The growing demand for electric vehicles highlights the need for energy storage solutions with higher densities,spotlighting Li metal anodes as potential successors to traditional Li-ion batteries(LIBs).Achieving longer calendar aging life for Li metal anodes is crucial for their practical use,given their propensity for corrosion due to a low redox potential,which leads to compromised cycling stability and significant capacity loss during *** research investigated that this susceptibility is mainly dependent on the surface area of Li metal anode and the properties of the solid electrolyte interphase(SEI),particularly its stability and growth *** research adds to this understanding by demonstrating that the amount of Li plating is a key factor in its corrosion during open-circuit storage,as assessed across various *** discovered that increasing the Li plating amount effectively reduces Coulombic efficiency(C.E.)loss during aging,due to a lower surface area-to-Li *** implies that the choice of electrolyte for optimal storage life should consider the amount of Li plating,with higher capacities promoting better storage characteristics.

Antivirus vendors and the research community employ Machine Learning(ML)or Deep Learning(DL)-based static analysis techniques for efficient identification of new threats,given the continual emergence of novel malware *** the other hand,numerous researchers have reported that Adversarial Examples(AEs),generated by manipulating previously detected malware,can successfully evade ML/DL-based *** antivirus systems,in particular,have been identified as vulnerable to such *** paper firstly focuses on conducting black-box attacks to circumvent ML/DL-based malware *** attack method utilizes seven different perturbations,including Overlay Append,Section Append,and Break Checksum,capitalizing on the ambiguities present in the PE format,as previously employed in evasion attack *** directly applying the perturbation techniques to PE binaries,our attack method eliminates the need to grapple with the problem-feature space dilemma,a persistent challenge in many evasion attack *** a black-box attack,our method can generate AEs that successfully evade both DL-based and ML-based ***,AEs generated by the attack method retain their executability and malicious behavior,eliminating the need for functionality *** thorogh evaluations,we confirmed that the attack method achieves an evasion rate of 65.6%against well-known ML-based malware detectors and can reach a remarkable 99%evasion rate against well-known DL-based malware ***,our AEs demonstrated the capability to bypass detection by 17%of vendors out of the 64 on VirusTotal(VT).In addition,we propose a defensive approach that utilizes Trend Locality Sensitive Hashing(TLSH)to construct a similarity-based defense *** several experiments on the approach,we verified that our defense model can effectively counter AEs generated by the perturbation *** conclusion,our defense model alleviates the limitation of the mos

Lithium(Li)-ion batteries have stimulated the societal transformation to clean energy *** carry-on electricity is revolutionizing how society communicates,functions,and evolves efficiently by enabling mobile electronics,zero-emission electric vehicles,and stationary energy *** preparation for the sustainable energy future,however,there are growing concerns about depleting critical elements used in the Li technology(e.g.,lithium,cobalt,and nickel),especially for large-scale applications that will accelerate the rate of elemental *** non-Li-based rechargeable batteries composed of earth-abundant elements,such as sodium,potassium,magnesium,and calcium,have been proposed and explored as alternative systems to promote sustainable development of energy *** this perspective,we discuss challenges in Li-ion batteries in the sustainability aspect and provide our opinions on the potential applications of non-Li-based *** also highlight the current status,important progress,and remaining challenges of the Li-alternative technologies.

Human Interaction Recognition (HIR) was one of the challenging issues in computer vision research due to the involvement of multiple individuals and their mutual interactions within video frames generated from their movements. HIR requires more sophisticated analysis than Human Action Recognition (HAR) since HAR focuses solely on individual activities like walking or running, while HIR involves the interactions between people. This research aims to develop a robust system for recognizing five common human interactions, such as hugging, kicking, pushing, pointing, and no interaction, fromvideo sequences usingmultiple cameras. In this study, a hybrid Deep Learning (DL) and Machine Learning (ML) model was employed to improve classification accuracy and generalizability. The dataset was collected in an indoor environment with four-channel cameras capturing the five types of interactions among 13 participants. The data was processed using a DL model with a fine-tuned ResNet (Residual Networks) architecture based on 2D Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) layers for feature extraction. Subsequently,machine learning models were trained and utilized for interaction classification using six commonly used ML algorithms, including SVM, KNN, RF, DT, NB, and XgBoost. The results demonstrate a high accuracy of 95.45% in classifying human interactions. The hybrid approach enabled effective learning, resulting in highly accurate performance across different interaction types. Futureworkwill exploremore complex scenarios involving multiple individuals based on the application of this architecture. © 2024 The Authors.

Surface area,pore properties,synergistic behavior,homogenous dispersion,and interactions between carbon matrix and metal-nanostructures are the key factors for achieving the better performance of carbon-metal based(electro)***,the traditional hydro-or solvothermal preparation of(electro)catalysts,particularly,bi-or tri-metallic nanostructures anchored graphene(g)or carbon nanotubes(CNTs),often pose to poor metal–support interaction,low synergism,and patchy *** first,bimetallic flower-like-CuFeS_(2)/Ng and cube-like-NiFeS_(2)/NCNTs nanocomposites were prepared by solvothermal *** resultant bimetallic nanocomposites were employed to derive the 2D-nano-sandwiched Fe_(2)CuNiS_(4)/NgCNTs-SW(electro)catalyst by a very simple and green urea-mediated“mix-heat”*** desired physicochemical properties of Fe_(2)CuNiS_(4)/NgCNTs-SW such as multiple active sites,strong metal-support interaction,homogenous dispersion and enhanced surface area were confirmed by various microscopic and spectroscopic *** the best of our knowledge,this is the first urea-mediated“mix-heat”method for preparing 2D-nano-sandwiched carbon-metal-based(electro)*** Fe_(2)CuNiS_(4)/NgCNTs-SW was found to be highly effective for alkaline-mediated oxygen evolution reaction at low onset potential of 284.24 mV,and the stable current density of 10 mA cm^(−2) in 1.0 m KOH for 10 ***,the Fe_(2)CuNiS_(4)/NgCNTs-SW demonstrated excellent catalytic activity in the reduction of 4-nitrophenol with good kapp value of 87.71×10^(−2)s^(-1)and excellent reusability over five ***,the developed urea-mediated“mix-heat”method is highly efficient for the preparation of metal-nanoarchitectures anchored 2D-nano-sandwiched(electro)catalysts with high synergism,uniform dispersion and excellent metal-support interaction.

Introduction Antibiotic use for acute otitis media(AOM)is one of the major sources of antimicrobial ***,the effective minimal antibiotic duration for AOM remains ***,guidelines often recommend broad ranges(5-10 days)of antibiotic use,yet the clinical impact of such a wide window has not been *** We systematically searched PubMed/MEDLINE,Embase,Scopus,Web of Science,and Cochrane Library from database inception to 6 October *** meta-analysis was conducted on randomized controlled trials that assessed antibiotic treatment for AOM in children(PROSPERO CRD42020196107).Results For amoxicillin and amoxicillin-clavulanate,7-day regimens were noninferior to 10-day regimens in clinical responses[amoxicillin:risk ratio(RR)0.919(95%CI 0.820-1.031),amoxicillin-clavulanate:RR 1.108(0.957-1.282)],except for≤2 *** the third-generation cephalosporins,7-day and 10-day regimens had similar clinical responses compared to placebo[7-day:RR 1.420(1.190-1.694),10-day:RR 1.238(1.125-1.362)compared to placebo].However,5-day regimens of amoxicillin-clavulanate and third-generation cephalosporins were inferior to 10-day *** to amoxicillin,a shorter treatment duration was tolerable with *** Our findings indicated that 1O days of antibiotic use may be unnecessarily long,while the treatment duration should be longer than 5 ***,5-day regimens would be sufficient for a modest treatment *** findings revealed that the current wide range of recommended antibiotic durations may have influenced the clinical outcome of AOM,and a narrower antibiotic duration window should be re-established.
