BACKGROUND Radial nerve palsy due to humeral shaft fracture is the most common peripheral nerve injury associated with long bone *** antegrade nailing surgical technique is becoming popular for the fixation of these fractures with minimal *** analyzed nerve recovery in patients with humeral shaft fracture and radial nerve palsy treated with humeral nail fixation without nerve *** To assess the radial nerve recovery rate and time from humeral shaft fracture with surgical treatment using close *** We retrospectively collected data of patients who underwent undergone surgical nail fixation for humeral shaft fractures between October 1,2016,and March 31,***,we analyzed the primary or secondary radial nerve palsy recovery rate and radial nerve motor function recovery *** The study included 70 patients who underwent surgical treatment for closed-or Gustilo type I open humeral shaft fractures using a nail fixation technique without radial nerve *** patients suffered from primary(n=5)and secondary(n=5)radial nerve palsy.A 100%radial nerve recovery rate was *** mean recovery time was 4.3 *** The study results indicate full recovery of radial nerve palsies from humeral shaft fracture using close nailing *** need not be concerned about the occurrence of permanent nerve palsies.

BACKGROUND Osteoporosis with vertebral compression fractures is increasingly common in the elderly *** augmentation is one of the effective surgical treatments for these ***,there are several different types of cement augmentation *** studies have compared the safety and efficacy of different cement augmentation types for the treatment of such fractures;thus,we retrospectively compared vertebroplasty,balloon kyphoplasty,and kyphoplasty with SpineJack or an intravertebral expandable *** To compare the postoperative safety and efficacy of each surgical intervention in treating vertebral compression *** We retrospectively analyzed 354 patients with acute vertebral compression fractures,defined as signal changes in the T1 weighted magnetic resonance imaging,and randomly divided the patients into five *** visual analog scale scores for pain,kyphotic angle,average body height,rate of cement leakage,and occurrence of adjacent vertebral compression fractures were followed for 1 ***-way analysis of variance,the post hoc Bonferroni test,and Fisher exact probability test were used for statistical *** All pain scores significantly improved 12 mo postoperatively;however,there was no significant difference between the groups(P=0.325).Kyphoplasty with SpineJack significantly reduced the kyphotic angle(P=0.028)and restored the height of the vertebral body(P=0.02).The rate of adjacent compression fractures was the highest in the vertebroplasty group,with a statistically significant difference according to the Fisher exact probability test(P=0.02).The treatment with the lowest cement leakage rate cannot be identified because of the small sample size;however,kyphoplasty with SpineJack,an IVEP,and vesselplasty resulted in lower rates of cement leakage than balloon kyphoplasty and *** Kyphoplasty with SpineJack has good outcomes in kyphotic angle reduction and body height restora

BACKGROUND This case report contributes to the medical literature by highlighting the successful management of a neglected femoral neck fracture in a patient with renal osteodystrophy and secondary hyperparathyroidism(SHPTH)who was on dialysis due to end-stage renal disease(ESRD).It underscores the efficacy of parathyroidectomy(PTX)in restoring bone mineral density(BMD)and promoting fracture healing,addressing a significant complication in ESRD *** SUMMARY A 36-year-old female with renal osteodystrophy and on dialysis due to ESRD presented with a history of left patellar tendon rupture and later,a right achilles tendon avulsion *** right hip pain led to the discovery of a neglected right femoral neck fracture,which was initially overlooked due to the patient’s complex medical *** months post-achilles tendon repair,the patient underwent PTX to manage the refractory *** postoperative course included rehabilitation and weight-bearing ***,2 years after osteosynthesis,radiographic assessments indicated a solid union of the periprothesis fracture and significant improvement in BMD,showcasing the efficacy of the treatment *** PTX,combined with appropriate rehabilitation,is crucial for improving BMD and fracture healing in ESRD patients with SHPTH.

A Multi-Objective Optimization for Locating Maintenance Stations and Operator Dispatching of Corrective Maintenance

In this study,we introduce a novel multi-objective optimization model tailored for modern manufacturing,aiming to mitigate the cost impacts of operational disruptions through optimized corrective *** to our approach is the strategic placement of maintenance stations and the efficient allocation of personnel,addressing a crucial gap in the integration of maintenance personnel dispatching and station *** model uniquely combines the spatial distribution of machinery with the expertise of operators to achieve a harmonious balance between maintenance efficiency and *** core of our methodology is the NSGA Ⅲ+Dispatch,an advanced adaptation of the Non-Dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm Ⅲ(NSGA-Ⅲ),meticulously designed for the selection of maintenance stations and effective operator *** method integrates a comprehensive coding process,crossover operator,and mutation operator to efficiently manage multiple *** empirical testing,including a detailed analysis from a taiwan region electronic equipment manufacturer,validated the effectiveness of our approach across various scenarios of machine failure frequencies and operator *** findings reveal that the proposed model significantly outperforms current practices by reducing response times by up to 23%in low-frequency and 28.23%in high-frequency machine failure scenarios,leading to notable improvements in efficiency and cost ***,it demonstrates significant improvements in oper-ational efficiency,particularly in selective high-frequency failure contexts,while ensuring substantial manpower cost savings without compromising on operational *** research significantly advances maintenance strategies in production environments,providing the manufacturing industry with practical,optimized solutions for diverse machine malfunction ***,the methodologies and principles developed in this study have pote

Gene expression profiling of new or modified cell lines becomes routine today;however,obtaining comprehensive molecular characterization and cellular responses for a variety of cell lines,including those derived from underrepresented groups,is not trivial when resources are *** gene expression to predict other measurements has been actively explored;however,systematic investigation of its predictive power in various measurements has not been well ***,we evaluated commonly used machine learning methods and presented TransCell,a two-step deep transfer learning framework that utilized the knowledge derived from pan-cancer tumor samples to predict molecular features and *** these models,TransCell had the best performance in predicting metabolite,gene effect score(or genetic dependency),and drug sensitivity,and had comparable performance in predicting mutation,copy number variation,and protein ***,TransCell improved the performance by over 50%in drug sensitivity prediction and achieved a correlation of 0.7 in gene effect score ***,predicted drug sensitivities revealed potential repurposing candidates for new 100 pediatric cancer cell lines,and predicted gene effect scores reflected BRAF resistance in melanoma cell ***,we investigated the predictive power of gene expression in six molecular measurement types and developed a web portal(http://***/transcell/)that enables the prediction of 352,000 genomic and cellular response features solely from gene expression profiles.
