A multilane extension of the single-lane anisotropic continuum model （GK model） developed by gupta and Katiyar for traffic flow is discussed with the consideration of the coupling effect between the vehicles of different lanes in the instantaneous traffic situation and the lane-changing effect. The conditions for securing the linear stability of the new model are presented. The shock and the rarefaction waves, the local cluster effect and the phase transition are investigated through simulation experiments with the new model and are found to be consistent with the diverse nonlinear dynamical phenomena observed in a real traffic flow. The analysis also focuses on empirically observed two- lane phenomena, such as lane usage inversion and the density dependence of the number of lane changes. It is shown that single-lane dynamics can be extended to multilane cases without changing the basic properties of the single-lane model. The results show that the new multilane model is capable of explaining some particular traffic phenomena and is in accordance with real traffic flow.

This paper presents our study of the nonlinear stability of a new anisotropic continuum traffic flow model in which the dimensionless parameter or anisotropic factor controls the non-isotropic character and diffusive influence. In order to establish traff^c flow stability criterion or to know the critical parameters that lead, on one hand, to a stable response to perturbations or disturbances or, on the other hand, to an unstable response and therefore to a possible congestion, a nonlinear stability criterion is derived by using a wavefront expansion technique. The stability criterion is illustrated by numerical results using the finite difference method for two different values of anisotropic parameter. It is also been observed that the newly derived stability results are consistent with previously reported results obtained using approximate linearisation methods. Moreover, the stability criterion derived in this paper can provide more refined information from the perspective of the capability to reproduce nonlinear traffic flow behaviors observed in real traffic than previously established methodologies.

In this paper, a mathematical model for Love wave propagation in a porous elastic layer under a rigid boundary resting over a poro-elastic half-space has been developed. The study shows that such a medium transmits two types of Love waves. The first front depends on the change in volume fraction of the pores whereas the second front depends upon the modulus of rigidity of the elastic matrix of the medium and is the same as the Love wave in an elastic layer over an elastic half-space. It is observed that the first front is many times faster than the shear wave in the medium with void pores due to the change in the volume fraction of the pores and is significant.

This paper reports the results of an investigation carried out on clay soil stabilized with pond ash(PA),rice husk ash(RHA) and cement. Modified Proctor compaction tests were performed in order to investigate the compaction behavior of clay, and California bearing ratio(CBR) tests were performed to determine the strength characteristics of clay. For evaluation purpose, the specimens containing different amounts of admixtures were prepared. Clay was replaced with PA and RHA at a dosage of 30%e45% and5%e20%, respectively. The influence of stabilizer types and dosages on mechanical properties of clay was evaluated. In order to study the surface morphology and crystallization characteristics of the soil samples, scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and X-ray diffraction(XRD) analyses were carried out,respectively. The results obtained indicated a decrease in the maximum dry density(MDD) and a simultaneous increase in the optimum moisture content(OMC) with the addition of PA and *** linear regression analysis(MLRA) showed that the predicted values of CBR tests are in good agreement with the experimental values. Developed stabilized soil mixtures showed satisfactory strength and can be used for construction of embankments and stabilization of sub-grade soil. The use of locally available soils, PA, RHA, and cement in the production of stabilized soils for such applications can provide sustainability for the local construction industry.

Companies are eager to have a smart supply chain especially when they have adynamic system. Industry 4.0 is a concept which concentrates on mobility andreal-time integration. Thus, it can be considered as a necessary component thathas to be implemented for a dynamic vehicle routing problem. The aim of thisresearch is to solve large-scale DVRP (LSDVRP) in which the delivery vehiclesmust serve customer demands from a common depot to minimize transit costswhile not exceeding the capacity constraint of each vehicle. In LSDVRP, it isdifficult to get an exact solution and the computational time complexity growsexponentially. To find near-optimal answers for this problem, a hierarchicalapproach consisting of three stages: “clustering, route-construction, routeimprovement”is proposed. The major contribution of this paper is dealing withLSDVRP to propose the three-stage algorithm with better results. The resultsconfirmed that the proposed methodology is applicable.

This paper presents a new feature descriptor, namely local extreme complete trio pattern （LECTP） for image retrieval application. The LECTP extracts complete extreme to minimal edge information in all possible directions using trio values. The LECTP integrates the local extreme sign trio patterns （LESTP） with magnitude local operator （MLOP） for image retrieval. The performance of the LECTP is tested by conducting three experiments on Corel-5 000, Corel-10 000 and MIT-VisTex color databases, respectively. The results after investigation show a significant improvement in terms of average retrieval precision （ARP） and average retrieval rate （ARR） as compared to the other state-of-the art techniques in content based image retrieval （CBIR）.

In this paper, a surface potential based threshold voltage model of fully-depleted（FD） recessed-source/drain（Re-S/D）silicon-on-insulator（SOI） metal-oxide semiconductor field-effect transistor（MOSFET） is presented while considering the effects of high-k gate-dielectric material induced fringing-field. The two-dimensional（2D） Poisson＇s equation is solved in a channel region in order to obtain the surface potential under the assumption of the parabolic potential profile in the transverse direction of the channel with appropriate boundary conditions. The accuracy of the model is verified by comparing the model＇s results with the 2D simulation results from ATLAS over a wide range of channel lengths and other parameters,including the dielectric constant of gate-dielectric material.

As the world is facing a Covid-19 pandemic,this virus teaches a lesson about the importance of on-site ***-site disinfection/sterilization with real-time monitoring of biomedical waste generated from the medical facilities is mandatory to prevent hospital-acquired infection(HAI).In this study,the life cycle assessment of two technologies,i.e.,microwave(radiation-based)and autoclave(steam-based)were performed to summarize the inside-out evaluation of both technologies in terms of efficiency,efficacy,and *** results of disinfection efficacy indicated a log 10 reduction(almost 100%)in the vegetative load of microorganisms compared to the control,showing a similar level of disinfection efficacy of both ***,both technologies were compared on several parameters,and it was discovered that the autoclave uses more time and resources than the *** total cost of an autoclave to the government is approximately double that of a microwave,while the operational cost of an autoclave is more than double that of a *** findings from this study indicate that MACS may be used as a dry technique of biomedical disinfection,and its portability,tunability,and compactness make it a suitable alternative for biomedical disinfection and sterilization.
