A monoclinic(2M) polytype of sideronatrite,NaFe(SO)(OH)(HO),was found at Xitieshan,Qinghai Province,China.The crystal structure was solved by direct methods and refined by full-matrix least-squares(R1 = 3.88%) in the space group P12/n1 with a = 7.1559(14),b = 7.2845(15),c = 20.889(4) A,β = 99.37(3)°,V= 1074.4(4) A,and Z = 4,using 2207 observed reflections with I>2σ(I).The atomic arrangement of sideronatrite-2M confirms a theoretical model in space group P2/a,previously proposed in literature.The structure of sideronatrite-2M is based on ferric-sulfate chains of 7 A neriodicitv.similar to those observed in the structures of the orthorhombic polytype and of metasideronatrite. The system of hydrogen bonds has been determined.

The crystal structure of liberite was refined by single-crystal X-ray methods.Monoclinic,space group P1n1,a=4.7022(9),b=4.9443(10),c=6.1026(12)A,β=90.09(3)°,cell content 2×LiBeSiO,R1=0.024,wR2=0.059.The main features of the atomic arrangement remain unchanged,this means that liberite belongs to a distorted wurtzite-type compound with Be,Si and two kinds of Li in tetrahedral coordination.But in the refined structure the interatomic distances agree with experience in stereochemistry:average M-O distances are Be-O=1.655(10),Si-0=1.631(4),Li-O=1.983(13)and 1.973(25)A,for Li(1)and Li(2),respectively.Also the bond length distortions of the Li(1)O-and Li(2)O-tetrahedra,0.62 and 1.14,respectively,are in agreement with a statistical study of the shape of LiO-tetrahedra in the literature.

Hezuolinite is a new mineral species occurring as an accessory mineral in the Saima alkaline complex in Liaoning Province,NE China.The mineral occurs in a green-aegirine nepheline syenite as non-metamict grains and is associated with microcline,nepheline,aegirine,biotite,eudialyte,rinkite and titanite.The anhedral crystals are several hundred micrometres in size. The mineral is black with dark-brown streak.It is translucent with a resinous luster.Cleavage or parting was not observed.It is brittle with a conchoidal fracture.The hardness is VHN683-964 kg mm(5.5-6 on Mohs’ scale).The measured density is 4.28 g cm, and the calculated value is 4.30 g cm from the empirical chemical formula.Optically,hezuolinite is biaxial negative,with n>1.8 and 2V = 75°.The dispersion is strong with r>v.The mineral shows a strong pleochroism,from pale brown to dark brown. The average of twenty-five analyses leads to the empirical formula(SrCeLaCaNaNdPrThSm Eu∑)(ZrFeHfMn∑)(TiFeFeAlNb∑)TiO(SiO),on the basis of O = 22.The simplified formula is(Sr,REE)Zr(Ti,Fe,Fe)TiO(SiO),ideally SrREEZr(Fe)TiO(SiO). The five strongest reflections in the X-ray powder-diffraction pattern[d in A(I)(hkl)]are:2.98(100)(-204),3.02(90)(-313), 1.96(90)(024),2.18(40)(-422),and 2.84(70)(020).The structure was solved and refined in space group C2/m,with a = 13.973(3), b = 5.6984(11),c = 11.988(2) A,β= 114.10(1)°,V= 871.3(3) A,Z = 2,to R1 = 0.037,wR2 = 0.097. The structure of hezuolinite is similar to rengeite.The changes of Sr-O,Zr-O and Ti(1)-O distances confirm partial substitutions of REE for Sr,and Fe for Ti.The sites of O(1),O(2) and O(3) of the hezuolinite structure(C2/m) are split into O(1) and O(1’),O(2) and O(2’),O(3) and O(3’) sites in the rengeite structure(P2/a),respectively.The Si(1)-O(7)-Si(2) angle in hezuolinite is 175.8°,and is significantly less bent than in rengeite(169.7°).The observed systematic extinctions are in agreement with space group C2/m. Hezuolinite is a member of the perrierite-subgroup and can be considered as a chemical intermediate

Mimetite-2M,ideally Pb(AsO)Cl,is a new polymorph of mimetite in the apatite group occurring as a skarn mineral in the Xianghualing Sn-polymetallic ore field,Linwu County,Hunan Province,P.R.China.The associated minerals include fluorite, calcite,cassiterite,pyrite,sphalerite,pyrrhotite,galena,spinel,zinnwaldite and phlogopite.Mimetite-2M is pale yellow and forms pseudo-hexagonal columnar crystals of about 1 mm to 5 mm in size.The empirical formula is PbAsOCl. The super-structure reflections of mimetite were observed and require doubling of the a-axes of mimetite-H.The crystal structure was refined in space group P2;with a = 20.422(4),b= 7.4379(15),c= 20.435(4) A.,β= 119.95(3)°,V = 2689.5(9) A,Z = 8, R1 = 0.067,wR2 = 0.180. The largest differences in positions of analogous atoms between the hexagonal phase mimetite-H and monoclinic mimetite-2M occur in the positions relative to the O(3) and Cl atoms in the hexagonal phase.The actual positions of the atoms O(3) to O(3) and Cl in mimetite-2M results in the reduction of symmetry to monoclinic with both doubled a-axes of the hexagonal phase.

Ferrotaaffeite-2N’2S,ideally BeFeAlO with hexagonal symmetry P6mc,is a new mineral species of the taaffeite group(IMA No,2011-025) occurring as a skarn mineral in the Xianghualing Sn-polymetallic ore field,Linwu County,Hunan Province,People’s Republic of China.It was found near the outer contact of the Laizhiling A-type granite pluton and in the Middle-Upper Devonian carbonate rocks of the Qiziqiao Formation.The associated minerals are Fe-rich magnesiotaaffeite- 2N’2S,ferronigerite-2N1s,cassiterite,liberite,pyrite,sphalerite,pyrrhotite,galena,spinel,and phlogopite.The mineral forms tabular crystals about 100μm in size.It is dark green to dark grey with a white streak,transparent,and has a vitreous lustre. Cleavage is fair on {001}.It is brittle,with a conchoidal fracture.The hardness is VHN 1801-2404 kg/mm(8.5-9 on the Mohs scale).No fluorescence in long- or short-wave ultraviolet radiation was observed.The calculated density from the empirical chemical formula is 3.99 g/cm.The Gladstone-Dale relationship gives N= 1.82.The empirical formula for the investigated ferrotaaffeite-2N’2S is Be(FeMgZnMnSn)AlO,.The simplified formula is Be(Fe,Mg,Zn)AlO.The strongest five reflections in the X-ray powder diffraction pattern[d in A(I) hkl]are:2.43(100) 114,2.60(90) 016,1.425(90)220, 2.86(80) 110,and 1.473(80) 0210.The unit-cell parameters refined from the powder data are a 5.706(8),c 18.352(3) A,and V 517.46(8) ,Z = 2.The associated Fe-rich magnesiotaaffeite-2N’2S has empirical formula Be(MgFeZnMn Sn)AlO.Its structure was solved and refined in space group P6mc,with a 5.6978(8),b 5.6978(8),c 18.373(4) A, 7516.57(15) ,to R = 0.043,wR = 0.137.

Some white fine crystals adherent to the clothes of the female corpse and to the top of the inner coffin were discovered during the investigation of Mawangdue Han Tomb No. 1 in 1972. Some of these crystals appeared to be 'grown out' of the pores in the silks (Photo 2). They had been first considered as a kind of ancient antiseptics, however our studies later identifed them with L-tyrosine. This paper is an attempt to discuss the origin and effect of these crystals, giving some additional results.

夏塞银多金属矿床地处我国四川省巴塘县茶洛乡,按照大地构造单元划分其位于川西义敦岛弧造山带的中央地段。它是我国最早发现的大陆碰撞型矿床。该矿床以含高品位的Ag,伴生Sn、Cu、Bi、Cd、Au,以及众多的硫化物及硫盐为特征,其种类多达50种,尤以辉锑铅银矿及银锑黝铜矿系列最丰富,系该矿山银资源的主要矿石矿物。其他如锑端元硫砷锑铅矿、脆硫锑银铅矿、硫锑铅矿-脆硫锑铅矿系列亦有发育。本文旨在查明此类矿物的成因并探索其重要的成矿作用。本文通过EMP及SEM-EDS等方法查明上述矿物的赋存形式并分析其化学组成。结果表明上述矿物均以显微包裹体状态散布于硫化物方铅矿及铁闪锌矿中。代表性的辉锑铅银矿包裹体粒径大小悬殊,形态各异,粒度从1μm至50μm不等,且以两组成90°正交的网状构造分布在方铅矿中,此种构造实属罕见,此外尚见有其他多种奇特形态。将银锑黝铜矿系列的Ag/(Ag+Cu)与Zn/(Zn+Fe)比值在Sack等温曲线中投图,估算生成银锑黝铜矿系列的流体温度为200~350℃。参照以往包裹体测温数据认为夏塞地区Ag、Sn多金属矿床应属岩浆期后的中温热液类型矿床。本文再次强调硫盐矿物在夏塞银矿床成矿作用中的重要性,有助于深刻认识夏塞矿床成因机制。
