Vacancy engineering in metal sulfides has garnered enormous attention from researchers because of their outstanding ability to modulate the optical and physiochemical properties of ***,in the case of sulfides,the catalytic activity is drastically hindered by the quick reassembly of excitons and the photocorrosion *** designing and generating S-vacancies in metal sulfides has emerged as a potential strategy for attaining adequate water splitting to generate H_(2) and O_(2) because of the simulta-neous improvement in the optoelectronic ***,developing efficient catalysts that manifest optimal photo(electro)catalytic performance for large-scale applicability remains ***,it is of utmost interest to explore the insightful features of creating S-vacancy and study their impact on catalytic *** review article aims to comprehensively highlight the roles of S-vacancy in sulfides for amended overall water-splitting *** photocatalytic features of S-vacancies modulated metal sulfides are deliberated,followed by various advanced synthetic and characterization techniques for effectual generation and identification of vacancy *** specific aspects of S-vacancies in refin-ing the optical absorption range charge carrier dynamics,and photoinduced surface chemical reactions are critically examined for overall water splitting ***,the vouchsafing outlooks and op-portunities confronting the defect-engineered(S-vacancy)metal sulfides-based photocatalysts have been summarized.

Wide Range RH Detection with Digital Readout: Niche Superiority in Terms of Its Exceptional Performance and Inexpensive Technology

In this paper we report alumina based capacitive humidity sensor having exceptional sensing performance in wide range RH segment (10% - 90%). The developed sensor has an improvement of accuracy, reliability, and economic efficiency;apart from fast response and recovery time (~s), negligible baseline drift and high selectivity for moisture. The sensing mechanism was discussed based on their microstructures, such as surface area and mesopore volume. In general, at low humidity, surface area and water adsorption play the dominant role, while at high humidity, mesopore volume and capillary condensation become important. Standard characterization techniques such as AFM, FESEM, BET, XRD and impedance spectroscopy were employed for micro-structural and electrical characterization of RH sensor. The nano porous alumina film undergoes a huge change in dielectric upon adsorption of moisture, ensuing large change in capacitance. Additionally, a prototype RH meter has been developed with digital readout for humidity. The interface circuit was based on capacitor-to-duty cycle (CDC) converter. The proposed digital circuit has the advantage of performing adaptive measurements as a function of resolution and bandwidth. The prototype instrument can be used for sub ppm level moisture detection where stability and response are completely unaffected even in highly toxic ambience viz. 4% ammonia and 4% chlorine.

Effect of forest fire on soil microbial biomass and enzymatic activity in oak and pine forests of Uttarakhand Himalaya, India

Background:Forest fire incidences in the Himalayan region of Uttarakhand,India are very common in *** and oak are the principal and dominant species of Himalayan subtropical forest and Himalayan temperate forest,*** vegetation influences the physicochemical and biological properties of soil and forest fire in pine and oak forests may have a different effect on the physicochemical and biological properties of ***,the present study was carried out to assess the impact of forest fire on soil microbial properties,enzymatic activity,and their relationship with soil physicochemical properties in the advent of forest fire in the pine and oak forests of the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand Himalaya,***:The soil microbial biomass carbon and nitrogen,soil basal respiration,and acid phosphatase activity decreased,whereas dehydrogenase activity increased at burnt sites of both forest *** overall change in soil microbial biomass carbon was 63 and 40%at the burnt oak forest and burnt pine forest,*** activity and acid phosphatase activity showed a strong positive correlation with soil organic matter(r=0.8)and microbial indices,*** ratio of soil microbial biomass carbon/nitrogen was reduced at burnt sites of both forest *** analysis results showed that fire had a significant impact on soil *** soil basal respiration was linked with macro-and micronutrients at burnt sites,whereas at control sites,it was linked with physicochemical properties of soil along with ***:Forest fire had a significant impact on soil properties of both forest *** impact of forest fire on soil microbial biomass carbon was stronger in the oak forest than in the pine *** type influenced soil enzymatic activity at burnt *** bacterial community was dominated over fungi in burnt sites of both *** microbial indices can be used as a selective measure to assess

In today’s world,image processing techniques play a crucial role in the prognosis and diagnosis of various diseases due to the development of several precise and accurate methods for medical *** analysis of medical images is essential for doctors,as manual investigation often leads to inter-observer *** research aims to enhance healthcare by enabling the early detection of diabetic retinopathy through an efficient image processing *** proposed hybridized method combines Modified Inertia Weight Particle Swarm Optimization(MIWPSO)and Fuzzy C-Means clustering(FCM)*** FCM does not incorporate spatial neighborhood features,making it highly sensitive to noise,which significantly affects segmentation *** method incorporates a modified FCM that includes spatial functions in the fuzzy membership matrix to eliminate *** results demonstrate that the proposed FCM-MIWPSO method achieves highly precise and accurate medical image ***,segmented images are classified as benign or malignant using the Decision Tree-Based Temporal Association Rule(DT-TAR)*** analysis with existing state-of-the-art models indicates that the proposed FCM-MIWPSO segmentation technique achieves a remarkable accuracy of 98.42%on the dataset,highlighting its significant impact on improving diagnostic capabilities in medical imaging.
