Particle size dependent sinterability and magnetic properties of recycled HDDR Nd-Fe-B powders consolidated with spark plasma sintering

The dependence of the magnetic properties on the particle size of recycled HDDR Nd-Fe-B powders was investigated,with the aim to assess the reprocessing potential of the end-of-life scrap magnets via spark plasma sintering(SPS).The as received recycled HDDR powder has coercivity(Hci)=830 kA/m and particles in the range from 30 to 700 μm(average 220 μm).After burr milling,the average particle size is reduced to 120 μm and subsequently the Hci of fine(milled) powder was 595 kA/*** plasma sintering was exploited to consolidate the nanograined HDDR powders and limit the abnormal grain *** optimal SPS-ing of coarse HDDR powder at 750℃for 1 min produces fully dense magnets with Hci=950±100 kA/m which further increases to 1200 kA/m via thermal treatment at 750℃for 15 *** burr milled fine HDDR powder under similar SPS conditions and after thermal treatment results in Hci=940 kA/*** fine powder is further sieved down from 630 to less than 50 μm mesh size,to evaluate the possible reduction in Hci in relation to the particle *** gain in oxygen content doubles for m sized particles as compared with coarser fractions(>200 μm).The XRD analysis for fractionated powder indicates an increase in Nd2O3 phase peaks in the finer(m)***,the Hci reduces from 820 kA/m in the coarse particles(>200 μm) to 460 kA/m in the fine sized particles(m).SPS was done on each HDDR powder fraction under the optimal conditions to measure the variation in Hci and *** Hci of SPS-ed coarse fraction(>200 μm) is higher than 930 kA/m and it falls abruptly to just 70 kA/m for the fine sized particles(m).The thermal treatment further improves the Hci to>1000 kA/m only up to 100 μm sized fractions with>90% sintered *** full densification(>99%) is observed only in the coarse *** loss of coercivity and lack of sinterability in the fine sized particles(m) are attributed to a very high oxygen *** implies that durin

Referrals to Emergency Departments—— The Processes and Factors That Influence Decision-making among Community Nurses

The aim of the study was to describe the basis on which municipal care registered nurses (RN) make decisions and their experiences when referring older persons from nursing homes to emergency departments (eds). RNs in the community are to ensure that older adults receive good care quality in nursing home. This study used a descriptive design with a qualitative content analysis. The analysis of the data from the 13 interviews revealed one theme “Shared responsibilities in the best interests of the older person reduce feelings of insufficiency”. The content was formulated, which revealed the RNs’ feelings, reasoning and factors influencing them and their actions in the decision-making situation, before the patients were referred to an emergency department. Complex illnesses, non-adapted organizations, considerations about what was good and right in order to meet the older person’s needs, taking account of her/his life-world, health, well-being and best interests were reported. Co-worker competencies and open dialogues in the “inner circle” were crucial for the nurses’ confidence in the decision. Hesitation to refer was associated with previous negative reactions from ed professionals. The RN sometimes express that they lacked medical knowledge and were uncertain how to judge the acute illness or changes. Access to the “outer circle”, i.e. physicians and hospital colleagues, was necessary to counteract feelings of insecurity about referrals. When difficult decisions have to be made, not only medical facts but also relationships are of importance. To strengthen the RNs’ and staff members’ competence by means of education seems to be important for avoiding unnecessary referrals. Guidelines and work routine need to be more transparent and referrals due to the lack of resources are not only wasteful but can worsen the older persons’ health.

Does shifting to professional emergency department staffing affect the decision for chest radiography?

BACKGROUND: The study aims to determine whether shifting to professional emergency department(ed) teams leads to a higher rate of radiologic ***: We retrospectively analyzed a total of 2,000 patients presenting to the ed of a tertiary teaching hospital in two time periods: group 1(G1) comprised 1,000 consecutive patients enrolled from December 21, 2012 to January 5, 2013(all patients were examined by an internal medicine specialist);group 2(G2) comprised 1,000 consecutive patients enrolled from December 21, 2018 to January 3, 2019(all patients were examined by an emergency physician).RESULTS: The chest X-ray(CXR) was performed in 40.6% of all patients. There was no difference in the frequency of CXR(38.9% in G1 vs. 42.3% in G2, P=0.152). more CXRs were performed in G2 patients older than 65 years, in female patients older than 65 years, in patients presenting during the evening and night shifts or off-hours, in patients with a history of malignancy, in patients with gastrointestinal bleeding, and in patients with bradycardia, but fewer in patients presenting with arrhythmia. No difference in the rates of pathological CXR was found(47.3% in G1 vs. 52.2% in G2, P=0.186). Compared with G2, higher sensitivity and specificity were obtained for the binary logistic regression model predicting pathological findings in ***: Shifting to professional ed teams does not increase radiologic workup. By implementing deliberate usage of ultrasound, some self-governing procedures, case-oriented investigations, and center-specific recommendations, unnecessary radiologic workup can be avoided. Professional ed teams could lead to a higher standard of emergency care.

Gastric hyperplastic polyps causing upper gastrointestinal hemorrhage in a young adult

Here, we report a case of a young man who presented with a significant upper gastrointestinal bleed.treated by endoscopic removal of multiple hyperplastic polyps. Gastric hyperplastic polyps are a relatively uncommon cause of overt gastrointestinal bleeding. While most hyperplastic gastric polyps are asymptomatic, they may present with abdominal pain, iron def iciency anemia or gastric outlet obstruction. These polyps are associated with conditions such as Helicobacter pylori gastritis and atrophic autoimmune gastritis, which predispose the epithelium to chronic inf lammation and epithelial *** patient presented to Northwestern memorial Hospital in July 2011. The polyps were resected by clip-assisted snare polypectomy. Histopathologic assessment of the resected polyps demonstrated multiple, nonulcerative hyperplastic polyps measuring 1.3-1.8 cm in size, without evidence of dysplasia or malignancy. This case describes a young adult patient with multiple, large gastric polyps causing overt gastrointestinal bleeding. This is a rare presentation in a young individual, as these polyps are typically identifi ed in patients older than 60 years of age and less commonly, pediatric populations.

用12株分类地位已知的代表菌为对照,采用现代细菌分类学方法,对从四川省4个花生产区的天府3号和地方品种上分离的花生根瘤菌,从系统发育方面,探索了花生根瘤菌在根瘤菌系统中的分类地位。多聚酶链反应(PCR)扩增的16S rRNA的4种限制性内切酶长度多态(PCR-RFLP)以及16S rRNA部分碱基序列测定结果同时表明:四川花生根瘤菌与慢生大豆根瘤菌(Bradyrhizobium japonicum)相似性极高。由此推论它们在系统发育及进化方向上是基本一致的。该结果为研究花生根瘤菌的确切分类地位打下了基础。
