Effects of elafibranor on liver fibrosis and gut barrier function in a mouse model of alcohol-associated liver disease

High mobility group box 1 in the central nervous system:regeneration hidden beneath inflammation

High-mobility group box 1 was first discovered in the calf thymus as a DNA-binding nuclear protein and has been widely studied in diverse fields,including neurology and ***-mobility group box 1 in the extracellular space functions as a pro-inflammatory damage-associated molecular pattern,which has been proven to play an important role in a wide variety of central nervous system disorders such as ischemic stroke,Alzheimer’s disease,frontotemporal dementia,Parkinson’s disease,multiple sclerosis,epilepsy,and traumatic brain *** drugs that inhibit high-mobility group box 1 as a damage-associated molecular pattern,such as glycyrrhizin,ethyl pyruvate,and neutralizing anti-high-mobility group box 1 antibodies,are commonly used to target high-mobility group box 1 activity in central nervous system *** it is commonly known for its detrimental inflammatory effect,high-mobility group box 1 has also been shown to have beneficial pro-regenerative roles in central nervous system *** this narrative review,we provide a brief summary of the history of high-mobility group box 1 research and its characterization as a damage-associated molecular pattern,its downstream receptors,and intracellular signaling pathways,how high-mobility group box 1 exerts the repair-favoring roles in general and in the central nervous system,and clues on how to differentiate the pro-regenerative from the pro-inflammatory *** targeting high-mobility group box 1 in the central nervous system may benefit from differentiating between the two functions rather than overall suppression of high-mobility group box 1.

发展学生21世纪能力已成为国际社会应对全球快速发展的教育共识。运用文献研究、文本分析及访谈等方法,明晰了新加坡学生21世纪能力的基本内涵,在厘清21世纪能力与体育课程价值互构的基础上,对新加坡体育课程标准的设计思路与基本特点进行了探讨。研究发现:新加坡基于全球变革与国家需要提出了聚焦21世纪能力培养的总体教育目标,并将体育课程作为实现此目标的重要手段,其构建了“四位一体”的发展框架,形成了覆盖全学段的一体化体育课程体系。从理念、思路、内容与评价维度呈现出整体塑造、融合发展、多维延展、系统嵌入的特点。对我国在完善面向世界与未来的学科核心素养体系、加强课程目标与学科核心素养的紧密衔接、构建学业质量标准指引下的学习评价系统、提升整体课程观视野下体育课程实施质量方面具有启示意义。

Assessing the thermal stability of toolmarks casting materials through optical comparison microscopy,virtual comparison microscopy and quantitative similarity scores

Toolmarks,particularly those found on bulky,inaccessible or immovable items,can be recovered by *** allow for subsequent comparative examinations,the casting material,typically polysiloxanes or silicones,must be able to capture and preserve fine details within a toolmark *** study the stability of such details after exposure to heat,toolmark casts were heated at either 60°C for 2 h,or 90°C for 1 *** casts were subsequently compared to casts that had not been exposed to heat,using traditional optical comparison microscopy,as well as virtual comparison *** toolmark signatures were also extracted from the casts and compared pairwise to obtain quantitative similarity scores based on cross-correlation,consecutive matching striae and Mann-Whitney *** results show that the fine surface details captured on all four commercial toolmark casting materials tested herein remained stable after exposure to *** study shows that the above heating protocols are viable viral inactivation methods for toolmark casts that are potentially contaminated with human coronaviruses,such as *** findings also apply to other scenarios,such as for casts that were left in a vehicle parked under the sun.

introduction: Pregnancy as much as childbirth constitutes a risky situation, potentially fraught with sometimes dramatic complications: maternal death. Objective: We conducted this study with the aim of establishing the profile of those giving birth in our context with the aim to anticipate operationally in the future on morbidity but more on maternal deaths. Methodology: We conducted, using a structured questionnaire, a prospective descriptive study in representative maternity wards in the city of Douala;the study variables were socio-economic, anthropometric, obstetrical and clinical. Statistical analyses were carried out with CS Pro 7.3 and SPSS version 25.0 software. The Student, Chi-square and Fischer tests were used to compare the means of the variables and the percentages. Results: We recruited 305 births for our study. The average age of our births was 28.7 years ± 6.1 with an average height of 161.6 cm ± 5.06;an average body mass index at the start of pregnancy of 28.0 kilograms/square meter and 31.3 kilograms/square meter at delivery;the average weight gain was 8.4 g ± 5.37;an average gestation of 2.84±1.90;an average parity of 2.2 ± 2.1 with an average birth interval of 27.7 months ± 23.7. The average gestational age was 39.2 weeks ± 1.21 with pregnancy pathology dominated by malaria;85.9% began their prenatal follow-up before the 14th week of amenorrhea. Conclusion: The profile of childbirth in urban Cameroon does not seem potentially dystocic compared to that of the same regional and racial area.

Gradient Si-and Ti-doped Fe_(2)O_(3) hierarchical homojunction photoanode for efficient solar water splitting:Effect of facile microwave-assisted growth of Si-FeOOH on Ti-FeOOH nanocorals

The construction of a homojunction is an effective approach for addressing issues such as slow charge separation and charge-transfer kinetics in *** the present work,we designed a gradient Si-and Ti-doped Fe_(2)O_(3) homojunction photoanode to improve the photoelectrochemical(PEC)performance of a Ti-doped Fe_(2)O_(3) ***-FeOOH nanocorals were synthesized using a hydrothermal process,and Si-FeOOH was grown on Ti-FeOOH nanocorals using a rapid and facile microwaveassisted(MW)*** varying the MW irradiation time,the thickness of the Si/Ti:Fe_(2)O_(3) photoanode was adjusted and an optimized 3-Si/Ti:Fe_(2)O_(3) photoelectrode was achieved with a significantly enhanced photocurrent density(1.37 mA cm^(-2) at 1.23 V ***)and a cathodic shift of the onset potential(150 mV)compared with that of bare Ti-Fe_(2)O_(3).This enhanced PEC performance can be ascribed to homojunction formation and Si gradient *** Si dopant increased the donor concentration and the formation of a homojunction improved the intrinsic built-in electric field,thereby promoting charge separation and charge ***,the as-formed homojunction passivated the surfacetrapping states,consequently improving the charge transfer efficiency(60%at 1.23 VRHE)at the photoanode/electrolyte *** findings could pave the way for the microwave-assisted fabrication of diverse efficient homojunction photoanodes for PEC water splitting applications.
