The most suitable bio-analytical method based on liquid liquid extr.ction has been developed and validated for.quantification of r.sagiline in human plasma. r.sagiline-13C3 mesylate was used as an inter.al standar. for.r.sagiline. Zor.ax Eclipse Plus C18 （2.1 mm × 50 mm, 3.5 um） column pr.vided chr.matogr.phic separ.tion of analyte followed by detection with mass spectr.metr.. The method involved simple isocr.tic chr.matogr.phic condition and mass spectr.metr.c detection in the positive ionization mode using an API-4000 system. The lotal r.n time was 3.0 min. The pr.posed method has been validated with the linear.r.nge of 5 12000 pg/mL for.r.sagiline. The intr.-r.n and inter.r.n pr.cision values wer. within 1.3% 2.9% and 1.6% 2.2% r.spectively for.r.sagiline. The over.ll r.cover. for.r.sagiline and r.sagiline-13C3 mesylate analog was 96.9% and 96.7% r.spectively. This validated method was successfully applied to the bioequivalence and phar.acokinetic study of human volunteer. under.fasting condition.

Color.ctal cancer.Cr.) is a major.public health concer. being the thir. leading cause of cancer.mor.ality in the United States. The availability of better.ther.peutic options has led to a decline in cancer.mor.ality in these patients. Sur.ical r.section should be consider.d in all stages of the disease. The use of conver.ion ther.py has made sur.er. a potentially cur.tive option even in patients with initially unr.sectable metastatic disease. In this r.view we discuss the r.le of var.ous antiangiogenic agents in patients with metastatic Cr.(m Cr.). We descr.be the mechanism of action of these agents, and the r.tionale for.their.use in combination with chemother.py. We also r.view impor.ant clinical studies that have evaluated the safety and efficacy of these agents in m Cr. patients. Despite the discover. of sever.l pr.mising anti-angiogenic agents, m Cr. r.mains an incur.ble disease with a median over.ll sur.ival of just over.2 year. in patients exposed to all available tr.atment r.gimens. Fur.her.insights into tumor.biology and tumor.micr.envir.nment may help impr.ve outcomes in these patients.

For.the past few decades, intensive studies have been car.ied out in an attempt to under. stand how the amino acid sequences of pr.teins encode their.thr.e dimensional str.ctur.s to per.or. their.specific functions. In or.er.to under.tand the sequence-str.ctur. r.lationship of pr.teins, sev- er.l sub-sequence sear.h studies in non-r.dundant sequence-str.ctur. databases have been under. taken which have given some fr.itful clues. In our.ear.ier.wor., we analyzed a set of 3124 non- r.dundant pr.tein sequences fr.m the Pr.tein Data Bank （PDB） and r.tr.eved 30 identical octapep- tides having differ.nt secondar. str.ctur.s. These octapeptides wer. char.cter.zed by using differ.nt computational pr.cedur.s. This pr.mpted us to explor. the pr.sence of octapeptides with r.ver.e sequences and to analyze whether.these octapeptides would adopt similar.str.ctur.s as that of their.par.nt octapeptides. Our.identical r.ver.e octapeptide sear.h r.sulted in the finding of eight octapep- tide pair. （octapeptide and r.ver.e octapeptide） with similar.secondar. str.ctur. and 23 octapeptide pair. with differ.nt secondar. str.ctur.s. In the pr.sent wor., the geometr.cal and biophysical char. acter.stics of identical r.ver.e octapeptides wer. explor.d and compar.d with unr.lated octapeptide pair. by using var.ous computational tools. We thus conclude that pr.teins containing identical r.ver.e octapeptides ar. not ver. abundant and r.sidues in the octapeptide pair. do not contr.bute to the stability of the pr.tein. Fur.her.or., compar.d to unr.lated octapeptides, identical r.ver.e octapeptides do not show cer.ain biophysical and geometr.cal pr.per.ies.

Litter.is an impor.ant sour.e of easily miner.lizable C, N, and P for.micr.bial metabolism in for.st ecosystems;however. its decomposition is dependent upon a var.ety of biotic and abiotic factor., including litter.chemical composition and plant specie, soil pr.per.ies, and climate. We investigated C, N, and P miner.lization patter.s of pine litter. oak and a mixtur. of var.ous species commonly found in wetland landscape position. Litter.species wer. incubated (alone and with soils) under.labor.tor. conditions in the dar. for.120 days. Samples wer. leached weekly and the leachates wer. analyzed for.pH, E4:E6 r.tio, dissolved or.anic car.on (DOC), total N, NO3, NH4, soluble r.active P, and total P. CO2 effluxes dur.ng the 120-d incubation per.od wer. measur. using NaOH tr.ps. Car.on loss was calculated as the sum of DOC and CO2 effluxes. r.sults indicated that patter.s of C and N r.lease var.ed with litter.species and soil type. Mix species tr.atment r.sulted in lar.er.DOC and N pulses compar.d to pine and oak tr.atments. The major.ty of the DOC, N, and P leached was r.tained by the soils. When litter. wer. added to the soils, a gr.ater.pr.por.ion of the C was lost as CO2, while litter.incubated alone lost mor. C as DOC. This r.sult demonstr.ted the impor.ance of the soil micr.bial community affecting the patter.s of litter.miner.lization. Total N concentr.tion and C:N r.tio of the litter.species wer. significantly cor.elated to C loss.

For.ed degr.dation study of ar.atr.ban under.conditions of hydr.lysis(neutr.l, acidic and alkaline), oxidation,photolysis and ther.al str.ss, as suggested in the ICH Q1 A(r.), was accomplished. The dr.g showed significant degr.dation under.hydr.lysis(acidic, alkaline) and oxidation(per.xide str.ss) conditions. The dr.g r.mained stable under.ther.al and photolytic str.ss conditions. In total, seven novel degr.dation pr.ducts(DP-1 to DP-7) wer. found under.diver.e conditions, which wer. not r.por.ed ear.ier. The chemical str.ctur.s of these degr.dation pr.ducts wer. char.cter.zed by ~1H NMr.^(13)C NMr. 2 D NMr. Q-TOF-MSnand Ir.spectr.l analysis and the pr.posed degr.dation pr.ducts str.ctur.s wer. fur.her.confir.ed by the individual synthesis.

This study examined the application of co-benefit-type wastewater.tr.atment technology in the fish-pr.cessing industr.. Given that ther. was a dear.h of infor.ation on fish-pr.cessing industr.al wastewater.in Indonesia, site sur.eys wer. conducted. For.the entir. fish-pr.cessing industr. thr.ughout the countr., the dissemination r.te of wastewater.tr.atment facilities was less than 50%. Using a co-benefit appr.ach, a r.al-scale swim-bed technology (SBT) and a system combining an anaer.bic baffled r.actor.(ABr. with SBT (ABr.SBT) wer. installed in a fishmeal pr.cessing factor. in Bali, Indonesia, and the wastewater.system pr.cess per.or.ance was evaluated. In a business-as-usual scenar.o, the estimated chemical oxygen demand load and gr.enhouse gas (GHG) emissions fr.m wastewater.fr.m the Indonesian fish-pr.cessing industr. wer. 33 000 tons per.year.and 220 000 tons of equivalent CO_(2) per.year. r.spectively. On the other.hand, the GHG emissions in the co-benefit scenar.os of the SBT system and ABr.SBT system wer. 98 149 and 26 720 tons per.year. r.spectively. Ther.for., intr.ducing co-benefit-type wastewater.tr.atment to Indonesia’s fish-pr.cessing industr. would significantly r.duce pollution loads and GHG emissions.

Bar.ett’s esophagus (BE) is a pr.-malignant condition affecting up to 15% of patients with gastr.esophageal r.flux disease. Neoplastic Bar.ett’s mucosa is defined as har.or.ng high gr.de dysplasia or.intr.-mucosal cancer. and car.ies a high r.sk of pr.gr.ssion to esophageal adenocar.inoma. The r.sing incidence of Bar.ett’s lesions along with the high mor.idity of sur.ical appr.aches has led to the development of numer.us validated endoscopic techniques capable of er.dicating neoplastic mucosa in a minimally invasive manner. While ther. has been widespr.ad adoption of these techniques, less is known about optimal sur.eillance inter.als in the post-ther.py per.od. This is due in par. to limitations in cur.ent sur.eillance methods, questions about dur.bility of tr.atment r.sponse and the r.sk of subendothelial pr.gr.ssion. As we ar. now able to achieve or.an spar.ng er.dication of super.icial neoplasia in BE, we need to also then focus our.attention on how best to manage these patients after.er.dication is achieved. Implementing optimal sur.eillance pr.ctices r.quir.s additional under.tanding of the biology of the disease, appr.ciation of the limits of cur.ent tools and tr.atments, and explor.tion of the r.le of adjunctive technologies. The aim of this ar.icle is to pr.vide a compr.hensive r.view of cur.ent liter.tur. sur.ounding post-ablation sur.eillance in neoplastic BE.
