The comparison of survival between active surveillance or watchful waiting and focal laser ablation in patients with low-risk prostate cancer

Prostate cancer(PCa)is the second-most common cancer among *** active surveillance or watchful waiting(AS/WW)and focal laser ablation(FLA)can avoid the complications caused by radical *** to make the choice between these options in clinical practice needs further ***,this study aims to compare and analyze their effects based on overall survival(OS)and cancer-specific survival(CSS)to obtain better long-term *** included patients with low-risk PCa from the Surveillance Epidemiology and End Results database of 2010–*** Cox proportional hazard analyses were conducted for OS and CSS in the two *** eliminate bias,this study applied a series of sensitivity ***,Kaplan–Meier curves were plotted to obtain survival status.A total of 18841 patients with low-risk PCa were included,with a median of 36-month *** to the multivariate Cox proportional hazard regression,the FLA group presented inferior survival benefits in OS than the AS/WW group(hazard ratio[HR]:2.13,95%confidence interval[CI]:1.37–3.33,P<0.05).After adjusting for confounders,the result persisted(HR:1.69,95%CI:1.02–2.81,P<0.05).According to the results of the sensitivity analysis,the inverse probability of the treatment weighing model indicated the same result in *** conclusion,AS/WW and FLA have the advantage of fewer side effects and the benefit of avoiding overtreatment compared with standard *** study suggested that AS/WW provides more survival benefits for patients with low-risk *** relevant researches and data will be needed for further clarity.

All-dielectric terahertz metasurface governed by bound states in the continuum with high-Q factor

The method of terahertz(THz)resonance with a high-quality(high-Q)factor offers a vital physical mechanism for metasurface sensors and other high-Q factor ***,it is challenging to excite the resonance with a high-Q factor in metasurfaces with proper sensitivity as well as figure of merit(FOM)***,an all-dielectric metasurface composed of two asymmetrical rectangular blocks is *** and silicon are the materials applied for the substrate and cuboids *** distinct resonance governed by bound states in the continuum(BIC)is excited by forming an asymmetric cluster by a novel hybrid method of cutting and moving the *** investigation focuses on analyzing the transmission spectra of the metasurface under different variations in structural parameters and the loss of silicon refractive *** the proposed defective metasurface serves as a transmittance sensor,it shows a Q factor of 1.08×10^(4)and achieves an FOM up to 4.8×10^(6),which is obtained under the asymmetric parameter equalling 1μ***,the proposed defective metasurface is sensitive to small changes in refractive *** the thickness of the analyte is 180μm,the sensitivity reaches a maximum value of 578 GHz/***,the proposed defective metasurface exhibits an extensive number of possible applications in the filters,biomedical diagnosis,security screening,and so on.

Target Detection on Water Surfaces Using Fusion of Camera and LiDAR Based Information

To address the challenges of missed detections in water surface target detection using solely visual algorithms in unmanned surface vehicle(USV)perception,this paper proposes a method based on the fusion of visual and LiDAR point-cloud projection for water surface target ***,the visual recognition component employs an improved YOLOv7 algorithmbased on a self-built dataset for the detection of water surface *** algorithm modifies the original YOLOv7 architecture to a Slim-Neck structure,addressing the problemof excessive redundant information during feature extraction in the original YOLOv7 network ***,this modification simplifies the computational burden of the detector,reduces inference time,and maintains ***,to tackle the issue of sample imbalance in the self-built dataset,slide loss function is ***,this paper replaces the original Complete Intersection over Union(CIoU)loss function with the Minimum Point Distance Intersection over Union(MPDIoU)loss function in the YOLOv7 algorithm,which accelerates model learning and enhances *** mitigate the problem of missed recognitions caused by complex water surface conditions in purely visual algorithms,this paper further adopts the fusion of LiDAR and camera data,projecting the threedimensional point-cloud data from LiDAR onto a two-dimensional pixel *** significantly reduces the rate of missed detections for water surface targets.

Microstructural characterization and mechanical properties of(TiC+TiB)/TA15 composites prepared by an in-situ synthesis method

Titanium matrix composites reinforced with ceramic particles are considered a promising engineering material due to their combination of high specific strength,low density,and high *** this study,the TA15-based composites reinforced with a volume fraction of 10% to 25%(TiB+TiC)were prepared using powder metallurgy and casting *** characterization and phase constitution were examined using optical microscopy(OM),scanning electron microscopy(SEM),and X-ray diffraction(XRD).In addition,the microhardness,room temperature(RT)and high temperature(HT)tensile properties of the composites were *** revealed that the reinforcements are distributed uniformly even in the composites with a high volume of TiB and ***,as the volume fraction exceeds 15%,TiB and TiC particles become coarsening and exhibit rod-like and dendritic-like *** increases gradually from 321.2 HV for the base alloy to a maximum of 473.3 HV as the reinforcement increases to 25vol.%.Tensile test results indicate that a reinforcement volume fraction above 20% is beneficial for enhancing tensile strength and yield strength at high temperatures,but it has an adverse effect on room temperature ***,if the reinforcement volume fraction is below 20%,it can improve high-temperature elongation when the temperature exceeds 600℃.

本研究对冷加工态TA15钛合金板材进行了750℃、800℃、850℃和900℃四种温度的热处理,并深入探讨了处理后的显微组织、室温拉伸性能、弯曲性能、洛氏硬度和高温性能。结果显示,在750℃时,板材的横向为等轴组织,纵向含有少量拉长组织;而在800℃至900℃范围内,板材的横向和纵向均形成了均匀细小的等轴组织。随着热处理温度从750℃升至850℃,板材的拉伸强度逐渐降低,而伸长率、弯曲角度则有所增加,洛氏硬度逐渐下降。值得注意的是,800℃至850℃热处理的板材显示出优异的综合性能,特别是850℃热处理的板材已完全再结晶。因此,建议TA15钛合金冷轧板材在这个温度范围内进行热处理,以获得最佳的显微结构和力学性能。

The role of prostate-specific antigen density and negative multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging in excluding prostate cancer for biopsynaive men:clinical outcomes from a high-volume center in China

This study aimed to assess the role of prostate-specific antigen density(PSAD)and negative multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging(mpMRI)in predicting prostate cancer for biopsy-naive men based on a large cohort of the Chinese *** a prostate biopsy database between March 2017 and July 2021,we retrospectively identified 240 biopsy-naive patients with negative prebiopsy mpMRI(Prostate Imaging Reporting and Data System version 2[PI-RADS v2]score<3).Logistic regression analysis was performed to select the potential predictors for clinically significant prostate cancer(csPCa).Receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve analysis and area under the ROC curve(AUC)were performed to assess the diagnostic *** negative predictive values of mpMRI in excluding any cancer and csPCa were 83.8%(201/240)and 90.8%(218/240),respectively.R0C curve analysis indicated that PSAD was the most promising predictor,with an AUC value of 0.786(95%confidence interval[CI]:0.699-0.874),and multiparametric logistic regression analysis confirmed that higher PSAD remained a significant marker for predicting csPCa(odds ratio[0R]:10.99,95%CI:2.75-44.02,P<0.001).Combining negative mpMRI and PSAD below 0.20 ng ml^(-2)obviously increased the predictive value in excluding PCa(91.0%,101/111)or csPCa(100.0%,111/111).If a PSAD below 0.20 ng ml^(-2)was set as the criterion to omit biopsy,nearly 46.3%of patients(463 per 1000)with negative mpMRI could safely avoid unnecessary biopsy,with approximately 4.2%of patients(42 per 1000)at risk of missed diagnosis of PCa and no patients with csPCa missed.A PI-RADS v2 score<3 and a PSAD<0.20 ng ml^(-2)could be potential criteria for the Chinese population to omit prompt biopsy safely.

Analysis of PAX6 gene in a Chinese aniridia family

Aniridia is a dominantly inherited eye anomaly characterized by the near or complete absence of the iris with an incidence of approximately 1：80 000.1 Other ocular complications include glaucoma, cataract, and optic nerve hypoplasia. Aniridia can occur by itself, showing an autosomal dominant inheritance, or as part of the WAGR syndrome （Wilm＇s tumor, aniridia, genitourinary abnormalities, and mental retardation）.2 The PAX6 gene, a transcriptional regulator, is of high homology in many kinds of animal, which involves in ocular morphogenesis3 and responsible for aniridia.＂ It is located on chromosome 11p13 and consists of 14 exons with the initiation codon in exon 4 and the termination codon in exon 13.
