In the sewage treatment process,facilitating the conversion of pollutants into value-added resources holds great potential for reducing the amount of greenhouse gas emissions and promoting economic circulation.Cyanophycin granule polypeptide(CGP),a recently discovered high value-added biopolymer present in activated sludge,has provided new avenues for the recovery of resources.However,the mechanisms that regulate CGP synthesis and the characteristics of this biopolymer in activated sludge remain unclear thus far.This study investigated the synthesis of CGP,polyhydroxyalkanoates(PHA),and alginate-like exopolysaccharides(ALE)in various microbial aggregates under different carbon sources feeding conditions.Our results showed that the CGP yields was superior that of PHA and ALE when subjected to identical carbon source feeding conditions.Furthermore,biofilm was more conducive to CGP accumulation than floc sludge.Compared with glucose and methanol,sodium acetate significantly enriched the CGP synthetase-encoding gene(cphAabundance=~17419),resulting in the highest CGP yield(average 107.1 mg/g MLSS)in both biofilm and floc sludge.This study is the first to reported the characteristic fluorescence of CGP(Ex/Em=~360/450 nm)caused by the aggregated luminescence of arginine on the side chains.Overall,this study highlights the potential application of CGP as a fluorescent material and offers insights into CGP recovery from activated sludge in wastewater treatment plants.

In this study, we focused on the effect of the underwater explosion parameters of multi-point array explosion. The shock wave and bubble parameters of aggregate charge, two charges, and four charges were measured through an underwater explosion test, and their influence on the explosion power field of charge quantity and array distance was analyzed. Results show that the multi-shock wave collision of array explosion can be approximated to a linear superposition, and the interaction of delayed shock wave can be deemed as the increase of the shock wave baseline. Shock wave focusing and delayed superposition increase the shock wave peak pressure. Compared with the aggregate charge, the greater the number of array explosion points is, the higher the impulse and the gain of the bubble peak pressure are. At the same array distance, the smaller the charge quantity is, the higher the bubble impulse will be. At the same charge quantity, the smaller the array distance is, the higher the bubble impulse will be. The bubble period decreases gradually with the increase of the charge quantity, but the test orientation has little effect on the bubble period.

This is a continuation of our previous paper [14]. In [14], we introduced the first Aeppli- Chern class on compact complex manifolds, and proved that the （1, 1） curvature form of the Levi-Civita connection represents the first Aeppli-Chern class which is a natural link between Riemannian geometry and complex geometry. In this paper, we study the geometry of compact complex manifolds with Levi- Civita Ricci-flat metrics and classify minimal complex surfaces with Levi-Civita Ricci-flat metrics. More precisely, we show that minimal complex surfaces admitting Levi-Civita Ricci-flat metrics are K/ihler Calabi-Yau surfaces and Hopf surfaces.

DNA methylation plays an important role in plant growth and development,and in regulating the activity of transposable elements(TEs).Research on DNA methylation-related(DMR)genes has been reported in Arabidopsis,but little research on DMR genes has been reported in Brassica rapa and Brassica oleracea,the genomes of which exhibit significant differences in TE content.In this study,we identified 78 and 77 DMR genes in Brassica rapa and Brassica oleracea,respectively.Detailed analysis revealed that the numbers of DMR genes in different DMR pathways varied in B.rapa and B.oleracea.The evolutionary selection pressure of DMR genes in B.rapa and B.oleracea was compared,and the DMR genes showed differential evolution between these two species.The nucleotide diversity(π)and selective sweep(Tajima’s D)revealed footprints of selection in the B.rapa and B.oleracea populations.Transcriptome analysis showed that most DMR genes exhibited similar expression characteristics in B.rapa and B.oleracea.This study dissects the evolutionary differences and genetic variations of the DMR genes in B.rapa and B.oleracea,and will provide valuable resources for future research on the divergent evolution of DNA methylation between B.rapa and B.oleracea.

In this study, the rapidity distribution, collective flows, and nuclear stopping power in ^(197)Au+^(197)Au collisions at intermediate energies were investigated using the ultrarelativistic quantum molecular dynamics(UrQMD) model with GEMINI++ code. The UrQMD model was adopted to simulate the dynamic evolution of heavy-ion collisions, whereas the GEMINI++ code was used to simulate the decay of primary fragments produced by UrQMD. The calculated results were compared with the INDRA and FOPI experimental data. It was found that the rapidity distribution, collective flows, and nuclear stopping power were affected to a certain extent by the decay of primary fragments, especially at lower beam energies. Furthermore, the experimental data of the collective flows and nuclear stopping power at the investigated beam energies were better reproduced when the sequential decay effect was included.

High-performance,cost-effective hole-transport materials(HTMs)are greatly desired for the commercialization of perovskite solar cells(PVSCs).Herein,two new HTMs,TPA-FO and TPA-PDO,are devised and synthesized,which have a donor-acceptor-donor(D-A-D)type molecule design featuring carbonyl group-functionalized arenes as the acceptor(A)units.The carbonyl group at the central core of HTMs can not only tune frontier molecular orbital(FMO)energy levels and surface wettability,but also can enable efficient surface passivation effects,resulting in reduced recombination loss.When employed as HTMs in inverted PVSCs without using dopant,TPA-FO with one carbonyl group yields a high power conversion efficiency(PCE)of 20.24%,which is among the highest values reported in the inverted PVSCs with dopant-free HTMs.More importantly,the facile one-step synthetic process enables a low cost of 30 USD g^(-1) for TPA-FO,much cheaper than the most studied HTMs used for high-efficiency dopant-free PVSCs.These results demonstrate the potential of D-A-D type molecules with carbonyl group-functionalized arene core in developing the low-cost dopant-free HTMs toward highly efficient PVSCs.

Self-assembled molecules(SAMs) have shown great potential in replacing bulk charge selective contact layers in high-performance perovskite solar cells(PSCs) due to their low material consumption and simple processing. Herein, we design and synthesize a series of donor-acceptor(D-A) type SAMs(MPA-BTCA, MPA-BT-BA, and MPA-BT-RA, where MPA is 4-methoxy-N-(4-methoxyphenyl)-N-phenylaniline;BT is benzo[c][1,2,5]-thiadiazole;CA is 2-cyanoacrylic acid, BA is benzoic acid, RA is rhodanine-3-propionic acid) with distinct anchoring groups, which show dramatically different properties. MPA-BTCA with CA anchoring groups exhibited stronger dipole moments and formed a homogeneous monolayer on the indium tin oxide(ITO) surface by adopting an upstanding self-assembling mode. However, the MPA-BT-RA molecules tend to aggregate severely in solid state due to the sp~3 hybridization of the carbon atom on the RA group, which is not favorable for achieving a long-range ordered self-assembled layer.Consequently, benefiting from high dipole moment, as well as dense and uniform self-assembled film,the device based on MPA-BT-CA yielded a remarkable power conversion efficiency(PCE) of 21.81%.Encouragingly, an impressive PCE approaching 20% can still be obtained for the MPA-BT-CA-based PSCs as the device area is increased to 0.80 cm^(2). Our work sheds light on the design principles for developing hole selecting SAMs, which will pave a way for realizing highly efficient, flexible, and large-area PSCs.

Background:Non-thyroidal illness syndrome(NTIS)develops in a large proportion of critically ill patients and is associated with high risk for death.We aimed to investigate the correlation between NTIS and liver failure,and the short-term mortality of patients with these conditions.Methods:The clinical data of 87 patients with liver failure were collected retrospectively,73 of them were randomly selected for an observational study and to establish prognostic models,and 14 for model validation.Another 73 sex-and age-matched patients with mild chronic hepatitis were randomly selected as a control group.Serum free triiodothyronine(FT3),free thyroxine(FT4),and thyroid-stimulating hormone(TSH)were measured.The clinical characteristics of patients with liver failure and NTIS were analyzed.The follow-up of patients lasted for 3 months.Additionally,the values for predicting short-term mortality of model for end-stage liver disease(MELD),Child-Turcotte-Pugh(CTP),chronic liver failure-sequential organ failure assessment(CLIF-SOFA)scores,FT3-MELD model,and FT3 were evaluated.Results:The observation group had significantly lower FT3(2.79±0.71 vs.4.43±0.75 pmol/L,P<0.001)and TSH[0.618(0.186-1.185)vs.1.800(1.570-2.590)mIU/L,P<0.001],and higher FT4(19.51±6.26 vs.14.47±2.19 pmol/L,P<0.001)than the control group.NTIS was diagnosed in 49 of the patients with liver failure(67.12%).In the observation group,patients with NTIS had a higher mortality rate than those without(63.27%vs.25.00%,P=0.002).Across the whole cohort,the 3-month mortality was 50.68%.The international normalized ratios(INR)were 2.40±1.41 in survivors and 3.53±1.81 in deaths(P=0.004),the creatinine(Cr)concentrations were 73.27±36.94μmol/L and 117.08±87.98μmol/L(P=0.008),the FT3 concentrations were 3.13±0.59 pmol/L and 2.47±0.68 pmol/L(P<0.001),the MELD scores were 22.19±6.64 and 29.57±7.99(P<0.001),the CTP scores were 10.67±1.53 and 11.78±1.25(P=0.001),and the CLIF-SOFA scores were 8.42±1.68 and 10.16±2.03(P<0.001),respectively.FT3 was negatively correlated with MELD

The generalized stacking fault energy(GSFE) is a key parameter to determine the plastic deformation mechanisms of austenitic steels. However, the underlying physics why the GSFE can affect the plastic deformation behaviors remains unclear. In this paper, the plastic deformation mechanisms of austenitic steels with different carbon(C)additions were investigated by coupling the GSFE with the semi-discrete variational Peierls-Nabarro(P–N) model.The internal mechanisms behind the P–N stress and plastic deformation were explained at atomic scale. It is found that the positions and contents of C atoms affect the GSFE of austenite, and thus regulate plastic deformation behaviors of austenitic steels by influencing dislocation core structure. As exemplified that with 4 at.%C in austenite, the intrinsic stacking fault energy increases from-433 to-264 mJ/m2, and the stacking fault width increases to 6.62b from 4.72b of FCC-Fe with b being the Burgers vector. This corresponds to the plastic deformation mechanism dominated by the ε martensitic transformation with the lattice changing from FCC to HCP.With increasing C contents to 8 at.%, the intrinsic stacking fault energy of austenite increases to-9.01 mJ/m2,while the stacking fault width decreases to 6.03b. The plastic deformation tends to proceed via the mechanical twinning mode. The present investigation establishes a solid foundation for clarifying the plastic deformation mechanisms of austenitic steels from the perspective of the dislocation core structure.
