Physicochemical properties of Li_(3)Ba_(2)La_(3)(MoO_(4))_(8):Eu,Tb red-emitting phosphor for solid state white lamps

In this work,combustion synthesis was used for the first time to fabricate a phosphor material with red emission for applications in solid-state white-light *** synthesized a material with emission wavelength at λ_(em)=617 nm,excited under long UV-blue wavelength based on Eu^(3+),Tb^(3+)-activated molybdates Li_(3)Ba_(2)(La_(1-x-y)Eu_(x)Tb_(y))_(3)(MoO_(4))_(8) with 0 ≤ x ≤1 and 0 ≤ y ≤ 1.A series of powder samples were produced by the combustion method and post-annealed at 800℃ in *** crystalline phase formation was investigated by X-ray diffraction,which reveals the monoclinic C2/c(15) space *** is observed that crystalline structure and morphology are preserved when the host lattice is doped with Eu^(3+) or Tb^(3+) single ions and co-doped with both ions at different doping concentrations.A detailed characterization by scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and transmission electron microscopy(TEM)shows a similar morphology in all samples:rather large(1-7 μm) agglomerate particles with irregular shapes and surrounded by smaller nanoparticles of 50 nm in ***-visible absorption spectra confirm the presence of Eu^(3+) and Tb^(3+) *** luminescent properties of the obtained phosphors were studied in *** measurements indicate that the best emission intensity is for Eu^(3+):Tb^(3+)doping ratios of 80:0,90:0 and 20:*** the other hand,samples with 80:0,60:40,and 20:80 doping ratios show the highest intensity in a detailed photoluminescence analysis and they exhibit the highest quantum yield values.A complete and efficient energy transfer from the sensitizer Tb^(3+) to the activator Eu^(3+) is observed in all co-doped phosphors post-annealed at 800℃ for 4 ***,the Li_(3)Ba_(2)La_(3)(MaO_(4))_(8):Eu^(3+),Tb^(3+) materials fabricated by combustion synthesis are excellent phosphors for being applied as red-emitting component in solid-state white-light lamps due to an improved color rendering index(CRI) that can be obtained under lo

ROS-hormone interaction in regulating integrative défense signaling of plant cell

The elaborate redox network of the cell,comprising of events like turnover of reactive oxygen species(ROS),redox sensing,signaling,expression of redox-sensitive genes,etc.,often orchestrates with other bonafide hormonal signaling pathways through their synergistic or antagonistic action in the plant *** redox cue generated in plant cells under fluctuating environmental conditions can significantly influence other hormonal biosynthetic or signaling mechanisms,thereby modulating physiology towards stress acclimation and *** is also strong evidence of the recruitment of ROS as a‘second messenger’in different hormonal signaling pathways under ***,the retrograde signaling initiated by ROS also found to strongly influence hormonal homeostasis and *** present review,in this aspect,is an effort towards understanding the regulatory roles of ROS in integrating and orchestrating other hormonal signaling pathways or vice versa so as to unfold the relationship between these two signaling episodes of plant cells under environmental *** also accentuate the significance of understanding the utterly complex interactions,which occur both at metabolic and genetic levels between ROS and phytohormones during stress ***,the significant and decisive role of ROS turnover,particularly the contribution of RBOH(respiratory burst oxidase homologs)in the synergism of redox and hormone signaling during systemic acquired acclimation under stress is also discussed.

An efficient hybrid protection scheme with shared/dedicated backup paths on elastic optical networks

Fast recovery and minimum utilization of resources are the two main criteria for determining the protection scheme quality. We address the problem of providing a hybrid protection approach on elastic optical networks under contiguity and continuity of available spectrum constraints. Two main hypotheses are used in this paper for backup paths computation. In the first case, it is assumed that backup paths resources are dedicated. In the second case, the assumption is that backup paths resources are available shared resources. The objective of the study is to minimize spectrum utilization to reduce blocking probability on a network. For this purpose, an efficient survivable Hybrid Protection Lightpath （HybPL） algorithm is proposed for providing shared or dedicated backup path protection based on the efficient energy calculation and resource availability. Traditional First-Fit and Best-Fit schemes are employed to search and assign the available spectrum resources. The simulation results show that HybPL presents better performance in terms of blocking probability, compared with the Minimum Resources Utilization Dedicated Protection （MRU-DP） algorithm which offers better performance than the Dedicated Protection （DP） algorithm.

Effect of Tilmicosin on Fetal Developments in Pregnant Female Albino Rats

The effect of tilmicosin on fetal development in pregnant female rats was investigated in this study. Forty pregnant female rats were divided into four groups (each of 10 female rats). Rats in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd groups were received tilmicosin at a dose of 20, 100, 200 mg/kg·b·wt/day orally from the 6th to 15th day of gestation respectively, while the 4th group received 0.5 ml distilled water orally for the same period of gestation and was used as control group. All the pregnant female rats were sacrificed on the 20th day of gestation and their fetuses were subjected to morphological, visceral and skeletal examinations. Tilmicosin at a dose 100, 200 mg/kg·b·wt significantly decreased the number of viable fetuses;the number of resorbed fetuses was increased, and induced retardation in growth of viable fetuses;some skeletal and visceral defects in these fetuses were observed and these effects were dose dependant. It could be concluded that tilmicosin caused some abnormalities and fetal defects, so it is recommended to avoid using pregnancy.

Tuberculous Arthritis of Knee Presenting as Bakers Cyst: A Case Report

Tuberculosis (TB) is no longer confined to undeveloped or developing nations. Today, one third of world’s population suffers from tuberculosis. Tuberculosis (TB) of the musculoskeletal system is an uncommon infection caused by tuberculous bacilli and constitutes 1%-5% of all forms of TB. 30% of skeletal TB involves the joints, the knee being the third most commonly affected after the spine and the hip. Knee tuberculosis commonly presents as synovitis or arthritis. Baker’s cyst is a rather rare complication of knee joint tuberculosis. We report a case of a 50-year-old man with tuberculous arthritis of the right knee who presented to us as baker’s cyst.

Focal fatty change in the liver that developed after cholecystectomy

Focal fatty change of the segment IV of the liver has been attributed to local systemic venous inflow replacing the portal venous supply, which could develop or be accentuated after gastrectomy. However, focal fatty change due to aberrant pancreaticoduodenal vein that developed after cholecystectomy has never been reported. We report a 30-year-old man with such a rare lesion, which was initially misdiagnosed as a hepatocellular carcinoma, but was confirmed on computed tomography during selective gastroduodenal arteriography. The lesion disappeared 12 mo later without any intervention.

Moringa oleifera is well known as a highly nutritious plant and a water purifier in fish *** fish has many impressive qualities making them very suitable for ***,this study aimed to evaluate the effect of supplementation of Moringa oleifera aqueous extract(MOAE)at varying concentrations(0,100,200,and 400 mg/kg diet for 90 days)on growth performance,hematological,and some biochemical parameters of Nile ***,histological changes and immunohistochemical expression of caspase 3 in gills and livers were *** enhancements(Pnal weight,weight gain,specific growth rate,red blood cells,hemoglobin,packed cell volume,white blood cells,and total serum protein were observed in fish fed 200 mg MOAE/kg diet compared with other ***,a significant reduction(P<0.05)of liver and kidney function tests and non-significant changes in lipid profile were *** the other hand,fish fed 400 mg MOAE/kg diet revealed disturbance in the corresponding *** histological degenerative changes were detected in the gills and liver of fish fed 400 mg MOAE/kg *** comparison,fish fed 200 mg MOAE/kg diet showed the best histo-architectures of these organs compared with other *** immune expressions of caspase 3 were determined where gills and liver of fish fed 400 mg MOAE/kg diet revealed extensive number of positive caspase 3 cells indicating severe apoptotic ***,a dietary MOAE at 200 mg/kg diet is recommended to improve the growth performance,hematological parameters,liver and kidney functions in Nile ***,caution must be considered when using MOAE at a concentration over 200 mg/kg diet.

Evolution to 200G Passive Optical Network

New generation passive optical network aims at providing more than 100 Gb/s capacity. Thanks to recent progress enabling a variety of optical transceivers up to 40 Gb/s, many evolution possibilities to 200G PONs （passive optical network） could be investigated. This work proposes two directly deployable cases of evolution to 200G PON based on the combination of these improved optical transceivers and WDM （wavelength division multiplexing）. The physical layer of the optical network has been simulated with OptiSystem software to show the communication links performances behavior when considering key components parameters in order to achieve good network design for a given area. The complexity of the proposed architectures and financial cost comparisons are also discussed.
