Evaluation of labial versus labio-inferior lines of osteosynthesis using 3D miniplate for fractures of anterior mandible:A finite element analysis with a pilot clinical trial

Purpose:The fractures of anterior mandible are subject to severe torsional forces due to muscles acting in opposite directions.3D miniplate has been suggested as a good alternative by some ***,finite element model(FEM)studies indicate that labio-inferior positioning of two miniplates perpendicular to each other offers better stability as compared to labial *** study aims at combining the advantages of a single 3D miniplate and labio-inferior positioning of two conventional miniplates,which was assessed by finite element analysis along with a pilot clinical ***:Two FEM models were created using CT data of a 24-year-old patient with Angie class I occlusion:control model with labial plating and study model with labio-inferior *** models were processed with MIMICS.(materialise,Leuven,belgium),CATIA.(Dassault Systemes)and finite element analysis *** adopted for analysis were(1)displacement(mm)of fracture fragments during each screw fixation,(2)lingual splay and post fixation stability of fracture fragments with masticatory load,and(3)stress distribution(MPa)across fracture ***,a pilot clinical trial including five patients with anterior mandible fracture was *** fractures were managed by intraoral open reduction and 3D miniplate fixation in labio-inferior *** interfragmentary gap,post fixation lingual splay and radiographic fracture union and complications were assessed ***:Labio-inferior plating demonstrated less displacement(mm)of fracture fragments during screw fixation(0.059 vs.0.079)as well as after application of masticatory load(1.805 vs.1.860).Negligible lingual splay and less stress distribution(MPa)across fracture fragments(1.860 vs.1.847)were appreciated in the study group as compared to control *** trial support the favorable outcome related to intraoperative and postoperative assessment ***:FEM analysis and

In this paper, a steady-state Markovian multi-server retrial queueing system with bernoulli vacation scheduling service is studied. Using matrix-geometric approach, various interesting and important system performance measures are obtained. Further, the probability descriptors like ideal retrial and vain retrial are provided. Finally, extensive numerical illustrations are presented to indicate the quantifying nature of the approach to obtain solutions to this queueing system.

Trauma during pregnancy deserves special attention because of its management objectives,***-being of both pregnant woman and *** trauma directly affects the nutrition of foetus by interfering with the normal functions in a pregnant woman such as mouth *** and breathing,Hence early restitution of form and function of maxillofacial skeleton is ***,the gravid status is associated with numerous anatomical and physiological changes which present with clinical dilemma related to imaging and treatment.A careful scrutiny of the patient's systermic and gestational status is absolutely essential before,during and after instituting any interventional *** present a case of bilateral condyle fracture in a 30-year-old pregnant woman in the third trimester(32 weeks).She was treated with inter maxillary fixation using orthodontic brackets&*** successful restitution of occlusion,the patient was advised aggressive physiotherapy which ensured normal mouth *** weeks later,the patient delivered *** patient was followed up at one month and 3 month and demonstrated restitution of normal occlusion,mouth opening and lower|acial *** article aims at analyzing the contermporary principles in management of maxillfacial trauma in a pregnant woman and clarifying the common misconceptions.

Unique and hierarchically structured novel Co3O4/NiO nanosponges with superior photocatalytic activity against organic contaminants

In the present study, novel Co3O4/NiO nanosponges designed for the photocatalytic degradation of organic contaminants were synthesized by a simple precipitation technique. The formation of sponge-like nanostructures was clearly evident through the TEM analysis. The photocatalytic efficiency was tested against rhodamine b （Rhb） and congo red （CR） dye solutions. Co3O4/NiO nanosponges showed excellent and enhanced photocatalytic efficacy compared to those of Co3O4, NiO nanoparticles, and standards like Ti02 and ZnO. The influence of paramount important operational parameters was explored and the conditions for the best photocatalytic efficiency were optimized. The trapping experiment revealed that the reactive oxygen species （ROS） identified was · OH radical. These findings certainly open up a new way for synthesizing a morphology dependent photocatalyst.

Impact of Cyclone Nilam on Tropical Lower Atmospheric Dynamics

A deep depression formed over the bay of bengal on 28 October 2012, and developed into a cyclonic storm. After landfall near the south coast of Chennai, cyclone Nilam moved north-northwestwards. Coordinated experiments were conducted from the Indian stations of Gadanki（13.5？N, 79.2？E） and Hyderabad（17.4？N, 78.5？E） to study the modification of gravity-wave activity and turbulence by cyclone Nilam, using GPS radiosonde and mesosphere–stratosphere–troposphere radar data. The horizontal velocities underwent large changes during the closest approach of the storm to the experimental sites. Hodograph analysis revealed that inertia gravity waves（IGWs） associated with the cyclone changed their directions from northeast（control time） to northwest following the path of the cyclone. The momentum flux of IGWs and short-period gravity waves（1–8 h） enhanced prior to, and during, the passage of the storm（±0.05 m2s-2and ±0.3 m2s-2, respectively）, compared to the flux after its passage. The corresponding body forces underwent similar changes, with values ranging between ±2–4m s-1d-1and ±12–15 m s-1d-1. The turbulence refractivity structure constant（C2n） showed large values below 10 km before the passage of the cyclone when humidity in the region was very high. Turbulence and humidity reduced during the passage of the storm when a turbulent layer at ～17 km became more intense. Turbulence in the lower troposphere and near the tropopause became weak after the passage of the cyclone.

Hepatoprotective activity of Hepax-A polyherbal formulation

Objective:To evaluate the hepatoprotective potential of Hepax,a polyherbal formulation,against three experimentally induced hepatotoxicity models in ***:Hepatoprotective activity of Hepax was studied against three experimentally induced hepatotoxicity models,namely, carbon tetrachloride(CCl_4),paracetamol and thiocetamide induced hepatotoxicity in rats. Results:Administration of hepatotoxins(CCl_4,paracetamol and thiocetamide) showed significant morphological,biochemical and histological deteriorations in the liver of experimental animals. Pretreatment with Hepax had significant protection against hepatic damage by maintaining the morphological parameters(liver weight and liver weight to organ weight ratio) within normal range and normalizing the elevated levels of biochemical parameters(SGPT,SCOT,ALP and total bilirubin),which were evidently showed in histopathological ***:The Hepax has highly significant hepatoprotective effect at 100 and 200 mg/kg,*** the liver of all the three experimental animal models.

Effect of Hydrodynamic Conditions on Corrosion Inhibition of Cu-Ni(90/10)Alloy in Seawater and Sulphide Containing Seawater Using 1,2,3-benzotriazole

Electrochemical studies of the effect of hydrodynamic conditions on corrosion inhibition of Cu-Ni （90/10） alloy in synthetic seawater and sulphide containing synthetic seawater by 1,2,3-benzotriazole （bTAH） are presented. Impedance, potentiodynamic polarization and cyclic voltammetric （Cv） studies are employed in the present investigation. The studies are carried out by using Cu-Ni （90/10） alloy rotating disc electrode at different rotation speeds and at different immersion periods. Reynolds numbers at each rotation speed infer that the flow of seawater is laminar. With increasing rotation speed of the electrode immersed in seawater without sulphide and bTAH, both the charge transfer resistance （Rot） and film resistance （Rf^lm） are increased. However, in the presence of sulphide ions and without bTAH, both the Rot and Rf,m are found to decrease with increasing rotation speed at identical immersion periods. Interestingly, when bTAH is added to seawater or seawater containing sulphide, both the Rot and Rf,m are increased to such a great extent that an inhibition efficiency of 99.99% is obtained. In the presence of bTAH, the phase angle bode plots are more broadened and the maximum values of phase angle are increased to a value close to 90~ as the rotation speed is increased. The bTAH film is highly protective even under hydrodynamic condition also. Potentiodynamic polarization studies infer that bTAH functions as a mixed inhibitor under hydrodynamic conditions also. Cv studies reveal that the protective bTAH film is stable even at anodic potentials of ＋850 mv vs Ag/AgCI.

Up-Sampled Cross-Correlation based Object Tracking & v.b.ation Measurement in Agriculture Tractor System

This research introduces a challenge in integrating and cleaning the data,which is a crucial task in object *** the object is detected and then measured,the v.b.ation at different light intensities may inﬂuence the durability and reliability of mechanical systems or structures and cause problems such as damage,abnormal stopping,and *** research failed to improve the accuracy rate and the computation time in tracking an object and in the v.b.ation *** solve all these problems,this proposed research simpliﬁes the scaling factor determination by assigning a known real-world dimension to a predetermined portion of the image.A novel white color sticker of the known dimensions marked with a color dot is pasted on the surface of an object for the best result in the template matching using the Improved Up-Sampled Cross-Correlation(UCC)*** v.b.ation measurement is calculated using the Finite-Difference Algorithm(FDA),a machine vision systemﬁtted with a macro lens sensor that is capable of capturing the image at a closer range,which does not affect the quality of displacement measurement from the video ***ﬁeld test was conducted on the TAFE(Tractors and Farm Equipment Limited)tractor parts,and the percentage of error was recorded between 30%and 50%at very low v.b.ation values close to zero,whereas it was recorded between 5%and 10%error in most high-accelerations,the essential range for v.b.ation ***,the suggested system is more suitable for measuring the v.b.ation of stationary machinery having low frequency *** use of a macro lens enables to capture of image frames at very close-ups.A 30%to 50%error percentage has been reported when the v.b.ation amplitude is very ***,this study is not suitable for Nano v.b.ation analysis.

volumetric, Ultrasonic and Transport Properties of binary Liquid Mixtures Containing Dimethyl Formamide at 303.15 K

Excess volumes （v^E）, ultrasonic velocities （u）, isentropic compressibility （△Ks） and viscosities （η） for the binary mixtures of dimethyl formamide （DMF） with 1,2-dichlorobenzene, 1,3-dichlorobenzene, 1,2,4-trichlorobenzene, o-chlorotoluene, m-chlorotoluene, p-chlorotoluene, o-nitrotoluene and m-nitrotoluene at 303.15 K were studied. Excess volume data exhibit an inversion in sign for the mixtures of dimethyl formamide with 1,2- and 1,3-dichlorobenzenes and the property is completely positive over the entire composition range for the mixtures of dimethyl formamide with 1,2,4-trichlorobenzene, o-nitrotoluene and m-nitrotoluene. On the other hand, the quantity is negative for the mixtures of dimethyl formamide with chlorotoluenes. Isentropic compressibility （Ks） has been computed for the same systems from precise sound velocity and density data. Further, deviation of isentropic com- pressibility （△Ks） from ideal behavior was also calculated. AKs values are negative over the entire volume fraction range in all the binary mixtures. The experimental sound velocity data were analysed in terms of Free Length Theory （FLT） and Collision Factor Theory （CFT）. The viscosity data were analysed on the basis of corresponding state approach. The measured data were discussed on the basis of intermolecular interactions between unlike molecules.
