Objective: The aim of the work described here was to evaluate the role of contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) in response evaluation for unresectable advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) treated with ty.osine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) plus anti-programmed cell death protein-1 (PD-1) antibody.therapy. Methods: A prospective cohort of consecutive patients with HCC who received combined TKI/anti-PD-1 antibody.treatment for unresectable HCC between January.2022 and October 2022 was included in this study. The patients underwent unenhanced ultrasound (US) and CEUS examinations before treatment and at follow-up. Changes in the largest diameters of the target tumor on unenhanced US and the largest diameters of the enhancing target tumors on CEUS were evaluated. Response Evaluation Criteria in Solid Tumors (RECIST) version 1.1 with unenhanced US and magnetic resonance imaging/computed tomography.(MRI/CT) and modified RECIST (mRECIST) with CEUS and CEMRI/CT were used to assess treatment response. Results: A total of 24 HCC patients (23 men and 1 woman; mean age: 56.5 ± 8.5 y. Barcelona Clinic Liver Cancer stage C, 62.5%; 29 intrahepatic target tumors) were studied. Calculations of degree of necrosis in the target tumors revealed no significant differences between CEUS and CEMRI/CT (44.5 ± 36.2% vs. 45.3 ± 36.8%, p = 0.862). As for the differentiation of responders from non-responders, the agreement between RECIST version 1.1 of unenhanced US and mRECIST-CEUS was poor (κ coefficient = 0.233). Meanwhile, there was a high degree of concordance between mRECIST-CEUS and mRECIST-CEMRI/CT (κ coefficient = 0.812). Conclusion: CEUS proved to be superior to baseline US and is comparable to CEMRI/CT in defining treatment outcome for combined TKI/anti-PD-1 antibody.therapy. © 2023 World Federation for Ultrasound in Medicine & Biology

Background:Combined knee valgus and tibial internal rotation(VL+IR)moments have been shown to stress the anterior cruciate ligament(ACL)in several in vitro cadaveric *** utilize this knowledge for non-contact ACL injury.prevention in sports,it is necessary.to elucidate how the ground reaction force(GRF)acting point(center of pressure(CoP))in the stance foot produces combined knee VL+IR moments in risky.maneuvers,such as ***,the effects of the GRF acting point on the development of the combined knee VL+IR moment in cutting are still ***:We first established the deterministic mechanical condition that the CoP position relative to the tibial rotational axis differentiates the GRF vector’s directional probability.for developing the combined knee VL+IR moment,and theoretically.predicted that when the CoP is posterior to the tibial rotational axis,the GRF vector is more likely.to produce the combined knee VL+IR moment than when the CoP is anterior to the tibial rotational ***,we tested a stochastic aspect of our theory.in a lab-controlled in vivo *** females performed 60˚cutting under forefoot/rearfoot strike conditions(10 trials each).The positions of lower limb markers and GRF data were measured,and the knee moment due to GRF vector was *** trials were divided into anterior-and posterior-CoP groups depending on the CoP position relative to the tibial rotational axis at each 10 ms interval from 0 to 100 ms after foot strike,and the occurrence rate of the combined knee VL+IR moment was compared between trial ***:The posterior-CoP group showed significantly.higher occurrence rates of the combined knee VL+IR moment(maximum of 82.8%)at every.time point than those of the anterior-CoP trials,as theoretically.predicted by.the deterministic mechanical ***:The rearfoot strikes inducing the posterior CoP should be avoided to reduce the risk of non-contact ACL injury.associated with the com

Human fallopian tubes (FTs) play.important roles in the whole reproductive process. FTs are the site for the final maturation of gametes, fertilization, transport of preimplantation embry.s, and early.embry.nic development before entering the uterus. All these functions are critical in the establishment of a successful pregnancy. When the embry. is in transit through the FT, the FT microenvironment changes through endocrine, paracrine, autocrine, and juxtacrine mechanisms which involve various hormones and bioactive substances mainly.from the neighboring cells. Therefore, the interactions between the embry. and the FT may.be the earliest embry.-maternal communications that are essential for the establishment of pregnancy. This review critically.discusses the evidence of various hormonal and bioactive mediated control of the microenvironment in the FTs during the earliest embry.-maternal communications. Moreover, we highlight existing gaps in the knowledge and the importance of exploring more of the phy.iology.of FTs which will hold the key.to producing high-quality.embry.s for patients seekingin vitro fertilization (IVF) treatments.

Spatial correlation effect and influencing factors of provincial carbon emission performance in China

At the completion of the "1+N" policy.sy.tem for the "dual-carbon" target, improving carbon performance is a key.to promoting balance between the environment and the economy.and facilitating sy.ergistic regional sustainability. However, the existing studies mainly.focus on the measurement of carbon emission performance, influencing factors and traditional spatial scales, lacking exploration of the spatial correlation strength, network characteristics, and network conditions of various provinces and regions of carbon emission performance, and rarely.examining the influencing factors of spatial network relationships from the perspective of spatial networks. Therefore, this article used the super-efficient SBM model to calculate the carbon emission performance of 30 provinces in China from 2005 to 2022. The structural characteristics of the network, transmission paths of interrelationships, network effects, and influencing factors were analy.ed using the modified gravity.model and social network analy.is. The results are as follows: ① China' s carbon emission performance increased significantly. the spatial correlation network characteristics were obvious, manifested as a dense in the east and sparse in the west pattern with the " Beijing—Shanghai" double core actors as the center, and gradually.formed a complex and compact network distribution form. ② The number of relationships within each sector of the network is significantly.lower than between sectors, and the direct connection and correlation between the " net spillover" and "net beneficial" sectors were strengthened. The influence of the "bidirectional spillover" and "broker" sectors has been gradually.weakening. ③ The overall and individual structural characteristics of the correlation network significantly.affect carbon emission performance. In 2019, the newly.revised Drug Administration Law of the People′s Republic of China was issued and implemented, clearly.proposing that China should establish a pharmacovigilance sy.tem. As a new traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) dosage form created in China, TCM injections have been widely.used in clinic, and its pharmacovigilance has attracted much attention. In response to this situation, the project team convened a group of clinical, pharmaceutical and evidence-based medicine experts from all over the country.to form an expert group, which formulated the Pharmacovigilance guidelines for clinical application of traditional Chinese medicine injections in strict accordance with the requirements of the group standards of the Chinese Association of Chinese Medicine. From the perspective of clinical application and considering the key.elements of pharmacovigilance for clinical application of TCM injections, the guidelines put forward suggestions on the decision making of pharmacovigilance for clinical application of TCM injections from four key.links, namely.the monitoring and reporting, signal recognition, risk assessment and risk control, according to China′s pharmacovigilance regulations and learning from foreign pharmacovigilance guidelines. © 2024 Zhongguo Zhongy. y.njiuy.an.
