The Sinuiju Formation in Paekto-dong,Sinuiju City in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea has yielded Mesozoic nonmarine bivalve fossils,which is the first occurrence of such in the *** on these fossil specimens,a new Cretaceous bivalve assemblage,the Arguniella yanshanensis-Sphaerium anderssoni Assemblage is *** assemblage includes Arguniella yanshanensis,*** and Sphaerium anderssoni and can be compared with the Jehol *** age of the Sinuiju Formation is also clarified and on the basis of the bivalves and the presence of a Eosestheria–Ephemeropsis–Lycoptera(E–E–L)assemblage,the formation is not Upper Jurassic,but Lower Cretaceous in age.

This literature review investigates the significant overlap between myelin-repair signaling pathways and pathways known to contribute to hallmark pathologies of Alzheimer’s disease(AD).We discuss previously investigated therapeutic targets of amyloid,tau,and ApoE,as well as other potential therapeutic targets that have been empirically shown to contribute to both remyelination and progression of *** evidence shows that there are multiple AD-relevant pathways which overlap significantly with remyelination and myelin repair through the encouragement of oligodendrocyte proliferation,maturation,and myelin *** is a present need for a single,cohesive model of myelin homeostasis in *** determining a causative pathway is beyond the scope of this review,it may be possible to investigate the pathological overlap of myelin repair and AD through therapeutic approaches.

Predictability of polygenic risk score for progression to dementia and its interaction with APOEε4 in mild cognitive impairment

Background:The combinatorial efect of multiple genetic factors calculated as a polygenic risk score(PRS)has been studied to predict disease progression to Alzheimer’s disease(AD)from mild cognitive impairment(MCI).Previous studies have investigated the performance of PRS in the prediction of disease progression to AD by including and excluding single nucleotide polymorphisms within the region surrounding the APOE *** studies may have missed the APOE genotype-specifc predictability of PRS for disease progression to ***:We analyzed 732 MCI from the Alzheimer’s Disease Neuroimaging Initiative cohort,including those who progressed to AD within 5 years post-baseline(n=270)and remained stable as MCI(n=462).The predictability of PRS including and excluding the APOE region(PRS_(+APOE) and PRS_(−APOE))on the conversion to AD and its interaction with the APOEε4 carrier status were assessed using Cox regression ***:PRS_(+APOE)(hazard ratio[HR]1.468,95%CI 1.335-1.615)and PRS_(−APOE)(HR 1.293,95%CI 1.157-1.445)were both associated with a signifcantly increased risk of MCI progression to *** interaction between PRS_(+APOE) and APOEε4 carrier status was signifcant with a P-value of *** association of PRSs with the progression risk was stronger in APOEε4 non-carriers(PRS_(+APOE):HR 1.710,95%CI 1.244-2.351;PRS_(−APOE):HR 1.429,95%CI 1.182-1.728)than in APOEε4 carriers(PRS_(+APOE):HR 1.167,95%CI 1.005-1.355;PRS_(−APOE):HR 1.172,95%CI 1.020-1.346).Conclusions:PRS could predict the conversion of MCI to dementia with a stronger association in APOEε4 noncarriers than APOEε4 *** indicates PRS as a potential genetic predictor particularly for MCI with no APOEε4 alleles.

Origin of non-uniform plasticity in a high-strength Al-Mn-Sc based alloy produced by laser powder bed fusion

The Al-Mn-Sc-based alloys specific for additive manufacturing(AM)have been recently developed and can reach ultrahigh strength and adequate ***,these alloys commonly exhibit nonuniform plasticity during tensile deformation,which is a critical issue hindering their wider *** this work,the origin of this non-uniform plasticity of the alloys produced by laser powder bed fusion(LPBF)has been systematically investigated for the first *** results show that the loss of uniform plasticity in the alloy originates from microstructural regions containing equiaxed fine-grains(FGs)(~650nm in size)at the bottom of the melt *** micro-tensile tests,the strength of these FG regions can reach a peak of~630 *** this,an apparent yield drop occurs,followed by rapid strain *** FG behavior is associated with intermetallic particles along grain boundaries and a lack of uniform mobile dislocations during *** columnar coarse-grain(CG)regions in the remaining melt pools show uniform plasticity and moderate work ***,the quantitative calculations indicate that the solid solution strengthening in these two regions is ***,secondary Al_(3)Sc precipitates contribute to~260 MPa strength in the FG,compared to 310 MPa in the CG due to their different number *** addition,grain boundary strengthening can reach 230 MPa in the FG region;nearly double the CG region value.

Furthermore, it is not known whether multiple organic pollutants (MOP) from drinking water induce uterotrophic effects. In this study, we compared the effects of MOP on uterine wet weight by different exposure approaches (ip, sc, po) on prepubertal 21-d-old Wistar rats and Kunming mice. The multiple organic pollutants in drinking water were concentrated by solid-phase extraction (SPE), and dissolved in DMso.
