The development of green experimental processes for the synthesis of nanoparticles is a need in the field of nanotechnology. The synthesis of silver nanoparticles was achieved using bacillus cereus supernatant and1 m M silver nitrate. 100 m M glucose was found to quicken the rate of reaction of silver nanoparticles ***-visible spectrophotometric analysis was carried out to assess the synthesis of silver nanoparticles. The synthesized silver nanoparticles were further characterized by using Nanoparticle Tracking Analyzer(NTA),Transmission Electron Microscope and Energy Dispersive X-ray spectra. These silver nanoparticles showed enhanced quorum quenching activity against Staphylococcus aureus biofilm and prevention of biofilm formation which can be seen under inverted microscope(40 X). The synergistic effect of silver nanoparticles along with antibiotics in biofilm quenching was found to be effective. In the near future, silver nanoparticles could be used in the treatment of infections caused by highly antibiotic resistant biofilm.

Dye-sensitized photo-oxidation of disulfiram has been carried out under various reaction conditions including change in solvents and sensitizers. The product has been isolated and characterized by its physical, chemical and spectral data. To confirm the participation of singlet-oxygen in the reaction, the experiment has also been carried out in the presence of various singlet oxygen scavengers.

The levels of soluble, structural and total proteins, and the activities of AlAT and AAT decreased along with an increase in the levels of free amino acids and the activity of protease in the ctenidium, hepatopancreas and foot of the freshwater mussel L. marginalis after 1,2,3 and 4 d of exposure to a lethal concentration (115 mg.L-1) of nickel. but the activity of GDH and the level of urea decreased in the hepatopancreas and increased in the ctenidium and foot. A reverse trend was observed in the level of ammonia. In a sublethal concentration (23 mg.L-1), the levels of soluble, structural and total proteins and ammonia decreased in these three organs of the mussel after 1, 5, 10 and 15 d of exposures, with an increase in the *** free aminoacids, urea and in the activities of protease, Al AT, AAT and ODH. The extent of these changes differed in degree depending on exposure period in the lethal and sublethal concentrations. The results are discussed in order to arrive at the degree of metal stress on the overall nitrogen metabolism of the mussel according to the period of exposure to lethal and sublethal concentrations of nickel.

A simple, sensitive, and specific liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/ MS) method was developed for the quantification of desloratadine (DL) in human plasma using desloratadine-d5 (DLD5) as an internal standard (IS). Chromatographic separation was performed using an Xbridge C18 column (50 mm 4.6 mm, 5 mm) with an isocratic mobile phase composed of 10 mM ammonium formate: methanol (20:80, v/v), at a flow rate of 0.7 mL/min. DL and DLD5 were detected with proton adducts at m/z 311.2-259.2 and 316.2-264.3 in multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) positive modes, respectively. Liquid–liquid extraction (LLE) method was used to extract the drug and the IS. The method was validated over a linear concentration range of 5.0–5000.0 pg/mL with a correlation coefficient of (r2)Z0.9994. This method demonstrated intra- and inter-day precision within 0.7–2.0% and 0.7–2.7%, and an accuracy within 101.4–102.4%, and 99.5–104.8%. DL was found to be stable throughout the freeze–thaw cycles, bench-top, and postoperative stability studies. This method was successfully applied in the analysis of plasma samples following oral administration of DL (5 mg) in 35 healthy Indian male human volunteers under fasting conditions.

In recent times, conventional materials are replaced by metal matrix composites （MMCs） due to their high specific strength and modulus. Strength reliability, one of the key factors restricting wider use of composite materials in various applications, is commonly characterized by Weibull strength distribution function. In the present work, statistical analysis of the strength data of 15% volume alumina particle （mean size 15 um） reinforced in aluminum alloy （1101 grade alloy） fabricated by stir casting method was carried out using Weibull probability model. Twelve tension tests were performed according to ASTM b577 standards and the test data, the corresponding Weibull distribution was obtained. Finally the reliability of the composite behavior in terms of its fracture strength was presented to ensure the reliability of composites for suitable applications. An important implication of the present study is that the Weibull distribution describes the experimentally measured strength data more appropriately.

A climate-induced extreme flow event such as flooding is one of the most devastating natural hazards,which can significantly damage human lives and *** study examined the effects of climate change on the high flow conditions in the Great Miami River Watershed in Ohio under two emission scenarios(RCP 4.5 and RCP 8.5).Streamflow for the 21st century was simulated by utilizing a watershed model-SWAT(Soil and Water Assessment Tool)and 10 different climate outputs from the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project phase 5(CMIP5).The future streamflow was divided into three equal periods:2016-2043(early century),2044-2071(mid-century),and 2072-2099(late century)and independently analyzed to compare high flows of respective intervals with baseline periods(1988-2015).The analysis predicted that 7-day,10-year high-flow(7Q10)would increase by 38%under RCP 4.5 and 44%under RCP ***,the annual peak flows for study periods were predicted to increase by 26%under RCP 4.5 and 38%under RCP 8.5 from the base ***,the analysis demonstrated an erratic response for monthly peaks indicating that the peak flow would increase in summer months-May and July to ***,the result did not show any significant increase during the winter season,especially from November to *** analysis of the four major dams located in the watershed showed that the dam’s peak discharges increase in January,May,and *** though increasing peaks were projected in September for the 21st century,the monthly peaks from the watershed outlet were found to be lowest in September as compared to other *** frequency of future flooding compared to the historical record was found to be increasing in the mid-century under RCP 4.5 and the late century under RCP *** the future flood is projected to increase,this study finds the reasonable impact of climate change on flood regulating reservoirs/dams in monthly ***,daily high flows(90th percentile flow)would b

Renewable energy-based solar photovoltaic(PV)generation is the best alternative for conventional energy sources because of its natural abundance and environment friendly *** power extraction from the PV system plays a critical role in increasing the efficiency of the solar power generation during partial shading conditions(PSCs).Therefore,a suitable maximum power point tracking(MPPT)technique to track the maximum power point(MPP)is of high need,even under *** paper presents an organized and concise review of MPPT techniques implemented for the PV systems in literature along with recent publications on various hardware design *** classification is done into four categories,***,intelligent,optimal,and hybrid depending on the tracking algorithm utilized to track MPP under *** uniform insolation,classical methods are highly preferred as there is only one peak in the P-V ***,under PSCs,the F-V curve exhibits multiple peaks,one global maximum power point(GMPP)and remaining are local maximum power points(LMPP’s).Under the PSCs,classical methods fail to operate at GMPP and hence there is a need for more advanced MPPT *** MPPT technique has its advantages and limits,but a streamlined MPPT is drafted in numerous parameters like sensors required,hardware implementation,cost viability,tracking speed and tracking *** study provides the advancement in this area since some parameter comparison is made at the end of every classification,which might be a prominent base-rule for picking the most gainful sort of MPPT for further research.
