Urothelial Carcinoma (UC) is one of the most frequent cancers worldwide. Transurethral Resection of Bladder Tumor (TURBT) is a standard treatment in the disease’s early stages, with bladder perforation being a possible and classical complication. However, extravesical tumor seeding resulting from perforation is a rare phenomenon. We hereby report the case of a 76-year-old man with a history of smoking diagnosed with high-grade T1 urothelial carcinoma. TURBT was performed and bladder perforation occurred during the procedure. Radical cystectomy after neoadjuvant chemotherapy failed to reveal an invasive tumor. However, the patient experienced peritoneal recurrence with liver metastasis 3 years following the operation. This case left physician wondering whether the bladder perforation and the resulting tumor seeding are the cause behind the late peritoneal recurrence of an early-stage urothelial carcinoma.

Bubble flows consist a liquid phase and a gaseous phase dispersed as bubbles. They occur in nature and in many industrial applications, such as oil transportation in pipelines and steam generators for power generation. Due to large difference in density between gas and liquid, the flottability force causes bubbles to rise, which in turn can generate overall motion and agitation in liquid. This use of gravity as a flow driver, which is specific to disperse phase systems, is used in process engineering (bubble columns and gasosiphon) to sparingly promote mixing and exchange between gas and liquid. In many applications, bubbles are used to agitate a liquid in order to promote mixing and transfers. This work is devoted to study of hydrodynamics of a bubble column. Experimentally, we have determined properties fluctuations of velocities inside the aquarium of rising homogeneous bubbles for different bubble sizes and vacuum rates. The interfacial area between gas and liquid phase is a crucial factor for mass transfer in bubble columns. The molecular exchange between a given volume of gas and water can be enhanced by formation of smaller bubbles, leading to a larger gas-liquid interface. This work presents the various physical phenomena that apply to bubbles, as well as associated dimensionless numbers. A state art of Micro-Bubble Generators (MBG) is then presented, presenting systems using various phenomena such as cavitation, electrolysis, or shear.

Results of the Management of Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumors (GIST): About 6 Cases at the Vichy Hospital Center (France)

The aim of our study was to analyze the results of surgical management of gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GIST) at the Vichy Hospital Center. Methodology: Between 2010 and 2020, the data of 6 patients operated at the Vichy Hospital Center for GIST were analyzed. The parameters studied were: age, sex, antecedents, discovery circumstances, imagery, surgical procedure, anatomopathological data, the follow-up and the morbidity-mortality. Results: There were 5 men and one woman with an average age of 72.16 years [58 - 80 years]. The average time of evolution was 8 months (0 - 14 months). The diagnosis was fortuitous in 2 cases. Atypical abdominal pain was the main symptom in 3 cases. One case was received in a clinical picture of peritoneal irritation syndrome. Echo-endoscopy with biopsy specimen histology made it possible to make the diagnosis in 5 cases and the surgical specimen in 1 case. The fusiform type was the predominant histological form. The stomach was the most common location. The average size of GISTs was 7.3 × 4 cm with a positive C Kit in all patients. Neoadjuvant chemotherapy was performed on one patient. Surgery was curative and was done laparoscopically on 4 patients. Adjuvant chemotherapy based on Imatinib at a rate of 400 mg/d in 3 patients was initiated. One patient presented a fistula of the esophagus-jejunal anastomosis on D6 post operation controlled by a drainage and an antibiotic therapy. Mortality was zero. During the surgery, all of the patients were followed up with surgeon, oncologist. Conclusion: GISTs are the most common mesenchymal tumors of the digestive tract with a preferential gastric location. Laparoscopic surgery, with advances in molecular biology and the introduction of targeted therapy has improved the management of these tumors in terms of morbidity and mortality.

Chemostratigraphic Characterization Tests on Sedimentary Formations in the Côte D’Ivoire Offshore Basin: Case of A-X and B-X Wells

The tests performed with two hundred and thirty-nine (239) samples from the A-X and B-X drillings help to know their sedimentological and chemostratigraphic characters. In sedimentological term formations are composed of sand, sandstone, limestone, siltstone and argillite that alternate along the drill. In chemostratigraphic term two megasequences (MS1 and MS2) have been identified. A correlation of chemostratigraphic data completed by the lithology results allowed a subdivision of oil wells that shows two main types of deposits environments. First, a proximal marine environment to continental and to Albian marked by a detrital flow deducted from the concentrations evolution of indicator elements of terrigenous material that are K, Mg, and Rb. On the other hand, a deep to shallow marine environment of Cenomanian to Paleocene marked by the presence of predominantly clay sediments and abundant glauconite in the lower Senonian. Nevertheless, there is a transition or intermediate environment that is characterized by the presence of glauconite and detrital flows.

既往腹膜表面肿瘤学科的培训常通过医师的个人自学实现,鉴于目前这一学科的发展,对该领域专家的需求越来越大,因此有必要形成组织化的教育和培训方式。在欧洲外科肿瘤学会(ESSO)和国际腹膜表面恶性肿瘤学会(Peritoneal Surface Oncology Group International,PSOGI)的共同努力下,欧洲腹膜表面肿瘤学院(ESPSO)于2014年成立。该组织基于导师制的腹膜表面肿瘤学培训项目,已获得欧洲认证。自该项目成立年至2021年7月14日,共有42名外科医生从该培训项目毕业,其中大多数来自欧洲,也有部分非欧洲的毕业生,这使得该项目具有全球影响力。目前,已有35名候选学员已在欧洲和非欧洲培训中心完成注册。鉴于当前培训的成功,该项目正在加速发展,目前不断有新的教员加入以及新的培训活动开展。欧洲腹膜表面肿瘤学学院成功建立了一个结构化的基于导师制的培训项目,并获得了专业认证。得益于来自全球的大量毕业生和候选学员,使该项目获得了预期的声望,满足了学员的需求,并为本培训项目下一步计划的实施提供了保障。本文主要介绍此培训项目方案。

Background: Bacterial vaginosis represents a public health problem due to its high frequency in our various health facilities. Vaginal douching used by women as a means to achieve hygienic measures could be potentially dangerous. The objective of the study is to aim at bringing forth epidemiological data on intra-genital hygiene practices, determine the prevalence of bacterial vaginosis and the association between these vaginal practices and this genital infection. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted on March 2022 on patients received in Human Biology Laboratory of Institute of Medical Research and Medicinal Plants Studies, in Yaoundé. Data were collected by questionnaire after an oral and written consent obtained from the patients. Vaginal swabs were collected and inoculated on to Blood Agar, Chocolate with polyvitex. Identification was done using morphologically appearance, Gram staining and biochemicals tests. Statistical analysis was done using SPSS 20 software. Results: A total of 120 patients were enrolled during the study. The most represented age group of participants was 25 to 35 years with 62.5%. The overall prevalence of bacterial vaginosis was 29.16%. The prevalence of bacterial vaginosis varied according to the number of lifetime male sexual partners, women who reported having only one sexual partner in their life had a prevalence rate of 23.32%. The prevalence of bacterial vaginosis was higher in patients living in urban areas (23.33%). No significant correlation was observed between bacterial vaginosis and regularly vaginal douching and practice of intimate vaginal cleansing (p = 0.980). Conclusion: Our findings indicated that sexual behaviour traits may have an impact on the relatively high prevalence of bacterial vaginosis. This suggests that comprehensive health education programmes may be necessary to lower the incidence of bacterial vaginosis, which indicate the need for comprehensive and programmed health education programs aimed at r

In inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) analysis, only a few options are available to deal with non-spectroscopic interferences. Considering that diluting the sample is impractical for traces analysis, other alternatives must be employed. Traditionally, the method of standard additions is used to correct the matrix effect but it is a time consuming method. Others methods involves separation techniques. Another way to overcome matrix interferences is to understand the mechanism involved and adjust plasma viewing conditions to reduce or eliminate the effect. In this study, the effect of various concomitant elements in ICP-MS was assessed by measuring the distribution of selected singly charged analyte ions (Al, V, Cr, Mn, Ni, Co, Cu, Zn, As, In, Ba, La, Ce, Pb), doubly charged ions (La, Ce, Ba and Pb) and oxides ions (BaO) in the presence of concomitant elements spanning a mass range from 23 (Na) to 133 (Cs) u.m.a. and different ionization energies. Concomitant elements are alkali metals, alkaline earth metals and Si. Analyte ion suppression was observed while moving the ICP across and away from the sampling interface with or without a single concomitant element. Matrix effect measures were realised, firstly, to highlight the relation between the signal extinction of an analyte and the masse of the concomitant element, and secondly to highlight the relation between the removal of the analyte signal and the first ionization energy of the element of matrix. A dependence upon both the mass of the matrix element and the mass of the analyte was observed. The suppression seems increased with increasing matrix element mass and decreased with increasing analyte mass. The effect of the mass of the matrix element was the more significant of the two factors. If space-charge effects were found to be significant for matrix elements of much lower mass, it seems diffusion also played an active part for heavier matrix elements. The 800-m(m)run is part of Physical Education classes in Cameroon,after which arrhythmias may occur during ***,this study aimed at determining relationship between 800-m run loads on cardiac autonomic recovery among school ***-two male adolescents(aged[17-1]years)performed ***-exercise heart rate variability(HRV)was recorded during 5-min(min)(HRV5-min)and 15-min(HRV15-min)in time:Standard deviation of normal to normal(SDNN);Root mean square of successive differences(RMSSD)and frequency domain(LH:Low frequency,HF:High frequency,TP:Total power).Rating of Perceived Exertion(RPE)and blood lactate concentration(BLa)were measured after *** HRV5-min,RPE was associated with SDNN(r=-0.44,p<0.01)and RMSSD(r=-0.38,p<0.05).BLa was correlated with SDNN(r=-0.38,p<0.05)and RMSSD(r=-0.56,p<0.001)in the time-domain,LF(r=-0.64,p<0.001),HF(r=-0.58,p<0.001)and TP(r=-0.61,p<0.001)in frequency***,RPE was correlated with LF(r=-0.44,p<0.01),TP(r=-0.49,p<0.01)while exercise duration with HF(r=-0.38,p<0.05).In HRV15-min,BLa was correlated with RMSSD(r=-0.53,p<0.001)and SDNN(r=-0.68,p<0.001).RPE was negatively correlated SDNN(r=-0.53,p<0.01)and RMSSD(r=-0.44,p<0.01).BLa was associated with HF(r=-0.55,p<0.001),TP(r=-0.50,p<0.01)and RPE with LF(r=-0.51,p<0.01),HF(r=-0.50,p<0.01),TP(r=-0.49,p<0.01).In addition,exercise duration was negatively linked to HF(r=-0.36,p<0.05).This study outlined that in untrained adolescents an increase of 800-m loads is associated with a slow vagal indexes of HRV during the recovery.
