Thermodynamic model for deoxidation of liquid steel considering strong metal-oxygen interaction in the quasichemical model framework

Herein,a thermodynamic model aimed at describing deoxidation equilibria in liquid steel was *** model provides explicit forms of the activity coefficient of solutes in liquid steel,eliminating the need for the minimization of internal Gibbs energy preliminarily when solving deoxidation *** elimination of internal Gibbs energy minimization is particularly advantageous during the coupling of deoxidation equilibrium calculations with computationally intensive approaches,such as computational fluid *** model enables efficient calculations through direct embedment of the explicit forms of activity coefficient in the computing *** proposed thermodynamic model was developed using a quasichemical approach with two key approximations:random mixing of metallic elements(Fe and oxidizing metal) and strong nonrandom pairing of metal and oxygen as nearest *** these approximations,the quasichemical approach yielded the activity coefficients of solutes as explicit functions of composition and temperature without requiring the minimization of internal Gibbs energy or the coupling of separate *** model was successfully applied in the calculation of deoxidation equilibria of various elements(Al,B,C,Ca,Ce,Cr,La,Mg,Mn,nb,Si,Ti,V,and Zr).The limitations of the model arising from these assumptions were also discussed.

We introduce the notion of ungraded matrix factorization as a mirror of non-orientable Lagrangian *** ungraded matrix factorization of a polynomial W,with coefficients in a field of characteristic 2,is a square matrix Q of polynomial entries satisfying Q^(2)=W·*** then show that non-orientable Lagrangians correspond to ungraded matrix factorizations under the localized mirror functor and illustrate this construction in a few *** main example is the Lagrangian submanifold RP^(2)⊂CP^(2)and its mirror ungraded matrix factorization,which we construct and *** particular,we prove a version of Homological Mirror Symmetry in this setting.

Bi2Te3-based materials have drawn much attention from the thermoelectric community due to their excellent thermoelectric performance near room ***,the stability of existing n-type Bi2（Te,Se）3materials is still low due to the evaporation energy of Se (37.70 kJ mol-1) being much lower than that of Te (52.55 kJ mol-1).The evaporated Se from the material causes problems in interconnects of the module while degrading the efficiency.

Description of Post-Stroke Cognitive Disorders at Abidjan University Hospitals, Côte d’Ivoire

Stroke patients often experience motor deficits and cognitive problems after a stroke. Objective: To improve our understanding of the cognitive consequences of stroke. Method: a descriptive and analytical cross-sectional study was conducted over 12-month period in the neurology departments of the Cocody and Treichville Hospitals in Côte d’Ivoire. Results: Out of 724 patients admitted to the neurology department, 415 (57.32%) were stroke patients, of which 145 (34.94%) were screened. The frequency of global cognitive functioning impairment was 86.21%, significantly higher than the frequency of patients without impairment, which was 13.79%. The study focused on detailing the cognitive status of stroke patients in neurology departments, assessing several cognitive functions during the subacute phase of stroke. These functions included global cognitive functioning, executive functions, language and memory. The frequency of post-stroke cognitive impairment is high among stroke patients in Abidjan. This frequency is comparable to figures found in Subsaharian stroke populations. Demographic and clinical characteristics studied included age, gender, education level, employment status, vascular diseases and cerebral affected area. Among these characteristics, only the education level and the cerebral affected area have been found significant. Conclusion: The incidence of cognitive impairment after a stroke is significantly high among stroke patients in Abidjan.

Eco-Epidemiological Characteristics of Human Rabies in Côte d’Ivoire, 2012-2017

Introduction: Human rabies is a major public health problem in many African countries, including Côte d’Ivoire. The present work aims at describing the eco-epidemiological characteristics of human rabies cases recorded in Côte d’Ivoire. Methods: This was a retrospective and prospective cross-sectional descriptive study based on epidemiological surveillance data that ran from september 2014 to december 2017. The clinical data were extracted from the database of the human rabies epidemiological surveillance management service of the national Institute of Public hygiene’s rabies centre. These data cover the period from 1 January 2012 to 31 December 2017. Results: Human rabies is endemic in Côte d’Ivoire, with most people exposed in the south and especially in the west of the country. There was no association between any of the climatological parameters (temperature, humidity, rainfall) and the occurrence of human rabies during the months of exposure to rabies infection. Conclusion: Ultimately, effective prevention and control of human rabies requires a thorough understanding of the links between climatological parameters and rabies. Health authorities must take ownership of these results if we are to achieve our goal of eliminating rabies by 2030.

TCP-1,a novel peptide to diagnose early colon cancer

A nine cyclic peptide(TCP-1)showed excellent specificity for colon ***-1 binds with human tumor tissues at early stages and mice tumor with diameters of 1-4 mm,suggesting that TCP-1 may be used for early diagnosis of colon *** mechanism of the targeted binding of TCP-1 to colon cancer was also studied using immunoprecipitation,LC-MS and *** screening and identifying of the possible binding target proteins of TCP-1,keratin,typeⅡcytoskeletal 5 was speculated to be the specific binding target protein of TCP-1 in human tumor *** studies were conducted to investigate the target-mediated drug disposition of the new tumor-specific peptide by LC-MS/*** tissue distribution study showed that TCP-1 was found only in colon tumors(the target site)in tumor mice did not bind to any other *** TCP-1 to tumor markedly increased its removal rate from blood circulation but mildly extended its staying time in *** tumor mice,a lower AUC of TCP-1(reduced by almost 35%)and 2-fold higher clearance were found compared to that of normal *** proposed metabolic pathway of TCP-1 in the kidney was also determined using LC-MS^(n)-*** high specificity and low toxicity of the peptide may be caused by its extremely tight binding to the *** applications for future clinical use,including MRI and PET/CT were also explored,and this research may promote the development of colon cancer diagnostic technology research and provide new ideas and technical routes for tumor diagnostic technology.

Microstructure, precipitates and mechanical properties of powder bed fused inconel 718 before and after heat treatment

In718 alloy was fabricated by laser powder bed fusion(PBF) for examination of microstructure, precipitates and mechanical properties in the as-built state and after different heat treatments. The as-built alloy had a characteristic fine cellular-dendritic microstructure with nb, Mo and Ti segregated along the interdendritic region and cellular boundary. The as-built alloys were then subjected to solution heat treatment(SHT) at 980°C or 1065°C for 1 h. SHT at 980°C led to the formation of δ-phase in the interdendritic region or cellular boundary. The segregation was completely removed by the SHT at 1065°C, but recrystallization was observed, and the carbides decorated along the grain boundaries. The as-built alloy and alloys with SHT at 980°C and 1065°C were two-step aged, which consisted of annealing at 720°C for8 h followed by annealing at 620°C for 8 h. Transmission electron microscopy revealed the precipitation of λ’ and λ" in all alloys after two-step aging, but the amount and uniformity of distribution varied. The Vickers hardness of the PBF In718 alloy increased from 296 HV to 467 HV after direct aging. The hardness decreased to 267 HV and 235 HV after SHT at 980°C and 1065°C, respectively, but increased to 458 HV and 477 HV followed by aging. The evolution of Young’s modulus after heat treatment exhibited similar trend to that of hardness. The highest hardness was observed for In718 after SHT at 1065°C and two-step aging due to precipitation with greater amount and uniform distribution.

Quantum logic operations on two distant atoms trapped in two optical-fibre-connected cavities

Based on the coupling of two distant three-level atoms in two separate optical cavities connected with two optical fibres, schemes on the generation of several two-qubit logic gates are discussed under the conditions of △ = δ- 2v cos πk/2 〉〉 g/2 and v-g. Discussion and analysis of the fidelity, gate time and experimental setups show that our schemes are feasible with current optical cavity, atomic trap and optical fibre techniques. Moreover, the atom-cavityfibre coupling can be used to generate an n-qubit nonlocal entanglement and transfer quantum information among n distant atoms by arranging n atom cavity assemblages in a line and connecting each two adjacent cavities with two optical fibres.

The latest developments in bio-inspired neuromorphic vision sensors can be summarized in 3 keywords:smaller,faster,and smarter.(1)Smaller:Devices are becoming more compact by integrating previously separated components such as sensors,memory,and processing *** a prime example,the transition from traditional sensory vision computing to in-sensor vision computing has shown clear benefits,such as simpler circuitry,lower power consumption,and less data redundancy.(2)Swifter:Owing to the nature of physics,smaller and more integrated devices can detect,process,and react to input more *** addition,the methods for sensing and processing optical information using various materials(such as oxide semiconductors)are evolving.(3)Smarter:Owing to these two main research directions,we can expect advanced applications such as adaptive vision sensors,collision sensors,and nociceptive *** review mainly focuses on the recent progress,working mechanisms,image pre-processing techniques,and advanced features of two types of neuromorphic vision sensors based on near-sensor and in-sensor vision computing methodologies.
