parents(Pl functioning evaluation,the preoperative score reported by parents of girls was higher than parents of boys(P=0.041),and the postoperative score of girls was higher than that of boys(P=0.036).CONClUSION:CEl is associated with significantly worse quality of life in preschool children.Surgical intervention can significantly improve the HRQol in affected children from both personal and family perspective.
