Assessment of UAV Based Vegetation Indices for Nitrogen Concentration Estimation in Spring Wheat

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) have become increasingly popular in recent years for agricultural research. High spatial and temporal resolution images obtained with UAVs are ideal for many applications in agriculture. The objective of this study was to evaluate the performance of vegetation indices (VIs) derived from UAV images for quantification of plant nitrogen (N) concentration of spring wheat, a major cereal crop worldwide. This study was conducted at three locations in Idaho, United States. A quadcopter UAV equipped with a red edge multispectral sensor was used to collect images during the 2016 growing season. Flight missions were successfully carried out at Feekes 5 and Feekes 10 growth stages of spring wheat. Plant samples were collected on the same days as UAV image data acquisition and were transferred to lab for N concentration analysis. Different VIs including Normalized Difference Vegetative Index (NDVI), Red Edge Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVIred edge), Enhanced Vegetation Index 2 (EVI2), Red Edge Simple Ratio (SRred edge), Green Chlorophyll Index (CIgreen), Red Edge Chlorophyll Index (CIred edge), medium Resolution Imaging Spectrometer (mERIS) Terrestrial Chlorophyll Index (mTCI) and Red Edge Triangular Vegetation Index (core only) (RTVIcore) were calculated for each flight event. At Feekes 5 growth stage, red edge and green based VIs showed higher correlation with plant N concentration compare to the red based VIs. At Feekes 10 growth stage, all calculated VIs showed high correlation with plant N concentration. Empirical relationships between VIs and plant N concentration were cross validated using test data sets for each growth stage. At Feekes 5, the plant N concentration estimated based on NDVIred edge showed one to one correlation with measured N concentration. The Usage of Saccharomyces cerevisiae in microbial Fuel Cell System for Electricity Energy Production

A laboratory-scale mFC （microbial fuel cell） was studied in order to determine the capacity and the efficiency of electricity production in microbial fuel cell system by using microorganisms. The medium used is an isolated culture ofSaccharomces cereviciae. A number of media has been evaluated to provide the best growth phase for Saccharomces cereviciae using optical density method with spectrophotometer at a wavelength of 550 nm. Nation 117, Lyntech, USA is used as proton exchange membrane and graphites with surface area 1.46 x 10.3 m2 are used as cathodes. Cathode chamber is fulfilled with a mixture of electrolyte compounds K3Fe（CN）6 and a buffer solution. microbes that have been cultured are applied into anode chamber. A number of factors need to be controlled so that microbes can generate electrical energy efficiently, such as by measuring the degree of acidity and DO value in the anode compartment. In this research, the usage of riboflavin as a mediator is also investigated, while the usage of riboflavin increase production efficiency 53.90% compare to mFC without riboflavin as a mediator.

有机溶剂不仅广泛应用于工业生产,而且存在于常用的家庭用品中。溶剂接触在工业化国家及工业化发展中的国家都是很常见的。尽管人们已经熟知接触有机溶剂可引起中枢神经系统中毒,肝、肾及皮肤损害,但关于溶剂接触对呼吸的影响的研究报道却很少。最近几项人群流行病学研究发现,职业性溶剂接触与呼吸道症状、肺功能损害或呼吸疾病之间存在独立相关性。由于接触资料系由个人报告,所以对这些研究结果的解释受到限制。动物研究已证实了对传导气道及呼吸气道都有不良影响,但通常是在高浓度接触的情况下。多数的人类室内研究一致报道对眼、鼻和喉有刺激作用,而无气道高反应性的证据。个案系列报道观察到吸入高浓度溶剂尤其是甲醛可致病人阻塞性和限制性损害,但职业流行病学研究尚未一致证实肺功能改变。最后,死亡率研究也未发现与溶剂使用有关的职业中由于呼吸病所致的死亡率增加。总之,溶剂已被证实能引起眼和上气道的粘膜刺激,但由于溶剂接触后肺损伤的研究却是有限的,而且是不一致的。溶剂介导的呼吸毒性在生物学上是可能存在的,但尚需进一步研究来明确接触情况并阐明损伤的特异性机制。

We have performed a multi-wavelength study toward a quasi-sinusoidal filament(CFG028.68–0.28). A new large-scale ^12CO J = 3-2 map was obtained from the China-Cologne Observation for Sub millimeter Astronomy(CCOSmA) 3m radio telescope. Based on the ATLASGAL catalog, we have identified 27 dust clumps in the filament. Through the relationship between the mass and radius of these clumps, 67% of these clumps are dense and massive enough to potentially form massive stars. The obtained CFE is ~11% in the filament. The filament has a linear mass density of ~305 m⊙pc^-1, which is smaller than its critical mass to length ratio. This suggests that the external pressure from the neighboring H Ⅱ regions may help prevent the filament from dispersing under the effects of turbulence. Comparing the energy injection from outflows and H Ⅱ regions in the filament, the ionization feedback from the H Ⅱ regions can help maintain the observed turbulence.
