Friction Behavior of Magnetorheological Fluids with Different Material Types and Magnetic Field Strength

Magnetorheological （MR） fluid is a type of a smart material that can control its mechanical properties under a magnetic field. Iron particles in MR fluid form chain structures in the direction of an applied magnetic field, which is known as MR effect, resulting in variation of stiffness, shear modulus, damping and tribological characteristics of MR fluid. As MR effect depends on the density of particles in the fluid or the strength of a magnetic field, the experiments are conducted to evaluate the friction property under reciprocating motion by changing the types of MR fluid and the strength of a magnetic field. The material of aluminum, brass, and steel are chosen for specimen as they are the most common material in mechanical applications. The surfaces of specimen are also observed by optical microscope before and after experiments to compare the surfaces with test conditions. The comparing results show that the friction coefficient increases as the strength of a magnetic field increases in regardless of types of MR fluid or the material. Also the density of particle in MR fluid affects the friction characteristic. The results from this research can be used to improve the performance of mechanical applications using MR fluid.

Combining an amorphous carbon(a-C)film with a lubricating oil can significantly improve the friction performance and lifetime of moving mechanical ***,the friction mechanism is not well understood owing to a lack of information regarding the structure of the interface when exposed to high contact ***,we select linear alpha olefin,C5H10,as a lubricant and study the evolution of the structure of the a-C/C5H10/a-C sliding interface under contact pressure via reactive molecular dynamics *** results suggest that introducing C5H10 into the a-C/a-C interface reduces the friction coefficient by up to 93% compared with no lubricant,although the lubricating efficiency strongly depends on the contact *** particular,increasing the contact pressure not only induces the binding of the lubricant with a-C,but also facilitates the dissociation of the C5H10 carboncarbon skeleton by specific scissions,which governs the friction *** results disclose the underlying lubrication mechanism and could enable the development of new and effective lubricating systems with long lifetimes.

Hepatocellular carcinoma （HCC） is one of the most frequent complications in patients with .liver cirrhosis. HCC without cirrhosis is rareand obviously a different entity. Treatment depends on tumor stage, liver function and general performance. Results of locoregional treatment, resection or liver transplantation are superior to those of medical therapy. Surgical approaches are potentially curative. Underlying cirrhosis is usually the limiting factor for the extent of resection and persists after resection. Liver transplantation eliminates both cirrhosis and, potentially, the tumor. Whereas surgery （functional liver capacity provided） may be performed even in advanced tumors, liver transplantation is advocated in less advanced （T2） tumors in order to keep the rate of recurrent tumor low. Responsible use of scarce grafts requires sticking to this rule.

In the proposed paper,a parallel structure type Generative Adversarial Network(GAN)using edge and texture information is *** the existing GAN-based model,many learning iterations had to be given to obtaining an output that was somewhat close to the original data,and noise and distortion occurred in the output image even when learning was *** solve this problem,the proposed model consists of two generators and three discriminators to propose a network in the form of a parallel *** the network,each edge information and texture information were received as inputs,learning was performed,and each character was combined and outputted through the Combine *** this,edge information and distortion of the output image were improved even with fewer iterations than DCGAN,which is the existing GAN-based *** a result of learning on the network of the proposed model,a clear image with improved contour and distortion of objects in the image was output from about 50,000 iterations.
