Objective:To evaluate in vitro antioxidant and apoptotic activities of Crperus rotundas(***).Methods:The phytochemical study and the antioxidant activities of both methanol and aqueous extracts from *** aerial part were *** addition,these extracts were also investigated for their cytotoxic and apoptotic *** major compound of the methanol extract was *** metlianol and aqueous extracts(300,150,and 50μg/mL)were evaluated for their antioxidant activity by the xanthine/xanthine oxidase assay ***,16,8,and 4 mg/mL of each extract were tested to investigate their *** scavenging *** extract(800,*** 200μg/mL)and melhunol extract(350,175,and 88μg/mL)were tested against lipid peroxidation,induced by 75μM H_2O_2,The cytotoxicity(by MTT assay)and cell DNA fragmentation of both extracts were evaluated Inwards K562 and L1210 cell *** major compound was obtained from the butanol fraction of methanol extract and its structure was determined by KMN spectroscopic ***:The methanol and aqueous extracts showed respectively,88%and 19%inhibition of xanthine oxidase *** same extracts inhibited lipid peroxidation by 61.5%and 42.0%.*** extracts inhibited *** by 27.1%and 25.3%,*** methanol cxtract induced DNA *** was determined as the major compound isolated from the butanol fraction of metlianol ***:It appears that *** extracts exhibit a potential use as a natural antioxidant and an apoptosis inducer.

Cotton Utilization in Conventional and Non-Conventional Textiles—A Statistical Review

World textile fiber demand was 89.8 million tons in 2015 and is expected to grow to 93.7 million tons in 2016. Global demand for textile fibers is driven by population growth and by economic activity resulting in increasing wealth, particularly in emerging economies. While this overall trend is consistent across most major fibers, there are substantial disparities in the demand patterns of natural versus man-made fiber, with cotton and polyester being the primary protagonists. This paper charts recent trends and potential opportunities relevant to cotton fiber utilization in conventional and non-conventional textile products.

Healing Humor: The Use of Humor in the Nurse-Patient Relationship

Objective: To identify the importance of using humor in patient/nurse relationship, its factors, its conditions and the barriers that might limit its use. Methods: We systematically searched PubMed, Science Direct and Google Scholar, for relevant articles published in English between 2010 and 2019. We included the studies that investigated humor between nurses and their patient’s relationship. Results: From the initial 287 articles found, 15 were included for final revision. Data allowed retrieving information on humor definition;its applicability as a nursing intervention;humor as a tool to improve nurse-patient communication and relationship;influencing factors;humor benefits in health care context and the limits that come against its use. Conclusion: Humor is considered a powerful communication tool, it promotes well-being, relieves anxiety and stress, helps deal with stressful situations but it should be used cautiously in order to prevent undesired consequences.
