From existing knowledge about high-temperature cavitation mechanisms, necessary conditions were discussed for the suppression of cavitation failure during superplastic deformation in ceramic materials. The discussion, where special attention was placed on the relaxation of stress concentrations during grain-boundary sliding and cavity nucleation and growth, leaded to a conclusion that cavitation failure could be retarded by the simultaneous controlling of the initial grain size, the number of residual defects, diffusivity, dynamic grain growth and the homogeneity of microstructure. On the basis of this conclusion, high-strain-rate superplasticity （defined as superplasticity at a strain rate higher than 0.01 s^-1） could be intentionally attained in some oxide ceramic materials. This was shown in tetragonal zirconia and composites consisting of zirconia, a-alumina and a spinel phase.

Dermatomyositis associated with hepatocellular carcinoma in an elderly female patient with hepatitis C virus-related liver cirrhosis

A 79-year-old female patient with hepatitis C virusrelated liver cirrhosis was diagnosed as having hepatocellular carcinoma （HCC） with a diameter of 2.0 cm. She refused therapy for HCC. Nine months after the diagnosis, she developed dermatomyositis when the HCC enlarged to a diameter of 6.0 cm. She underwent therapy for dermatomyositis, and then transcatheter arterial chemoembolization for HCC. Although the manifestations of dermatomyositis improved and entire tumor necrosis was achieved, she died of pneumonia 2 mo after the treatment of HCC. HCC and/or chronic hepatitis C virus infection might be involved in the pathogenesis of dermatomyositis.

Constitutive activation of KIT receptor tyrosine kinase is a critical factor in the pathogenesis of gastrointestinal stromal tumors （GISTs）. But there is little information on whether combination of imatinib mesylate （IM） and surgical treatment can prolong survival in the cases with unresectable multiple liver metastases. We report a case of postoperative recurrence of GIST treated by the tyrosine kinase inhibitor IN and surgical treatment. The initial complete response （CR） to treatment continued for 18 mo, but single liver metastasis showed regrowth in the left hepatic lobe during IN treatment. After partial resection of the recurrent tumor, postoperative course was uneventful and the patient has survived without recurrence for 24 too. Currently, imatinib is the first- line therapy for non-resectable GISTs, but a single agent therapy often leads to tumor resistance. Even if tolerance to imatinib occurs, a combination of imatinib and surgical treatment can prolong survival in some cases as reported here. However, further studies on a large number of cases of recurrent GIST are necessary to evaluate the effectiveness of IN treatment combined with surgery.

Non-Fourier heat conduction study for steady states in metallic nanofilms

As a fundamental theory of heat transfer, Fourier's law is valid for most traditional conditions. Research interest in non-Fourier heat conditions is mainly focused on heat wave phenomena in non-steady states. Recently, the thermomass theory posited that, for steady states, non-Fourier heat conduction behavior could also be observed under ultra-high heat flux conditions at low ambient temperatures. Significantly, this is due to thermomass inertia. We report on heat conduction in metallic nanofilms from large currents at low temperatures; heat fluxes of more than 1×1010 W m 2 were used. The measured average temperature of the nanofilm is larger than that based on Fourier's law, with temperature differences increasing as heat flux increased and ambient temperature decreased. Experimental results for different film samples at different ambient temperatures reveal that non-Fourier behavior exists in metallic nanofilms in agreement with predictions from thermomass theory.

In microwave circuit and aerial system, impedance matching is very important. Liquid stub tuner is a new type of impedance matching device. In the HT-7 Tokamak Ion Cyclotron Resonance Heating ( ICRH ) system, we have already adopted liquid stub tuner to replace the conventional stub tuner. It is urgent to develop a control system of the liquid stub tuner. This paper mainly introduces the design and realization of the liquid stub tuner control system , and briefly introduces its three controlling functions: local control, remote control and computer control.

We propose a novel silicon optical phase shifter structure based on heterogeneous strip-loaded waveguides on a photonic silicon on insulator(SOI) platform. The features of an etchless SOI layer and loaded strip would enhance the performance and uniformity of silicon optical modulators on a large-scale wafer. We implemented the phase shifter by loading an amorphous silicon strip onto an SOI layer with a vertical PN diode structure. Compared to the conventional lateral PN phase shifter based on half-etched rib waveguides, this phase shifter shows a >1.5 times enhancement of modulation efficiency and provides >20 GHz high-speed operation.

The electrochemical conversion is closely correlated with the electrocatalytic activities of the ***,the urchin-like Ni-doped W_(18)O_(49)/NF with enriched active sites was prepared by solvothermal method followed by a low-temperature pyrolysis treatment was *** demonstrate that the incorporation of Ni-doping triggers the lattice distortion of W_(18)O_(49) for the increasement of oxygen ***,high-valent W^(6+)are partially reduced to low-valent W^(4+),wherein the electrons originate from the oxidation process of Ni^(2+)to Ni^(3+).The Ni^(3+)ions show an enhanced orbital overlap with the OER reaction *** generated W^(4+)ions contribute to release oxygen vacancies,eventually reorganizing Ni-doped W_(18)O_(49)/NF to unique electrochemical active species with a special amorphous-crystalline interface(AM/NiWO_x/NiOOH/NF).Simultaneously,the reconstruction results in an optimized valence band and conduction ***,the resultant AM/NiWO_x/NiOOH/NF with abundant active sites and improved oxidation/reduction capability exhibits more superior catalytic performance compared with the Ni-doped W_(18)O_(49)/NF *** study gives more insights in the electrochemical evolution of the tungsten-based oxide and provides effective strategies for optimizing the catalytic activity of materials with inherent hydrogen evolution reaction limitations.

Based on the design of the fluorescent site of a fluorescent probe,we have created a unique system that changes its twisting response to *** probes were synthesized,in which phenylboronic acid and two kinds of aromatic fluorescent site(pyrene or anthracene)were conjugated by an amide *** the fluorescence measurement of pyrene-type probe 1,dimer fluorescence was observed at high *** induced circular dichroism(ICD)experiments,a response was observed only in the presence of glucose and γ-cyclodextrin,and no response was seen with *** the other hand,in the fluorescence measurement of anthracene-type probe 2,dimer fluorescence was observed in the presence of both glucose and galactose,and the fluorescence was different from the case of *** the ICD spectra of these inclusion complexes were measured,an inversion of the Cotton effect,which indicates a change in the twisted structure,was observed in galactose and *** differences in response to monosaccharides may originate in the interaction between the fluorescent site and the cyclodextrin cavity.

青蒿琥酯具有干预脑胶质瘤的潜能,但其药理作用机制尚不明确。本研究首先基于U87和U251两种人源脑胶质瘤细胞,探究青蒿琥酯对细胞活性、增殖和凋亡的影响,发现青蒿琥酯对U87细胞活性和增殖能力的抑制作用强于对U251细胞;Hoechst和TUNEL细胞凋亡染色实验也发现,青蒿琥酯可以显著促进U87细胞的凋亡(P <0.05),而仅大剂量的青蒿琥酯可促进U251细胞的凋亡(P <0.01)。接着,利用青蒿琥酯处理前后的U87和U251细胞裂解液,通过转录组测序检测和差异数据分析,分别获得青蒿琥酯敏感性和非敏感性细胞株的差异基因集以及青蒿琥酯效应相关基因集,旨在挖掘青蒿琥酯对两类细胞敏感性不一的分子机制。通过构建上述各对比组差异基因互作网络和计算网络拓扑特征值,筛选药效相关的关键网络靶标;生物功能富集分析结果表明,上述关键网络靶标显著富集于多条与脑胶质瘤病理环节相关的信号通路,其中,与细胞凋亡相关的转录激活因子4 (ATF4)-DNA损伤诱导转录因子3 (DDIT3)-聚腺苷二磷酸核糖聚合酶1 (PARP1)信号轴的富集显著性最高。分子对接结果也表明,青蒿琥酯与ATF4和DDIT3均具有较好的结合能力。本研究初步揭示了青蒿琥酯干预U87脑胶质瘤细胞的潜能与其抑制肿瘤细胞内异常活化的ATF4-DDIT3-PARP1信号轴,进而诱导细胞凋亡有关;同时也表明了PARP1可能是U251细胞对青蒿琥酯产生耐药的重要靶标。相关结果为青蒿琥酯治疗脑胶质瘤,以及解决脑胶质瘤治疗药物耐药的现状提供了新的实验依据。
