Variation of stress intensity factors for several interface crack problems under arbitrary material combinations

In this paper the variation of interface stress intensity factors is considered under arbitrary material combinations for several problems such as central internal interface cracks, periodic interface cracks, and edge interface cracks. The stress intensity factors for all these problems have been determined in terms of Dundurs＇ parameters a, b by the application of FEM in the authors＇ previous papers. In this paper, the variations of the stress intensity factors for all these problems are discussed under arbitrary a, b, then the maximum and minimum values of dimensionless stress intensity factors FI,max, FII,max, FI,min, FII,max are indicated on the map of a, b. As an example, it is found that FI,max always appears when （a, b）= （0.2,0.3）, and FI,min always appears when （a, b）= （1,0）, for the central internal interface cracks independent of crack length.

The photocatalytic hydrogen production from aqueous methanol solution using titanium dioxide （TiO2） was investigated in the addition of metal particles including copper, lead, tin, and zinc. The results show that only the addition of copper particles enhances the hydrogen production. The copper usage and reaction temperature were further optimized for TiO2/Cu photocatalyts. Under the optimal conditions, the hydrogen production using TiO2/Cu as photocatalysts is approxi- mately 68 times higher than that obtained with only TiO2.

Introduction:Citizen science has contributed substantially to the quantity of biodiversity data collections and is used as an essential monitoring scheme for global conservation ***,there remain large gaps in the geographic and taxonomic coverage of data collections,and different levels of interest in participation and uneven distribution of participants can result in biased data collection in citizen science *** issues must be addressed for more efficient use of citizen science-based biodiversity *** compared web search volumes with citizen-collected occurrence data of Japanese Red List ***:Uneven distribution of web search volumes with different taxa was correlated with the amount of data collected by citizen-volunteered ***,the relative web search volumes and amounts of citizen-collected data showed similar spatial patterns at the province ***:Overall,our results indicate that web search volume can indirectly reflect potential citizen participation or interest in particular *** search behavior can help project coordinators estimate potential citizen engagement and refine efficient citizen participation programs for biodiversity conservation.

Investigation on Retention and Release Behaviors of Hydrogen and Helium in Vanadium Alloy

Vanadium alloy is proposed as an attractive candidate for first wall and blanket structural material of fusion reactors. The retention and release behaviors of hydrogen and helium in vanadium alloy may be an important issue. In the present work, 1.7 keV deuterium and 5 keV helium ions are respectively implanted into V-4Cr-4Ti and V-4Ti at room temperature. The retention and release of deuterium and helium are measured with thermal desorption spectroscopy (TDS). When the helium ion fluence is larger than 3 × 1017 He/cm2, the retained helium saturates with a value of approximately 2.5 ×1017 He/cm2. However, when the ion fluence is 1×1019 D/cm2, the hydrogen saturation in vanadium alloy does not take place. Experimental results indicates that hydrogen and helium retention in vanadium alloy may lead to serious problems and special attention should be paid when it is applied to fusion reactors.

Morphology Effects of Leading-edge Serrations on Aerodynamic Force Production： An Integrated Study Using PIV and Force Measurements

While the leading-edge serration in owls＇ wing is known to be responsible for low noise gliding and flapping flights, the findings on its aero-acoustic role have been diverse or even controversial. Here we present an experimental study of the morphological effects of leading-edge serrations on aerodynamic force production by utilizing owl-inspired, single-feather, clean and serrated wing models with different serration lengths and spacing, and by combining Particle Image Velocimetry （PIV） and force measurements. Force measurements show that an increase in the length and density of the leading-edge serrations leads to a reduction in the lift coefficient and lift-to-drag ratio at Angles of Attack （AoAs）〈 15° whereas the clean and serrated wings achieve comparable aerodynamic performance at higher AoAs 〉 15°, which owl wings often reach in flight. Furthermore PIV visualization of the flow fluctuations demonstrates that the leading-edge serration-based mechanism is consistent in all serrated wing models in terms of passive control of the laminar-turbulent transition while at AoAs 〉 15° similar suction flow is present at leading edge resulting in a comparable aerodynamic performance to that of the clean wing. Our results indicate the robustness and usefulness of leading-edge serration-inspired devices for aero-acoustic control in biomimetic rotor designs.

In 4-dimensional R-gravity, using the linear and square terms of the expanding expression of the space-time connection, we calculate the possible curvature excitation （order k^4） of gravitational field, which is given by the first term of quantum Wilson loop （w） through two-point Green＇s function of the connection. At the same time using the tree diagram propagators of gravitons, the lowest order （k^4） correction to （w） is also calculated through the graviton self-energy in the term. Under the accuracy condition up to order k^4, we have obtained a complete expression of the excitation contributed from the leading term （w^（2））of （w）.

Tin-based perovskite solar cells(TPSCs)as the most promising candidate for lead-free PSCs have incurred extensive researches all over the ***,the crystallization process of tin-based perovskite is too fast during the solution-deposited process,resulting in abundant pinholes and poor homogeneity that cause serious charge recombination in perovskite ***,we employed theπ-conjugated Lewis base molecules with high electron density to systematically control the crystallization rate of FASnI3 perovskite by forming stable intermediate phase with the Sn-I frameworks,leading to a compact and uniform perovskite film with large increase in the carrier ***,the introduction of theπ-conjugated systems also retards the permeation of moisture into perovskite crystal,which significantly suppresses the film degradation in *** benefits contributed to a stabilizing power conversion efficiency(PCE)of 10.1%for the TPSCs and maintained over 90%of its initial PCE after 1000-h light soaking in ***,a steady-state efficiency of 9.2%was certified at the accredited test center.
