Effect of transcranial direct current stimulation on supernumerary phantom limb pain in spinal cord injured patient:A case report

BACKGROUND Supernumerary phantom limb(SPL)sensation is the experience of additional limbs,either single or a pair of *** to traumatic spinal cord injuries,we report effect of transcranial direct current stimulation(tDCS)on SPL pain in a patient with cervical cord *** SUMMARY The subject was a 57-year-old man who was diagnosed with complete spinal cord injury(C6/C5,motor level;C5/C5,sensory level;AIS-A)approximately three months *** a period of 2 wk,we administered anodal tDCS over the motor cortex for 15 minutes at an intensity of 1.5 *** that treatment,the patient experienced a decrease of SPL pain intensity and frequency,which lasted for 1 week after the end of *** Targeting the motor cortex through neuromodulation appears to be a promising option for the management of SPL pain.

This study evaluated the state of anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, general mental health, and mental well-beingamong citizens after a crowd-crush disaster in Korea. Individuals who experienced the crowd crush had significantly higheranxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) scores than those who did not (p chological damagethrough indiscriminate exposure to the public, and symptoms of PTSD appeared over a long period. It is crucial to provideessential resources for ongoing treatment and case management.

To demonstrate flexible and tandem device applications,a low-temperature Cu_(2)ZnSnSe_(4)(CZTSe)deposition process,combined with efficient alkali doping,was ***,high-quality CZTSe films were grown at 480℃by a single co-evaporation,which is applicable to polyimide(PI)*** of the alkali-free substrate,Na and K alkali doping were systematically studied and optimized to precisely control the alkali distribution in *** bulk defect density was significantly reduced by suppression of deep acceptor states after the(NaF+KF)*** the low-temperature deposition with(NaF+KF)PDTs,the CZTSe device on glass yields the best efficiency of 8.1%with an improved Voc deficit of 646 *** developed deposition technologies have been applied to *** the first time,we report the highest efficiency of 6.92%for flexible CZTSe solar cells on ***,CZTSe devices were utilized as bottom cells to fabricate four-terminal CZTSe/perovskite tandem cells because of a low bandgap of CZTSe(~1.0 eV)so that the tandem cell yielded an efficiency of 20%.The obtained results show that CZTSe solar cells prepared by a low-temperature process with in-situ alkali doping can be utilized for flexible thin-film solar cells as well as tandem device applications.

Clinical significance of surgical resection for hepatocellular carcinoma with portal vein invasion:a nationwide cohort study

Background:Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)with portal vein invasion(PVI)is considered an advanced stage with a poor *** current guidelines recommend systemic treatment for HCC with PVI,surgical resection could produce acceptable outcomes in selected *** study aimed to identify the clinical significance of surgical resection for HCC with PVI patients using a large-scale nationwide ***:This retrospective,multicenter,observational cohort analyzed data from the Korean Primary Liver Cancer Registry.A total of 16,781 patients who were newly diagnosed with HCC between 2008 and 2018 were enrolled in this *** with worse child-Turcotte-Pugh scores(≥7)or performance status(≥2)were *** them,998 patients who received treatment for HCC with PVI were included in the analysis and were divided into two groups:resection group of 151(15.1%)and palliative group of 847(84.9%)who received transarterial and systemic therapy according to the treatment *** match.ng the number and size of the tumors and model for end-stage liver disease(MELD)score between the groups,the final study cohort for analysis comprised 151(26.6%)patients in the resection group and 417(73.4%)in the palliative *** primary endpoints were overall survival(OS)and cancer-specific survival(CSS).Results:The number and maximum size of HCC did not differ between the resection and palliative groups after match.ng[1(range,1-5)vs.1(range,1-6),P=0.11 and 5.5(range,1.2-20.6)vs.6.0(range,1.0-20.5)cm,P=0.24,respectively].Tumor markers,including alpha-fetoprotein(AFP)and protein induced by vitamin K absence or antagonist-II(PIVKA-II),also did not differ between the groups(P=0.29 and P=0.36,respectively).The 5-year OS and CSS rates of the resection and palliative groups were 44.8%and 17.4%(P<0.001)and 47.7%and 18.6%(P<0.001),*** analysis showed that palliative treatment intent was the most significant risk factor for OS and CSS[odds ratio(OR

Mixed-dimensional composite structures using zero-dimensional(0D)quantum dots(QDs)and two-dimensional(2D)transition metal dichalcogenides(TMDs)materials are expected to attract great interest in optoelectronics due to the potential to generate new optical ***,we report on the unique optical characteristics of a devices with mixed dimensional vertically stacked structures based on tungsten diselenide(WSe_(2))/CdSeS QDs monolayer/molybdenum disulfide(MoS_(2))(2D/0D/2D).Specifically,it exhibits an ambipolar photoresponse characteristic,with a negative photoresponse observed in the 400-600 nm wavelength range and a positive photoresponse appeared at 700 nm *** resulted in the high negative responsivity of up to 52.22 mA·W^(−1)under 400 nm,which is 163 times higher than that of the photodetector without CdSeS *** also demonstrated the negative photoresponse,which could be due to increased carrier collision probability and non-radiative *** modeling and simulation reveal that Auger recombination among the types of non-radiative recombination is the main cause of negative photocurrent ***,we discovered ambipolar photoresponse near a specific wavelength corresponding to the energy of quantum *** study revealed interesting phenomenon in the mixed low-dimensional stacked structure and paved the way to exploit it for the development of innovative photodetection materials as well as for optoelectronic applications.
