Regulating interfacial stability of SiO_(x) anode with fluoride-abundant solid–electrolyte interphase by fluorine-functionalized additive

Silicon oxide(SiO_(x))has received remarkable attention as a next-generation battery material;however,the sudden decrease in the cycling retention constitutes a significant challenge in facilitating its ***(2,2,2-trifluoroethyl)phosphite(TTFP),which can control parasitic reactions such as the pulverization of SiO_(x)anode materials and electrolyte decomposition,has been proposed to improve the lifespan of the *** electrochemical reduction of TTFP results in solid-electrolyte interphase(SEI)layers that are mainly composed of LiF,which occur at a higher potential than the working potential of the SiO_(x)anode and carbonate-based *** electrolyte with TTFP exhibited a substantial improvement in cycling retention after 100 cycles,whereas the standard electrolyte showed acutely decreased *** thickness of the SiO_(x)anode with TTFP also changed only slightly without any considerable delamination spots,whereas the SiO_(x)anode without TTFP was prominently deformed by an enormous volume expansion with several internal *** cycled SiO_(x)anode with TTFP exhibited less increase in resistance after cycling than that in the absence of TTFP,in addition to fewer decomposition adducts in corresponding X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS)analyses between the cycled SiO_(x)*** results demonstrate that TTFP formed SEI layers at the SiO_(x)interface,which substantially reduced the pulverization of the SiO_(x)anode materials;in addition,electrolyte decomposition at the interface decreased,which led to improved cycling retention.

Block Incremental Dense Tucker Decomposition with Application to Spatial and Temporal Analysis of Air Quality Data

How can we efficiently store and mine dynamically generated dense tensors for modeling the behavior of multidimensional dynamic data?Much of the multidimensional dynamic data in the real world is generated in the form of time-growing *** example,air quality tensor data consists of multiple sensory values gathered from wide locations for a long *** data,accumulated over time,is redundant and consumes a lot ofmemory in its raw *** need a way to efficiently store dynamically generated tensor data that increase over time and to model their behavior on demand between arbitrary time *** this end,we propose a Block IncrementalDense Tucker Decomposition(BID-Tucker)method for efficient storage and on-demand modeling ofmultidimensional spatiotemporal *** that tensors come in unit blocks where only the time domain changes,our proposed BID-Tucker first slices the blocks into matrices and decomposes them via singular value decomposition(SVD).The SVDs of the time×space sliced matrices are stored instead of the raw tensor blocks to save *** modeling from data is required at particular time blocks,the SVDs of corresponding time blocks are retrieved and incremented to be used for Tucker *** factor matrices and core tensor of the decomposed results can then be used for further data *** compared our proposed BID-Tucker with D-Tucker,which our method extends,and vanilla Tucker *** show that our BID-Tucker is faster than both D-Tucker and vanilla Tucker decomposition and uses less memory for storage with a comparable reconstruction *** applied our proposed BID-Tucker to model the spatial and temporal trends of air quality data collected in South Korea from 2018 to *** were able to model the spatial and temporal air quality *** were also able to verify unusual events,such as chronic ozone alerts and large fire events.

Objective:The purpose of the study was to identify the best sequence of therapy beginning with a tyrosine kinase inhibitor(TKI)as the first-line therapy for patients with metastatic renal cell carcinoma(mRCC)in terms of overall survival(OS),progression-free survival(PFS),and rates of discontinuation and adverse effects during the treatment ***:This is a retrospective,nationwide multicenter study of patients with mRCC after diagnosis at 10 different tertiary medical centers in Korea from January 1992 to December *** focused on patients at either“favorable”or“intermediate”risk according to the International mRCC Database Consortium criteria,and they were followed up(median 335 days).Finally,a total of 1409 patients were selected as the study *** generated a Cox proportional hazard model adjusted for covariates,and the different therapy schemes were statistically tested in terms of OS as well as *** addition,frequencies of discontinuation and adverse events were compared among the therapy ***:Of the primary patterns of treatment sequences(24 sequences),“sunitinib epazopanib”and“sunitinibeeverolimuseimmunotherapy”showed the most beneficial results in both OS and PFS with significantly lower hazards than“sunitinib”,which is the most commonly treated agent in *** that the“TKIeTKI”structure showed relatively higher discontinuation rates with higher adverse effects,the overall beneficial sequence would be“sunitinibeeverolimuseimmunotherapy”.Conclusion:Among several sequential therapy starting with TKIs,“sunitinibeeverolimuse immunotherapy”was found to be the best scheme for mRCC patients with“favorable”or“intermediate”risks.

Acupuncture ameliorates atopic dermatitis by modulating gut barrier function in a gut microbiota-dependent manner in mice

Objective: Atopic dermatitis(AD) is a chronic inflammatory skin disease that may be linked to changes in the gut microbiome. Acupuncture has been proven to be effective in reducing AD symptoms without serious adverse events, but its underlying mechanism is not completely understood. The purpose of this study was to investigate whether the potential effect of acupuncture on AD is gut ***: AD-like skin lesions were induced by applying MC903 topically to the cheek of the *** was done at the Gok-Ji(LI11) acupoints. AD-like symptoms were assessed by lesion scores,scratching behavior, and histopathological changes; intestinal barrier function was measured by fecal output, serum lipopolysaccharide levels, histopathological changes, and mRNA expression of markers involved in intestinal permeability and inflammation. Gut microbiota was profiled using 16S rRNA gene sequencing from fecal ***: Acupuncture effectively improved chronic itch as well as the AD-like skin lesions with epidermal thickening, and also significantly altered gut microbiota structure as revealed by β-diversity indices and analysis of similarities. These beneficial effects were eliminated by antibiotic depletion of gut microbiota,but were reproduced in gut microbiota-depleted mice that received a fecal microbiota transplant from acupuncture-treated mice. Interestingly, AD mice had intestinal barrier dysfunction as indicated by increased intestinal permeability, atrophy of the mucosal structure(reduced villus height and crypt depth), decreased expression of tight junctions and mucus synthesis genes, and increased expression of inflammatory mediators in the ileum. The development of portable X-ray detectors is necessary for diagnosing fractures in unconscious patients in emergency situations. However, this is quite challenging because of the heavy weight of the scintillator and silicon photodetectors. The weight and thickness of X-ray detectors can be reduced by replacing the silicon layer with an organic photodetectors. This study presents a novel bithienopyrroledione-based polymer donor that exhibits excellent photodetection properties even in a thick photoactive layer (similar to 700 nm), owing to the symmetric backbone and highly soluble molecular structure of bithienopyrroledione. The ability of bithienopyrroledione-based polymer donor to strongly suppress the dark current density (J(d) similar to 10(-10) A cm(-2)) at a negative bias (-2.0 V) while maintaining high responsivity (R = 0.29 A W-1) even at a thickness of 700 nm results in a maximum shot-noise-limited specific detectivity of D-sh* = 2.18 x 10(13) Jones in the organic photodetectors. Printed organic photodetectors are developed by slot-die coating for use in X-ray detectors, which exhibit D-sh* = 2.73 x 10(12) Jones with clear rising (0.26 s) and falling (0.29 s) response times upon X-ray irradiation. Detection reliability is also proven by linear response of the X-ray detector, and the X-ray detection limit is 3 mA.

The CoCrFeMnNi high-entropy alloys(HEAs)with a(face-centered cubic) FCC structure has garnered considerable attention for its exceptional ductility and strain hardening ***,its yield strength is insufficient for structural *** this study,strengthening mechanisms in these HEAs were investigated to gain insight into the mechanical properties according to alloy powder ***,we present a novel approach to achieve both high strength and high ductility through the creation of a bimodal structure consisting of both coarse and fine grains via gas atomization and spark plasma sintering processes.A bimodally structured HEA prepared with a mass ratio of 2:8 between coarse particles(75-106 μm) and fine particles(≤25 μm)yielded optimal results,with a strength of 491.95 MPa and elongation of 19.64%.This strength value represents an~41% increase compared with the sample that displayed a fine single microstructure(347.08 MPa for yield strength).The strength enhancement was attributed to the prevention of plastic deformation initiation from the fine particles during *** innovative approach to the creation of HEAs with bimodal structures shows promise for various applications,such as structural components that require a combination of high strength and high ductility.

Research on Cavitation Characteristics and Influencing Factors of Herringbone Gear Pump

Cavitation is a common issue in pumps,causing a decrease in pump head,a fall in volumetric efficiency,and an intensification of outlet flow *** is one of the main hazards that affect the regular operation of the *** on pump cavitation mainly focuses on mixed flow pumps,jet pumps,external spur gear pumps,***,there are few cavitation studies on external herringbone gear *** addition,pumps with different working principles significantly differ in the flow and complexity of the internal flow ***,it is urgent to study the cavitation characteristics of external herringbone gear *** with experimentalmethods,visual research and cavitation area identification are achieved through computation fluid dynamic(CFD),and changing the boundary conditions and shape of the gear rotor is *** simulation yields a head error of only 0.003%under different grid numbers,and the deviation between experimental and simulation results is less than 5%.The study revealed that cavitation causes flow pulsation at the outlet,and the cavitation serious area is mainly distributed in the meshing gap and meshing *** can be inhibited by reducing the speed,increasing the inlet pressure,and changing the helix angle can be *** example,when the inlet pressure is 5 bar,the maximumgas volume fraction in themeshing area is less than 50%.These results provide a reference for optimizing the design and finding the optimal design parameters to reduce or eliminate cavitation.

Revealing the influence of in-situ formed LiCl on garnet/Li interface for dendrite-free solid-state batteries

Inadequate interfacial contact between lithium and solid-state electrolytes(SSEs)leads to elevated impedance and the growth of lithium dendrites,presenting significant obstacles to the practical viability of solid-state batteries(SSBs).To ameliorate interfacial contact,optimizing the surface treatment of SSEs has been widely ***,the formation of LiCl through acid treatment,an equally crucial factor impacting SSB performance,has received limited attention,leaving its underlying mechanism *** study aims to shed light on SSE characteristics following LiCl formation and the removal of Li_(2)CO_(3) through acid *** seek to establish quantifiable links between SSE surface structure and SSB performance,focusing on interfacial resistance,current distribution,critical current density(CCD),and lithium *** formation of LiCl,occurring as Li_(2)CO_(3) is removed through acid treatment,effectively mitigates lithium dendrite formation on SSE *** action inhibits electron injection and reduces the diffusion rate of Li ***,acid treatment transforms the SSE surface into a lithiophilic state by eliminating surface Li_(2)CO_(3).Consequently,the interfacial resistance between lithium and SSEs substantially decreases from 487.67 to 35.99Ωcm^(2) at 25°*** leads to a notably high CCD of 1.3 mA cm^(-2) and a significantly extended cycle life of 1,000 ***,in full SSBs incorporating LiCoO_(2)cathodes and acid-treated garnet SSEs,we observe exceptional cyclability and rate *** findings highlight that acid treatment not only establishes a fundamental relationship between SSE surfaces and battery performance but also offers an effective strategy for addressing interfacial challenges in SSBs.
