Multiclass recognition of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease using various machine learning techniques: A study

The aging population is primarily affected by Alzheimer’s disease(AD)that is an incur-able neurodegenerative *** is a need for an automated efficient technique to diagnose Alzheimer’s in its early *** techniques are used to diagnose *** and neuroimaging methodologies are widely used to highlight changes in the electrical activity of the brain signals that are helpful for early ***’s disease(PD)is a major neurological disease that results in an average of 50,000 new clinical diagnoses worldwide every *** voice features are majorly used as the main means to diag-nose *** major symptoms of PD are loss of intensity,the monotony of loudness and pitch,reduction in stress,unidentified silences,and *** though various innovative models are proposed by explorers about Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s classifi-cation diseases,still there is a need for efficient learning methodologies and *** paper provides a review on using machine learning(ML)together with several fea-ture extraction techniques that is helpful in the early detection of AD with Parkinson’*** novelty and objective of this study are that the CAD technique is used to improve the accuracy of early diagnosis of *** proposed technique depends on the nonlinear process for data dimension reduction,feature removal,and classification using kernel-based support vector machine(SVM)*** dimension of the input space is radically diminished with kernel *** the learning set is labeled,it creates sense to utilize this information to make a dependable method of dropping the input space *** different techniques of ML are explained under the major approaches ***,artificial neural network(ANN),deep learning(DL),and ensemble methods.A comprehensive assessment is presented at SVM,ANN,and DL approaches for better detection of Alzheimer’s with PD highlighting future insights.

Cluster Analysis for IR and NIR Spectroscopy: Current Practices to Future Perspectives

Supervised machine learning techniques have become well established in the study of spectroscopy ***,the unsupervised learning technique of cluster analysis hasn’t reached the same level maturity in chemometric *** paper surveys recent studies which apply cluster analysis to NIR and IR spectroscopy *** addition,we summarize the current practices in cluster analysis of spectroscopy and contrast these with cluster analysis literature from the machine learning and pattern recognition *** includes practices in data pre-processing,feature extraction,clustering distance metrics,clustering algorithms and validation *** consideration is given to the specific characteristics of IR and NIR spectroscopy data which typically includes high dimensionality and relatively low sample *** findings highlighted a lack of quantitative analysis and evaluation in current practices for cluster analysis of IR and NIR spectroscopy *** this in mind,we propose an analysis model or workflow with techniques specifically suited for cluster analysis of IR and NIR spectroscopy data along with a pragmatic application strategy.

Feature Selection for Cluster Analysis in Spectroscopy

Cluster analysis in spectroscopy presents some unique challenges due to the specific data characteristics in spectroscopy,namely,high dimensionality and small sample *** order to improve cluster analysis outcomes,feature selection can be used to remove redundant or irrelevant features and reduce the ***,for cluster analysis,this must be done in an unsupervised manner without the benefit of data *** paper presents a novel feature selection approach for cluster analysis,utilizing clusterability metrics to remove features that least contribute to a dataset’s tendency to *** versions are presented and evaluated:The Hopkins clusterability filter which utilizes the Hopkins test for spatial randomness and the Dip clusterability filter which utilizes the Dip test for *** new techniques,along with a range of existing filter and wrapper feature selection techniques were evaluated on eleven real-world spectroscopy datasets using internal and external clustering *** newly proposed Hopkins clusterability filter performed the best of the six filter techniques ***,it was observed that results varied greatly for different techniques depending on the specifics of the dataset and the number of features selected,with significant instability observed for most techniques at low numbers of *** was identified that the genetic algorithm wrapper technique avoided this instability,performed consistently across all datasets and resulted in better results on average than utilizing the all the features in the spectra.

Synthesis and anticonvulsant activity of some potent 5,6-bis aryl 1,2,4-triazines

In the present research, a series of 5,6-bis aryl 1,2,4-triazines 5a^5f were synthesized by condensation of various benzils 4a^4f with aminoguanidine bicarbonate and were screened in vivo, for their anticonvulsant and neurotoxicity studies. Compounds 5a, 5b and 5d were found to be potent molecules of this series, when compared with the reference drugs phenytoin sodium, diazepam and lamotrigine. The structures of these compounds were established by IR, 1H NMR, 13C NMR and mass spectroscopic data.

Some Observations about the MOLSCAT

For calculation of cross sections for collisional transitions between rotational levels in a molecule,a computer code,MOLSCAT is *** the transitions between rotational levels in H_2 CS due to collisions with He atom,we have calculated cross sections under the CS approximation,for example,for total energy 11 cm^(-1).The calculations have been done for the single energy 11 cm"1 and for ten *** have found that the cross sections for the single energy 11 cm^(-1),differ from those in the first seven combinations,but are in agreement with those in the last three *** reason for the difference in the results appears that the MOLSCAT uses the intermediate data of calculations for one energy,in the calculations for other *** agreement with the last three combinations may be understood that when the energy of combination is in the decreasing trend,the cross sections for the first(common)energy are *** may be suggested to run the MOLSCAT for a single energy at a time.

Noninvasive Label-Free Detection of Cortisol and Lactate Using Graphene Embedded Screen-Printed Electrode

A sensitive and specific immunosensor for the detection of the hormones cortisol and lactate in human or animal biological fluids, such as sweat and saliva, was devised using the label-free electrochemical chronoamperometric technique. by using these fluids instead of blood,the biosensor becomes noninvasive and is less stressful to the end user, who may be a small child or a farm *** graphene oxide(e-RGO) was used as a synergistic platform for signal amplification and template for bioconjugation for the sensing mechanism on a screenprinted electrode. The cortisol and lactate antibodies were bioconjugated to the e-RGO using covalent carbodiimide chemistry. Label-free electrochemical chronoamperometric detection was used to analyze the response to the desired biomolecules over the wide detection range. A detection limit of 0.1 ng mL^(-1) for cortisol and 0.1 mM for lactate was established and a correlation between concentration and current was observed. A portable, handheld potentiostat assembled with bluetooth communication and battery operation enables the developed system for point-of-care applications. A sandwich-like structure containing the sensing mechanisms as a prototype was designed to secure the biosensor to skin and use capillary action to draw sweat or other fluids toward the sensing mechanism. Overall, the immunosensor shows remarkable specificity, sensitivity as well as the noninvasive and point-of-care capabilities and allows the biosensor to be used as a versatile sensing platform in both developed and developing countries.

Computerised Gate Firing Control for 17-Level MLI using Staircase PWM

A basic 7-level MLI topology is developed and the same is extended to the 9-level then further increased to *** developed structure minimizes the component’s count and size to draw out the system *** the various advantages of MLIs,efficiency and reliability play a major role since the usage of components is higher for getting a low Total Harmonics Distortion(THD)*** becomes a major challenge incorporated in boosting the efficiency without affecting the THD *** parametric observations are done and realized for the designed 9-level and 17-level MLI,being the Total Standing Voltage(TSV),efficiency,cost function per level count,and power *** respective parameters are compared with several existing and modern circuits and found to be effective in their performance.A novel single-phase 17-level asymmetrical Multi-Level Inverter(MLI)topology is developed to reduce the number of overall *** developed topology generates 17-levels by using unequal DC *** developed MLI is proved under various tests con-ducted experimentally for the various loads like resistive,inductive,and combinational loads.A detailed comparison is done on several factors and represented graphically ***,the proposed design provides a less TSV value is 6 V_(dc),efficiency is 94.21%and cost factor per level CF/L value for both values ofαis 2.01 and 2.05 and devices count with a low THD value 41.4%with respectively.

The objectives of the present investigations are to see the effects of biomass power plant effluent on the carbohydrates, aminoacids, nitrite and nitrite enzyme activitiesand proline of Arachis hypogaea L. var TCGS 320 under controlled pot culture methods. Plants were cultivated with 25, 50, 75 and 100% of the effluent and a control without the effluent. The treatment of the crop with 25% of the effluent has shown stimulatory effect on all the biochemical parameters studied. Carbohydrates, starch, aminoacids, protein, nitrate and nitrite reductase enzymatic activities have increased in 10, 15, 20 DAS （days after sowing）. In 25 and 30 DAS all biochemical parameters have decreased, due to environmental factors （rainfall, temperature, humidity, etc.）. The present investigation clearly indicated that the biomass power plant effluent has stimulatory effect on all the biochemical contents at lower concentration, and at higher concentration they have deleterious effects.

Catalyst-and solvent-free,thermal generation of microporous polymer networks

Multifunctional iodoaryl monomers were used for the catalyst- and solvent-free generation of microporous polymer networks of high surface areas up to 732mEg-1. The thermal conversion of the monomers relies on the homolytic cleavage of weak iodine-carbon bonds followed by a C-C coupling of the radicalic intermediates. by using tri- or tetrafunctional monomers and by tuning reaction temperature and time, the optimum reaction conditions allow the formation of the corresponding microporous networks in good yields of 71%-86%. The resulting networks exhibit notable high CO2 and H2 adsorption capacities of up to 8.89 wt% （273K, 1 bar） and up to 1.31 wt% （77K, 1 bar）, respectively.

Experimental studies on the erosion rate of different heat treated carbon steel economiser tubes of power boilers by fly ash particles

The experimental investigations on the effect of the fly ash particle size, velocity, impingement angle, and feed rate were done with an emphasis on the effect of erosion on annealed SA 210 GrA1 （A） and normalized SA 210 GrA1 （N） carbon steel economizer-tube materials. Erosion rates were evaluated with different impingement angles ranging from 15° to 90°, at four different velocities of 32.5, 35, 37.5, and 40 m/s, and at four different feed rates of fly ash particles of 2, 4, 6 and 8 g/min. The erodent used was fly ash particles, sizes ranging from 50-250 μm of irregular shapes. Erosion rate is found to be the maximum at the impingement angle of 30°. Erosion rates of the carbon steel tube in different heat treatment conditions, annealed and normalized, at a constant velocity of 32.5 m/s with different angles were studied. In all cases of feed rates, impingement angles, particle sizes, and velocities of fly ash particles, it has been found that the erosion rate of the annealed tube is less than that of the normalized tube. Empirical correlations for erosion rate relating the velocity, size, feed rate, and impingement angle of the particles and elongation property of the target materials were arrived. Morphologies of the eroded surface were examined by scanning electron microscope （SEM）.
