Challenges in early phase of implementing the 1-3-7 surveillance and response approach in malaria elimination setting:A field study from Myanmar

Background:The National Plan for Malaria Elimination(NPME)in Myanmar(2016–2030)aims to eliminate indigenous Plasmodium falciparum malaria in six states/regions of low endemicity by 2020 and countrywide by *** achieve this goal,in 2016 the National Malaria Control Program(NMCP)implemented the“1-3-7”surveillance and response *** study aims to identify the barriers to successful implementation of the NPME which emerged during the early phase of the“1-3-7”approach ***:A mixed-methods study was conducted with basic health staff(BHS)and Vector Born Disease Control Program(VBDC)staff between 2017 and 2018 in six townships of six states/regions targeted for sub-national elimination by 2020.A self-administered questionnaire,designed to assess the knowledge required to implement the“1-3-7”approach,was completed by 544 *** analysis was performed for quantitative findings and thematic analysis was conducted for qualitative findings using *** ***:Although 83%of participants reported performing the key activities in the“1-3-7”surveillance and response approach,less than half could report performing those activities within 3 days and 7 days(40 and 43%,respectively).Low proportion of BHS correctly identified six categories of malaria cases and three types of foci(22 and 26%,respectively).In contrast,nearly 80%of respondents correctly named three types of case detection *** cited challenges included‘low community knowledge on health’(43%),‘inadequate supplies’(22%),and‘transportation difficulty’(21%).Qualitative data identified poor knowledge of key surveillance activities,delays in reporting,and differences in reporting systems as the primary *** dominant perceived barrier to success was inability to control the influx of migrant workers into target jurisdictions especially in hard-to-reach *** with township medical officers and the NMCP team leaders further highlighted the necessity o

Differential Roles of Arabidopsis Dynamin-Related Proteins DRP3A,DRP3B,and DRP5B in Organelle Division

Dynaminrelated proteins （DRPs） are key components of the organelle division machineries, functioning as molecular scissors during the fission process. In Arabidopsis, DRP3A and DRP3B are shared by peroxisomal and mitochondrial division, whereas the structurallydistinct DRP5B （ARC5） protein is involved in the division of chloroplasts and peroxisomes. Here, we further investigated the roles of DRP3A, DRP3B, and DRP5B in organelle division and plant development. Despite DRP5B＇s lack of stable association with mitochondria, drp5B mutants show defects in mitochondrial division.

本文的重点是缅甸与中华人民共和国在“一带一路”倡议下的双边经济关系。缅甸对于中国来说具有重要的战略和经济意义,也是印度洋的贸易出口。从这一点来看,缅甸不仅对于中国实现在印度洋的战略目标至关重要,对于中国实现跨两大洋的长期发展目标同样具有重要意义。中国是世界第二大经济体,也是缅甸最大的贸易伙伴和投资国。由于缅甸经济发展水平较低,中国商品价格合适,因此大多数缅甸人依赖于中国的日常商品。在贸易方面,中缅两国依靠边境经济区和边境贸易,因此中缅边境地区的稳定对两国都很重要,由此可见,中国在缅甸和平进程中的地位对缅甸具有非常重要的战略意义。本研究将说明中国对缅甸经济以及缅甸和平建设与民族和解进程的重要作用。本文运用二次数据分析和文献回顾分析的方法,探讨了中国投资与中缅贸易是如何在“一带一路”倡议下支持缅甸的经济转型。同时,本文还探讨了边境贸易,尤其是与中国的边境贸易对于缅甸经济的重要程度;以及中缅关系对于中缅经贸和“一带一路”倡议的重要程度。本文将研究缅甸经济和经济转型是否能够通过与中国“一带一路”倡议相关的中缅商业走廊合作得到发展。同时,这条商业走廊也将为缅甸人提供人力资源,工作机会,技术,基础设施以及人文交流。本研究旨在加强和改善“一带一路”倡议合作中缅甸与中国的贸易不平衡,以及缅甸如何能够继续减少与中国的贸易逆差。

Multi-body Dynamics and Design Optimization for a Towed Gun

This paper focuses on dynamics modeling of multi-body system with its application in towed gun launch simulation and design optimization. The main contents are included as follows: The first, theoretical model of dynamics of multi-body system and numerical method for differential equation of motion are discussed. The principles of differential equations of motion are discussed and Runge-Kutta method is given to illustrate the application of numerical method. The second, fundamental structure of towed gun and their quantitatively relative motion is expressed. The third, forces acting on towed gun system are studied, including breech force, resistance of recoil mechanism and force of equilibrator. The fourth, the dynamics model of towed gun multi-body is constructed in ADAMS. The required data and modal neutral file for flexible body are generated by I-DEAS. The simulation based on ADAMS is the critical technique of dynamics analysis development which includes identification system configuration, determination of coordinate frames, derivation of kinematic formulas, application of load, generation and solution of the equation of motion and so on. After modeling and simulation, the predicted results are analyzed in detail, especially for firing stability and muzzle motion. The fifth, structural parameter sensitive design variables are selected for optimization. The dynamics optimization is conducted to minimize muzzle motion, including vertical velocity, elevation angle and angular velocity of muzzle at exit.

Background:Myanmar lies in the Greater Mekong sub-region of South-East Asia faced with the challenge of emerging resistance to artemisinin combination therapies(ACT).Migrant populations are more likely than others to spread ACT resistance.A vital intervention to reduce malaria transmission,resistance spread and eliminate malaria is the use of bed *** seasonal and stable migrants in an artemisinin resistance containment region of Myanmar,we compared a)their household characteristics,b)contact with health workers and information material,and c)household knowledge,access and utilization of bed ***:Secondary data from community-based surveys on 2484 migrant workers(2013 and 2014,Bago Region)were analyzed of which 37%were seasonal *** net access and utilization were assessed using a)availability of at least one bed net per household,and b)one bed net per two persons,and c)proportion of household members who slept under abed net during the previous night(Indicator targets=100%).Results:Over 70%of all migrants were from unstable work settings with short transitory *** household size was five(range 1-25)and almost half of all households had children under-five *** 10%of migrants were night-time *** than 40%of households had contact with health workers and less than 30%had exposure to information education and communication(IEC)materials,the latter being significantly lower among seasonal *** 70%of households were aware of the importance of insecticide-treated bed-nets/long-lasting insecticidal nets(ITNs/LLINs),but knowledge on insecticide impregnation and retreatment of ITNs was poor(<10%).Although over 95%of households had access to at least one bed net,the number with one bed net per two persons was grossly inadequate(13%for stable migrants and 9%for seasonal migrants,P=0.001).About half of all household members slept under a bed net during the previous ***:This study reveals important short-fa

Petrology and Geochemistry of Basalts from Tonnge Area, Tigyaing Township, Sagaing Region, Myanmar

Tonnge basalt is a relatively small basaltic field situated in the Tigyaing Township, Sagaing Region, Myanmar. This basaltic field is considered as one of the occurrences of younger extrusive rocks along the major strike-slip fault of central Myanmar. The basaltic lava flows erupted and rested upon the Upper Miocene-Pliocene Irrawaddy Sandstone. Petrological and geochemical studies of the Tonnge basalts have not been carried out yet. This paper reports the results of petrological and geochemical investigation on the basalts from Tonnge area. These data have provided insight into the origin and petrogenetic processes during evolution. The petrographic characteristics of the basalts have been studied using polarizing microscope. The major- and trace-element compositions of basalt samples were analyzed using X-Ray Fluorescence. The Tonnge basalts are porphyritic, holocrystalline and consist of phenocrysts of olivine, plagioclase ± clinopyroxene which are set in the fine-grained intergranular groundmass of olivine, pyroxene, and opaque minerals. The basalts show typical characters of alkali olivine basalts. Trace element assemblage of the studied basalts plots on various discrimination diagrams as within-plate basalt erupted in the continental setting. A relatively small volume, monogenetic nature and unique geochemical characteristics of the basaltic lavas suggest that they are derived from a single, short-lived, discrete parental magma as a result of partial melting.

东喜马拉雅构造结快速隆升时间以及雅鲁藏布江和伊洛瓦底江是否曾经相连已经争论了超过半个世纪.采用锆石U-Pb年代学等方法,对缅甸中央盆地新生代地层的“源-汇”路径开展研究.缅甸中央盆地始新统发育大量铬尖晶石、各坳陷的锆石年龄谱各不相同,表明该时期沉积物以盆地周边隆起为主要物源,不存在统一的源区;渐新世之后,源自区域变质岩的重矿物组合比例逐渐增加,盆地各坳陷碎屑锆石年龄谱特征趋于一致,均以40~70 Ma的主峰以及80~110 Ma次峰为特征,表明沉积物源区进入抹谷变质带,伊洛瓦底江雏形已经形成;由于缅甸中央盆地渐新统至下中新统完全没有喜马拉雅造山带信息,认为该时期雅鲁藏布江-伊洛瓦底江并未相连.晚中新世-更新世,喜马拉雅造山带特征组合十字石和蓝晶石以及110~130 Ma年龄峰的出现,表明伊洛瓦底江已经侵蚀到东喜马拉雅构造结,达到现今流域规模.因此,东喜马拉雅构造结快速隆升的时间大约在晚中新世.
