In this study, Ge（1-x）Snx alloy films are co-sputtered on Si（100） substrates using RF magnetron sputtering at different substrate temperatures. Scanning electron micrographs, atomic force microscopy（AFM）, Raman spectroscopy, and x-ray photoemission spectroscopy（XPS） are conducted to investigate the effect of substrate temperature on the structural and optical properties of grown Ge Sn alloy films. AFM results show that RMS surface roughness of the films increases from 1.02 to 2.30 nm when raising the substrate temperature. This increase could be due to Sn surface segregation that occurs when raising the substrate temperature. Raman spectra exhibits the lowest FWHM value and highest phonon intensity for a film sputtered at 140℃. The spectra show that decreasing the deposition temperature to 140℃ improves the crystalline quality of the alloy films and increases nanocrystalline phase formation. The results of Raman spectra and XPS confirm Ge–Sn bond formation. The optoelectronic characteristics of fabricated metal-semiconductor-metal photodetectors on sputtered samples at room temperature（RT） and 140℃ are studied in the dark and under illumination. The sample sputtered at 140℃ performs better than the RT sputtered sample.

The third-order nonlinear partial differential equation modelling the unsteady boundary-layer flows caused by an impulsively stretching fiat plate is solved by using the Adomian decomposition method （ADM）. The ADM yields analytic solution in the form of a rapidly convergent infinite series with easily computable terms. The series solution using the ADM for the unsteady flows is presented for the first time.

The buoyant Marangoni convection heat transfer in a differentially heated cavity is numerically studied. The cavity is filled with water-Ag, water-Cu, water-Al2O3, and water-TiO2 nanofiuids. The governing equations are based on the equations involving the stream function, vorticity, and temperature. The dimensionless forms of the governing equations are solved by the finite difference （FD） scheme consisting of the alternating direction implicit （ADI） method and the tri-diagonal matrix algorithm （TDMA）. It is found that the increase in the nanoparticle concentration leads to the decrease in the flow rates in the secondary cells when the convective thermocapillary and the buoyancy force have similar strength. A critical Marangoni number exists, below which increasing the Marangoni number decreases the average Nusselt number, and above which increasing the Marangoni number increases the average Nusselt number. The nanoparticles play a crucial role in the critical Marangoni number.

The current investigation highlights the mixed convection slip flow and radiative heat transport of uniformly electrically conducting Williamson nanofluid yield by an inclined circular cylinder in the presence of Brownian motion and thermophoresis parameter.A Lorentzian magnetic body force model is employed and magnetic induction effects are *** governing equations are reduced to a system of nonlinear ordinary differential equations with associated boundary conditions by applying scaling group *** reduced nonlinear ordinary differential equations are then solved numerically by Runge-Kutta-Fehlberg fifth-order method with shooting *** effects of magnetic field,Prandtl number,mixed convection parameter,buoyancy ratio parameter,Brownian motion parameter,thermophoresis parameter,heat generation/absorption parameter,mass transfer parameter,radiation parameter and Schmidt number on the skin friction coefficient and local Nusselt are analyzed and *** is found that the velocity of the fluid decreases with decrease in curvature parameter,whereas it increases with mixed convection ***,the local Nusselt number decreases with an increase in the radiation *** numerical comparison is also presented with the existing published results and found that the present results are in excellent agreement which also confirms the validity of the present methodology.

The classical iterative methods for finding roots of nonlinear equations,like the Newton method,Halley method,and Chebyshev method,have been modified previously to achieve optimal convergence ***,the Householder method has so far not been modified to become *** this study,we shall develop two new optimal Newton-Householder methods without *** key idea in the development of the new methods is the avoidance of the need to evaluate the second *** methods fulfill the Kung-Traub conjecture by achieving optimal convergence order four with three functional evaluations and order eight with four functional *** efficiency indices of the methods show that methods perform better than the classical Householder’s *** the aid of convergence analysis and numerical analysis,the efficiency of the schemes formulated in this paper has been *** dynamical analysis exhibits the stability of the schemes in solving nonlinear *** comparisons with other optimal methods have been conducted to verify the effectiveness,convergence speed,and capability of the suggested methods.

It has often been reported that, when building structures are subjected to near-fault earthquake ground motions, horizontal and vertical impulsive inputs may cause critical damage during the first few seconds. In practical design of building structures, however, the safety check, taking into account the effect of multi-component ground motions, is hardly conducted except the design of important structures such as high-rise buildings and nuclear power plants. Ftirthel＇more, it is not clear how the correlation of multi-component ground motions influences the actual safety of structures. In this paper, the detailed property of critical excitation is discussed in association with the relationship between the characteristics of ground motions and those of structures. The properties of various auto power spectral density （PSD） functions of the horizontal and vertical ground motions are investigated, and those of the critical cross PSD function of these two-directional ground motions are found by a devised algorithm in a feasible complex plane. A closed-form expression is derived from the critical relation of the auto PSD functions of the simultaneous inputs. This critical excitation method provides us with a new approach for earthquake-resistant design against the possible future earthquake which causes the critical damages to buildings.

Background:Hepatocellular carcinoma(HCC)has a high incidence and mortality that epitomizes one of the prominent causes of cancer-related death *** therapeutic approaches are therefore *** oxygen species(ROS)are necessary for maintaining cell *** ROS is involved in HCC progression,hydrogen peroxide(H2O2)has anti-proliferative effect on ***:HCC Huh-7 cells were cultured and incubated with various concentrations of *** activity,levels of malondialdehyde,glutathione and protein oxidation were measured in treated and untreated Huh-7 ***,untreated and treated Huh-7 cells were subjected to two dimensional gel electrophoresis and identified protein spots which were differentially expressed by LC-MS/MS analysis.q RT-PCR was performed to validate the identified ***:H2O2 depleted glutathione(GSH)with the concomitant up-regulation of GSTP1 and Prx2.H2O2 also increased malondialdehyde and protein oxidation,decreased the activity of paraoxonase in Huh-7 ***:H2O2 could be used as a novel therapeutic agent that might be beneficial in inducing cell cytotoxicity and hence suppress HCC proliferation.
