Capnodium berberidis,a sooty mould fungus,previously reported only from Pakistan in 1978,was recently observed on Berberis lycium in Jot Pass,district Chamba of Himachal Pradesh,*** lycium is a well-known small to medium sized spiny,woody,deciduous or evergreen medicinal and ornamental plant distributed throughout temperate and subtropical regions of the *** symptoms appeared as thin,black to dark brown,easily removed superficial layer of hyphae on various parts of host plant including leaves,stem,twigs and *** detailed studies on its morphology and taxonomy revealed it a sooty mould fungus Capnodium *** per literature consulted,this is the first report of Capnodium berberidis from India and probably second from world.

The role of magnesium (Mg) in improving the high temperature mechanical properties of the superalloys, like creep, fatigue, tensile ductility, impact toughness etc. have been vividly studied by several authors. On the other hand, very few authors have contradicted the view of any beneficial effect of Mg on the mechanical properties. This review presents a summary of the open literature related to the effect of Mg on the microstructure and mechanical properties of superalloys and from which further metallurgical research on the unexamined topics are proposed.

Haematological adverse effects of antipsychotics are rare but life threatening. Existing literature is limited to case reports, which are mostly reported on second generation antipsychotics(clozapine, olanzapine, risperidone, quetiapine). Elderly individuals are at risk of developing side effects with any psychotropics. Olanzapine is commonly used for the management of psychotic symptoms as well as for the management of behavioural and psychological problems with dementia in the elderly. In this case report, the authors report thrombocytopaenia and leucopaenia in an elderly individual with schizophrenia which developed after initiation of olanzapine and reverted back after stoppage of the drug. This case report highlights that the elderly are susceptible to develop haematological side effects with olanzapine and hence monitoring may be essential.

the basis of available publications.A total of 103 species belonging to 15 genera of cercosporoid fungi have been reported from Himachal Pradesh on 118 plant species belonging to 46 *** species richness of cercosporoid fungi in the region was as follows;Cercospora(50),Pseudocercospora(23),Ramularia and Passalora(7 each),Stigmina&Mycosphaerella(3 each),Sirosporium(2),Cercosporella,Distomycovellosiella and Mycovellosiella,Neocercosporidium,Neopseudocercosporella,Nothopassalora,Rosisphaerella&Teratosphaeria(1 each).The highest numbers of cercosporoid fungi were recorded on plant hosts of the family Solanaceae(12 species)followed by Fabaceae(10 species),Asteraceae and Rosaceae(8 species each),Amaranthaceae(5 species),Malvaceae and Smilaceae(4 species each),Acanthaceae,Poaceae,Polygonaceae and Ranunculaceae(3 species each),while the rest of families were found associated with 1-2 cercosporoid speices.

A rust fungus occurring on bamboo leaves from Bilaspur,Himachal Pradesh,North India is described and illustrated.A critical morphological and microscopic examination revealed it to be Kweilingia *** is the synonym of Dasturella divina,the type species for the fungal genus Dasturella,named in 1943 from infected leaf samples of bamboo(Bambusa sp.).After conducting a literature survey it was found that this fungus is the first to be reported from North Western Himalayas.A detailed taxonomic description of this fungus along with its distribution is provided.

AIM To evaluate the effectiveness of quetiapine and haloperidol in patients of delirium referred to psychiatry consultation liaison *** The study followed a single blind randomised controlled trial ***-two patients in the haloperidol group and 31 patients in the quetiapine group were assessed at the baseline and 6 consecutive *** dosing regimen(haloperidol:0.25-1.25 mg;quetiapine 12.5-75 mg/d) was *** Rating Scale-Revised-98(DRS-R-98) and mini mental status examination(MMSE) were the primary and secondary efficacy measures *** Baseline DRS-R-98 severity score and MMSE scores did not differ between the 2 study *** baseline to day 6,there was significant reduction in the total DRS-R-98 scores,DRS-R-98 cognitive domain scores,DRS-R-98 non-cognitive domain scores and significant increase in the MMSE scores in both the *** the groups did not differ on any of the assessments in terms of DRS-R98 and MMSE *** effectiveness of both the medications was similar in adult and elderly(≥ 60 years) *** the end of the trial,68.75% and 67.74% of subjects in the haloperidol and quetiapine group respectively had mean DRS-R-98 scores below *** 6th day,12(37.5%) patients in haloperidol group and 9(29.03%) patients in the quetiapine group hadDRS-R98 score of "0" with no significant difference between the two groups(P = 0.47).CONCLUSION Quetiapine is as effective as haloperidol in the management of delirium.

Prevalence of Seed-Borne Fungi Associated with Seeds of Some Selected Flowers

The prevalence of fungi associated with seeds of some selected local flowers namely cosmos, marigold, calendula, and periwinkle collected from three different locations (Arboriculture Garden, Ramna Park Garden, and Horticulture Garden) in Dhaka district and four hybrid flower seeds (African marigold, cockscomb, petunia, and Portulaca) collected from Momin Beej Ghar, Dhaka district were recorded. The results showed that the highest percent germination (91.38%) of cosmos was obtained from Horticulture garden’s seed, marigold (95.25%) obtained from Arboriculture garden’s seed, and calendula (65.88%) periwinkle (79.38%) obtained from Ramna park garden’s seeds. But in the case of hybrid seeds, African marigold showed the highest percent seed germination (98.25%). The Horticulture garden’s seed was better than the others considering the incidence of fungi in all local flower seeds tested. But periwinkle was the lowest affected seed (12.58%, 12.20%, 8.07% incidence) and marigold was the highest affected seed (40.31%, 35.33%, 31.33% incidence) collected from Arboriculture Garden, Ramna Park, and Horticulture Garden, respectively. But in hybrid flower seeds, the lowest fungal infection (3.14%) was recorded in Portulaca and petunia seeds whereas the highest (6.20%) was in African marigold seeds.

研究了微合金化管线钢内几种Nb、Ti和Mo组合（合有复合沉淀物）对非等温奥氏体晶粒长大动力学的影响。研究目的在于开发一种晶粒长大模型，用以预测焊接热影响区（HAz）内的奥氏体晶粒尺寸。交货态钢的电子显微检查术证实存在富Ti、富Nb和富Mo沉淀物。随后，钢经受奥氏体化热处理，找出适于HAZ热周期各种典型加热速率下的峰值温度。建议利用平均场方法，模拟富Nb沉淀物的溶解。在钉扎颗粒存在的情况下，将该模型与齐纳奥氏体晶粒长大模型接合使用。两者接合便可精确预测沿非等温加热路径（模拟选择的HAz热廓线）的奥氏体晶粒尺寸。
