AIM:To understand the complex reaction of gastric inflammation induced by Helicobacter pylori(H pylori) in a systematic manner using a protein interaction network. METHODS:The expression of genes significantly changed on microarray during H pylori infection was scanned from the web literary database and translated into proteins.A network of protein interactions was constructed by searching the primary interactions of selected *** constructed network was mathematically analyzed and its biological function was *** addition,the nodes on the network were checked to determine if they had any further functional importance or relation to other proteins by extending them. RESULTS:The scale-free network showing the relationship between inflammation and carcinogenesis was *** analysis showed hub and bottleneck proteins,and these proteins were mostly related to immune *** network contained pathways and proteins related to H pylori infection,such as the JAK-STAT pathway triggered by *** of nuclear factor (NF)-κB,TLR4,and other proteins known to function as core proteins of immune response were also found. These immune-related proteins interacted on the network with pathways and proteins related to the cell cycle,cell maintenance and proliferation,andtranscription regulators such as BRCA1,FOS,REL,and zinc finger *** extension of nodes showed interactions of the immune proteins with cancer- related *** extended network,the core network,a summarized form of the extended network, and cell pathway model were constructed. CONCLUSION:Immune-related proteins activated by H pylori infection interact with proto-oncogene *** hub and bottleneck proteins are potential drug targets for gastric inflammation and cancer.

Oxidation and burning behaviors were studied for CaO added AM50 Mg composites which were manufactured by conventional melting and casting processes without SF6 protective gas. CaO added AM50 Mg composites show the stable oxidation resistance, while AMS0 Mg alloys show the poor oxidation resistance. The effects of CaO addition on the burning resistance under ambient, nitrogen and dry air atmospheres were examined for CaO added AM50 Mg composites. With increasing CaO addition, the burning temperature increases under ambient, nitrogen and dry air atmospheres. The burning temperatures of small test specimen under all conditions greatly increase even by 0.3% CaO （mass fraction） addition into AM50 Mg alloys.

Considering the spin degree of freedom of the Dirac field, we study the entanglement behavior of a different class of communication channel and teleportation of three-dimensional single particle state in noninertial frames. Numerical analysis shows that the communication channel in our scheme can offer enough distillable entanglement for the teleportation protocol. Moreover, the teleportation protocol could work well if Rob＇s acceleration is not very big, but the fidelity of the teleportation is still reduced due to the Unruh effect.

Indian hedgehog （Ihh） is an essential signal that regulates endochondral bone development. We have previously shown that Wnt7b promotes osteoblast differentiation during mouse embryogenesis, and that its expression in the perichondrium is dependent on Ihh signaling. To test the hypothesis that Wnt7b may mediate some aspects of Ihh function during endochondral bone development, we activated Wnt7b expression from the R26-Wnt7b allele with Col2-Cre in the Ihh-/- mouse. Artificial expression of Wnt7b rescued vascularization of the hypertrophic cartilage in the Ihh-/- mouse, but failed to restore orthotopic osteoblast differentiation in the perichondrium. Similarly, Wnt7b did not recover Ihh-dependent perichondral bone formation in the Ihh-/-; Gli3-/- embryo. Interestingly, Wnt7b induced bone formation at the diaphyseal region of long bones in the absence of Ihh, possibly due to increased vascularization in the area. Thus, Ihh-dependent expression of Wnt7b in the perichondrium may contribute to vascularization of the hypertrophic cartilage during endochondral bone development.

We propose two effective schemes for local and remote unknown atomic state comparisons with a cavity-assisted single photon input--output process without any initial entanglement or auxiliary resource. The unambiguous state discrim- ination is considered using the state comparison process as the basic module. All the implementation schemes here just involve common quantum logic gates and the single qubit measurement. The analysis shows that our schemes are feasible under the current experimental conditions.

Surgical palliation of unresectable pancreatic head cancer in elderly patients

AIM: To determine if surgical biliary bypass would provide improved quality of residual life and safe palliation in elderly patients with unresectable pancreatic head cancer. METHODS: Nineteen patients, 65 years of age or older, were managed with surgical biliary bypass (Group A). These patients were compared with 19 patients under 65 years of age who were managed with surgical biliary bypass (Group B). In addition, the results for group A were compared with those obtained from 17 patients, 65 years of age or older (Group C), who received percutaneous transhepatic biliary drainage to evaluate the quality of residual life. RESULTS: Five patients (26.0%) in Group A had complications, including one intraabdominal abscess, one pulmonary atelectasis, and three wound infections. One death (5.3%) occurred on postoperative day 3. With respect to morbidity, mortality, and postoperative hospitalization, no statistically significant difference was noted between Groups A and B. The number of readmissions and the rate of recurrent jaundice were lower in Group A than in Group C, to a statistically significant degree (P = 0.019, P = 0.029, respectively). The median hospital-free survival period and themedian overall survival were also signifi cantly longer in Group A (P = 0.001 and P < 0.001, respectively). CONCLUSION: Surgical palliation does not increase the morbidity or mortality rates, but it does increase the survival rate and improve the quality of life in elderly patients with unresectable pancreatic head cancer.
