s: Wood anatomy of Calligonum mongolicum Turcz. was describedfrom an ecological perspective. This species showed similar wood structure to that species published in the same genus. This species has distinct growth ring boundaries, ring-porosity, distinct helical thickenings, simple perforation plate, nonseptate fibre, axial parenchyma, uni-or 2-5-seriate heterogeneousrays, and alternate intervessel pitting. It was observed that there is a slightly increase of fibre length as the diameter from the pith increases. However, the vessel element length remains more or less constant from pith to bark. Furthermore, the relationships between anatomical features and adaptability to desert environments were discussed.

Household medicine lease (HML) industry originated way back in the Edo period (17C-19C), when it was promoted by the local fiefdom government to revitalize the economy. Accumulations of wealth, acquired thereafter from everywhere outside the region, have culminated in the formation of the present-day industrial cluster in Toyama, the largest in the whole area facing the Sea of Japan. Today an adaptation of the quasi-CRM (customer relationship management) business model of the HML system has proved to be a success in Mongolia. This fact seems to offer the authors some clues for dealing with those problems that healthcare and medical services in Japan and elsewhere are riddled with. In this paper, focusing on the common critical success factors (CSFs) behind the success of the authors’ prototype HML system and its recent successful application in Mongolia, the authors will analyze these factors from the perspective of CRM. The authors will then clarify the following: (1) the usefulness of the business model for ensuring primary healthcare for people in developing countries; (2) the usefulness in our ubiquitous network society of applying ICT to the HML system; (3) possible contributions that the use of the system can make toward improving the quality of our everyday healthcare and medical services in our prominently aging society; and the authors will also suggest (4) the importance of elevating "individual self-medication" to "community-based self-medication".

Pancreatic fistula is a quite rare complication in patients who undergo living donor liver transplantation(LDLT).However,in the cases that show pancreatic fistula,the limited volume of the graft and the resultant inadequate liver function may complicate the management of the *** a result,the pancreatic fistula may result in the death of the *** present 2 cases in whichendoscopic treatment was effective against pancreatic fistulas that developed after *** case 1,a 61-yearold woman underwent LDLT for primary biliary *** of a portal venous thrombus caused by a splenorenal shunt,the patient underwent portal vein reconstruction,and a splenorenal shunt was ligated on postoperative day(POD)*** main pancreatic duct was injured during the manipulation to achieve hemostasis,thereby necessitating open ***,discharge of pancreatic fluid continued even after POD *** naso-pancreatic drainage(ENPD)was performed,and this procedure resulted in a remarkable decrease in drain *** refractory pancreatic fistula healed on day 40 after *** case 2,a 58-year-old man underwent LDLT for cirrhosis caused by the hepatitis C *** the portal vein was exposed during thrombectomy,the pancreatic head was injured,which led to the formation of a pancreatic *** therapy was ineffective;therefore,ENPD was *** pancreatic fistula healed on day 38 after *** findings in these 2 cases show that endoscopic drainage of the main pancreatic duct is a less invasive and effective treatment for pancreatic fistulas that develop after LDLT.

Successful hepatic resection for recurrent hepatocellular carcinoma after lenvatinib treatment:A case report

We review the research and development of beyond Pb/s capacity space-division-multiplexed transmission technology using multi-core optical fibers for satisfying the ever-increasing traffic demand. Moreover, we present an optical packet and circuit integrated network technology to improve switching capacity and flexibility in network nodes for the rapid traffic fluctuation and the data service diversification.

AIM To investigate the therapeutic effect of combined integrin α6β4-targeted radioimmunotherapy(RIT) and PI3 K/m TOR inhibitor BEZ235 in a pancreatic cancer *** Phosphorylation of Akt, m TOR, the downstream effectors eukaryotic initiation factor 4 E binding protein 1(4 EBP1) and S6 ribosomal protein(S6) were evaluated in Bx PC-3 human pancreatic cancer cells treated with Yttrium-^(90)(^(90) Y) labeled anti-integrin α6β4 antibody(ITGA6 B4) and BEZ235 by western blotting. The cytotoxic effect of BEZ235 was investigated using a colony formation assay. Therapeutic efficacy enhancement by oral BEZ235 administration was assessed using mice bearing Bx PC-3 xenograft tumors. Tumor volume measurements and immunohistochemical analyses(cell proliferation marker Ki-67, DNA damage marker p-H2 AX and p-4 EBP1 staining) of tumors were performed for evaluation of combined treatment with ^(90) Y-ITGA6 B4 plus BEZ235, or each arm *** We found that phosphorylation of Akt(p-Akt), 4 EBP1(p-4 EBP1) and S6(p-S6) was inhibited by BEZ235. Colony formation in Bx PC-3 cells was additively suppressed by the combination of ^(90) Y-ITGA6 B4 and BEZ235. Pretreatment with BEZ235 before ^(90) Y-ITGA6 B4 exposure resulted in significant reduction of cells plating efficiency(PE)(0.54 ± 0.11 vs 2.81 ± 0.14 with 185 k Bq/m L ^(90) Y-ITGA6 B4 exposure, P < 0.01; 0.39 ± 0.08 vs 1.88 ± 0.09 with 370 k Bq/m L ^(90) Y-ITGA6 B4 exposure, P < 0.01) when 5 × 10~3 cells per dish were plated. In vivo, the combined treatment with ^(90) Y-ITGA6 B4 plus BEZ235 enhanced the inhibition of tumor growth and statistically significant differences of relative tumor volume were observed for 27 d after the treatment start date when compared with the ^(90) Y-ITGA6 B4 single injection treatment(1.03 ± 0.38 vs 1.5 ± 0.15 at Day 27, P < 0.05), and for 41 d when compared with the BEZ235 treatment alone(1.8 ± 0.7 vs 3.14 ± 1.19 at Day 41, P < 0.05).
