The coronavirus disease 2.19(COVID-19)pandemic,triggered by the novel coronavirus severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2),has ravaged the globe,resulting in a staggering loss of life and wreaking havoc on the worldwide economy.[1,2]Sepsis is a cascade of abnormal responses provoked by infection,leading to a critical deterioration in organ function that poses a life-threatening risk.[3]However,it is unclear from published reports whether COVID-19 and sepsis are commonly aff ected by molecular ***,we performed a bioinformatics analysis to uncover shared diagnostic genes and potential mechanisms between COVID-19 and sepsis.

The poppet valves two-stroke(PV2S)aircraft engine fueled with sustainable aviation fuel is a promising option for general aviation and unmanned aerial vehicle propulsion due to its high power-to-weight ratio,uniform torque output,and flexible valve ***,its high-altitude gas exchange performance remains unexplored,presenting new opportunities for optimization through artificial intelligence(AI)*** study uses validated 1D+3D models to evaluate the high-altitude gas exchange performance of PV2S aircraft *** valve timings of the PV2S engine exhibit considerable flexibility,thus the latin hypercube design of experiments(DoE)methodology is employed to fit a response surface model.A genetic algorithm(GA)is applied to iteratively optimize valve timings for varying *** optimization process reveals that increasing the intake duration while decreasing the exhaust duration and valve overlap angles can significantly enhance high-altitude gas exchange *** optimal valve overlap angle emerged as 93°CA at sea level and 82°CA at 4000 m *** effects of operating parameters,including engine speed,load,and exhaust back pressure,on the gas exchange process at varying altitudes are further *** higher engine speed increases trapping efficiency but decreases the delivery ratio and charging efficiency at various *** effect is especially pronounced at elevated *** increase in exhaust back pressure will significantly reduce the delivery ratio and increase the trapping *** study demonstrates that integrating DoE with AI algorithms can enhance the high-altitude performance of aircraft engines,serving as a valuable reference for further optimization efforts.

BACKGROUND Acute decompensation(AD)of cirrhosis is associated with high short-term mortality,mainly due to the development of acute-on-chronic liver failure(AClF).Thus,there is a need for biomarkers for early and accurate identification of AD patients with high risk of development of AClF and *** triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells-1(sTREM-1)is released from activated innate immune cells and correlated with various inflammatory *** To explore the prognostic value of sTREM-1 in patients with AD of *** A multicenter prospective cohort of 442 patients with cirrhosis hospitalized for AD was divided into a study cohort(n=309)and validation cohort(n=133).Demographic and clinical data were collected,and serum sTREM-1 was measured at *** enrolled patients were followed-up for at least 1 *** In patients with AD and cirrhosis,serum sTREM-1 was an independent prognosis predictor for 1-year survival and correlated with liver,coagulation,cerebral and kidney failure.A new prognostic model of AD(P-AD)incorporating sTREM-1,blood urea nitrogen(BUN),total bilirubin(TBil),international normalized ratio(INR)and hepatic encephalopathy grades was established and performed better than the model for end-stage liver disease(MElD),MElD-sodium(MElD-Na),chronic liver failure-consortium(ClIF-C)AClF and ClIF-C AD ***,sTREM-1 was increased in AClF and predicted the development of AClF during first 28-d *** AClF risk score incorporating serum sTREM-1,BUN,INR,TBil and aspartate aminotransferase levels was established and significantly superior to MElD,MElD-Na,ClIF-C AClF,ClIF-C AD and P-AD in predicting risk of AClF *** Serum sTREM-1 is a promising prognostic biomarker for AClF development and mortality in patients with AD of cirrhosis.

According to Biot′s wave equation of transversely isotropic saturated soil, this paper deduces the general equation of the reflection coefficients and transmission coefficients when qP 1 wave goes through from saturated soil to elastic media. The effects of anisotropies and boundary drainage condition on reflection coefficients and transmission coefficients are analyzed by numerical method. The idea of this paper can be applied to the case when qSV wave or qP 2 wave goes through from saturated soils to elastic soils.

Chronic post-hypoxic myoclonus, also known as lance-Adams syndrome (lAS), is a rare complication of successful cardiopulmanry resuscitation often accompanied by action myoclonus and cerebellar ataxia. It is seen in patients who have un-dergone a cardiorespiratory arrest, regained consciousness afterwards, and then developed myoclonus days or weeks after the event. Worldwide, 122 cases have been reported in the literature so far, including 1 case of Chinese. Here we report 2 Chinese lAS patients with detailed neuroimagings. Cranial single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) of patient 1, a 52-year-old woman, showed a mild hypoperfusion in her left temporal lobe, whereas patient 2, a 54-year-old woman, manifested a mild bilateral decrease of glucose metabolism in the frontal lobes and a mild to moderate decrease of the N-acetyl aspartate (NAA) peak in the bilateral hippocampi by cranial [18F]-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomographic (PET) scan and cranial magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS), respectively. We also review the literature on the neuroimaging, pathogenesis, and treatment of lAS.

植入医用软材料摩擦行为对材料植入效果及副作用有决定性影响.分别以临床常用聚二甲基硅氧烷(PDMS)弹性体及类生物组织材料聚丙烯酰胺(PAM)水凝胶为摩擦副,采用丙烯酸衍生聚合物(EMT-10)水分散液为摩擦介质,构建摩擦系统,研究摩擦曲线变化趋势及其影响因素.结果显示,疏水PDMS弹性体对EMT-10聚合物具有较强的吸附作用,其润滑液层由摩擦界面吸附和受限空间束缚的EMT-10聚合物链共同构成.与疏水PDMS弹性体相比,亲水PAM水凝胶与EMT-10聚合物链吸附作用弱,润滑液层由水凝胶表面本体网链和束缚EMT-10聚合物链组成.相对液膜厚度参数可关联界面性质与润滑介质流变行为,判断摩擦系统所处摩擦曲线区域及变化趋势.

Histidine enhances carbamazepine action against seizures and improves spatial memory deficits induced by chronic transauricular kindling in rats

Aim: To investigate whether histidine can enhance the anticonvulsant efficacy of carbamazepine (CBZ) and simultaneously improve the spatial memory impairment induced by transauricular kindled seizures in Sprague-Dawley rats. Methods: Chronic transauricular kindling was induced by repeated application of initially subconvulsive electrical stimulation through ear-clip electrodes once every 24 h until the occurrence of 3 consecutive clonic-tonic seizures. An 8-arm radial maze (4 arms baited) was used to measure spatial memory, and histamine and γ-amino-butyric acid levels were measured by high performance liquid chromatography (HPlC). Results: Chronic transauricular kindling produced a significant impairment of spatial memory and a marked decrease in histamine content in the hypothalamus, the brainstem, and the hippocampus. Injection of histidine (1000 mg/kg or 1500 mg/kg, ip) significantly inhibited transauricular kindled seizures. Injection of histidine at lower doses (200 mg/kg or 500 mg/kg, ip) had no appreciable anticonvulsant effect when administered alone, whereas it significantly potentiated the protective effects of CBZ against kindled seizures. CBZ had no ameliorative effect on memory deficit, but, in contrast, histidine (200 mg/kg or 500 mg/kg, ip) alone or co-administered with CBZ significantly ameliorated the memory deficits induced by the seizures. Conclusion: Chronic transauricular kindling is a very useful animal model for evaluating memory deficits associated with epilepsy, and histidine has both a potentiate effect on the anticonvulsant efficacy of CBZ and an ameliorative effect on the spatial memory deficits induced in this model. Histidine at a specific dosage range might serve as a beneficial adjuvant for the clinical treatment of epilepsy, especially when accompanied by impaired spatial memory.
