Psychometric Properties among Japanese Women Based on the Multidimensional Assessment of Women’s Experience of Childbirth

Aims/Background: Perceived experiences of childbirth are important for mothers as they affect their self-esteem, mother-child interactions, subsequent mother-child bonding, and their desire for another child. This study examined the factor structure and construct validity of Salmon and Drew’s Multidimensional Assessment of Women’s Experience of Childbirth (MAWEC) in Japanese. Design/Methods: This study conducted a questionnaire survey using the Japanese version of the MAWEC and other variables with 759 women with infants in Japan. The participants’ mean (standard deviation [SD], range) age was 31.9 (5.3, 18 - 46) years. A total of 353 (46.5%) participants were primiparous and 384 (50.6%) were multiparous, and 22 (2.9%) did not answer. The data were randomly divided into two groups for exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and separately analyzed the positive- and negative-worded items. I conducted EFA using the maximum-likelihood method with PROMAX rotation from one-through two- and three-factor structures. Different factor structure models were compared in terms of CFAs using, as indicator of goodness-of-fit, chi-square/df, comparative fit index (CFI), and root mean square of error approximation (RMSEA). Results: This study showed that a bifactor model for the MAWEC with four subscales (positive emotion, positive coping, negative emotion, and negative coping) fit the data the best. These four subscales were associated with demographic, obstetric, neonatal, and feeding characteristics. For example, primiparas were more vulnerable to coping aspects of perceived childbirth experiences, including sense of mastery over the delivery process and ability to enjoy the delivery. Gestational age at birth was associated with emotional aspects of perceived childbirth experiences. In this paper, we discuss about the near range radar applied to various environmental applications and disaster mitigation issues. Synthetic aperture radar（SAR） processing or migration is the key technology in near range radar imaging, which can be used in ground penetrating radar（GPR） and ground-based synthetic aperture radar（GB-SAR）. We demonstrate some applications which include GPR for humanitarian demining, GPR for archaeological survey, GB-SAR for landslide monitoring and nondestructive inspection of wooden buildings. We also demonstrate a new array GPR system “Yakumo”, which was used for archaeological survey for demonstration of advanced multi-static radar signal processing for better radar imaging.

Purpose–The purpose of this paper is to propose a fault-tolerant technology for increasing the durability of application programs when evolutionary computation is performed by fast parallel processing on many-core processors such as graphics processing units(GPUs)and multi-core processors(MCPs).Design/methodology/approach–For distributed genetic algorithm(GA)models,the paper proposes a method where an island’s ID number is added to the header of data transferred by this island for use in fault ***–The paper has shown that the processing time of the proposed idea is practically negligible in applications and also shown that an optimal solution can be obtained even with a single stuck-at fault or a transient fault,and that increasing the number of parallel threads makes the system less susceptible to ***/value–The study described in this paper is a new approach to increase the sustainability of application program using distributed GA on GPUs and MCPs.

Background Cerebral amyloid angiopathy is a common cause of subcortical hemorrhage in older *** open hematoma removal may be performed for severe subcortical hemorrhage,its safety in patients with cerebral amyloid angiopathy has not been established,and postoperative rebleeding may ***,this study aimed to investigate factors associated with postoperative *** Out of 145 consecutive patients who had undergone craniotomy for surgical removal of subcortical intracerebral hemorrhage between April 2010 and August 2019 at a single institution in Japan,we examined 109 patients with subcortical hemorrhage who met the inclusion *** excluding 30 patients whose tissue samples were unsuitable for the study,the final study cohort comprised 79 *** Of the 79 patients,50(63%)were diagnosed with cerebral amyloid angiopathy(cerebral amyloid angiopathy group)and 29(37%)were not diagnosed with noncerebral amyloid angiopathy(noncerebral amyloid angiopathy group).Postoperative rebleeding occurred in 12 patients(24%)in the cerebral amyloid angiopathy group and in 2 patients(7%)in the noncerebral amyloid angiopathy *** prothrombin time-international normalized ratio and intraoperative bleeding volume were significantly associated with postoperative rebleeding in the cerebral amyloid angiopathy group(odds ratio=42.4,95%confidence interval=1.14-1578;p=0.042 and odds ratio=1.005,95%confidence interval=1.001-1.008;p=0.007,respectively).Conclusions Patients with cerebral amyloid angiopathy-related cerebral hemorrhage who are receiving antithrombotic therapy,particularly warfarin therapy,are at a high risk of postoperative *** registration Registry and Registration Number of the study:19-220,2019/12/23,retrospectively registered.

BACKGROUND Walled-off necrosis(WON)is a late complication of acute pancreatitis possibly with a fatal *** for WON spreading to the retroperitoneal space,percutaneous endoscopic necrosectomy(PEN)can be an alternate approach to surgical necrosectomy,particularly for the older individuals or patients with poor condition because of *** SUMMARY An 88-year-old man was admitted to our hospital with a *** retrograde cholangiopancreatography(ERCP)was performed to improve jaundice;however,post-ERCP pancreatitis *** inflammation of pancreatitis spread widely from the right retroperitoneal cavity to the pelvis,and WON was formed 4 wk later.A percutaneous drainage tube was placed into the WON under computed tomography ***,the drainage did not ameliorate clinical symptoms including fever,which assured less invasive necrosectomy.A metallic stent for the upper gastrointestinal(GI)tract was placed from the percutaneous drainage *** upper GI endoscope was inserted into the inside of the WON through the metallic stent,and the necrotic tissues were bluntly removed with a snare *** times of these necrosectomies resulted in the near-complete removal of necrotic *** procedures consequently abated his fever and remarkable improvement in blood *** PEN for WON occurring in the retroperitoneal space was safe and effective for very old individuals.

We study specific changes in repetitive firing in the two-dimensional Hindmarsh-Rose （2dHR） oscillatory sys- tem that undergoes a bifurcation transition from the supercritical Andronov-Hopf （All） type to the subcritical Andronov-Hopf （SAH） type. We identify dynamical mechanisms which are responsible for changes of the repeti- tive firing rate during the AH to SAH bifurcation transitions. These include frequency-shift functions in response to small perturbations of a timescale parameter, its multiplicative parameter, and an external input current in the 2dHR oscillatory system. The frequency-shift functions are explicitly represented as functions relating to the phase response curves （PRCs）. Then, we demonstrate that when the timescale is normal and relatively fast, the repetitive firing rate slightly increases and decreases respectively during the AH to SAH bifurcation transition with a change of the intrinsic parameter, whereas it decreases during the SAH to AH bifurcation transition with an increase in the timescale. By analyzing the three different frequency-shift functions, we show that such changes of the repetitive firing rate depend largely on changes of the PRC size. The PRC size for the SAH bifurcation shrinks to the PRC size for the AH bifurcation.

Zinc oxide, which has photocatalytic activity, is used as white pigment for cosmetics. A certain degree of sebum on the skin is decomposed by ultraviolet radiation in sunlight. In this work, zinc oxide was shaken with phosphoric acid to synthesize a white pigment for cosmetics. Zinc oxide was set with 0.1 mol/L of phosphoric acid at P/Zn = 1/1 and 1/2, and then shaking in hot water for 1 h. The chemical composition, powder properties, photocatalytic activity, color phase, and smoothness of the obtained powder were studied. The P/Zn ratio in preparation had an effect on the reaction between phosphoric acid and zinc oxide. The photocatalytic activity of zinc oxide was inhibited by phosphoric acid treatment. The obtained samples had enough high reflectance at the visible light region.

The interesting task here is to study the frequency-current(f–I)curve and phase response curve(PRC),subject to neural temperature variations,because the f–I curve and PRC are important measurements to understand dynamical mechanisms of generation of neural oscillations,and the neural temperature is widely known to significantly affect the ***,little is discussed about how the temperature affects the f–I curve and *** this study,frequencies of the neural oscillations,modulated with the temperature variations,are quantified with an average of the *** frequency gradient with respect to temperature derived here gives clear classifications of the PRC,regardless of the *** is also indicated that frequency decreases with an increase in temperature,resulted from bifurcation switching of the saddle-homoclinic to the saddle-node on an invariant circle.
