Several abiotic and biotic factors were investigated as possible predictors of local species richness in two sub-alpine grasslands of Jenna and Belles Mountains in Northern *** species richness modelling a hierarchical modelling framework based on generalized additive models was *** two sub-alpine grasslands differed in aspect,altitude and soil parent material(volcanic origin,mostly trachyte,and andesite(TA) for Jenna and metamorphic rocks,mostly gneiss(G) for Belles).12 fenced squared plots,16 m2 each,were used per grassland,where soil properties,herbage production,species presence and cover of grasses,legumes and forbs were *** herbage production was significantly affected by slope and altitude,soil K content and floristic composition as expressed by an ordination *** p H,floristic composition and average herbage production were significant predictors of forbs and total species *** the former,soil N content and for the latter the occurrence of Agrostis capillaris,were also included as significant terms in the predictive *** for grasses species richness were N content,having a positive effect,and average herbage *** all cases higher species richness was predicted for intermediate values of average herbage *** responses were found between forbs and *** predictors of their species richness were different while for the case of the common predictor(N) the responses of the two groups were also different(grasses species numbers increase and forbs species numbers decreased with increasing N).Maximum species richness of grasses was observed at relatively low production levels while forbs species richness maximized at relatively high production levels.

＜正＞During the past 40 years,world textile trade has been in large part governed by the Multifiber Arrangement （MFA）and its predecessor *** Japan and neighboring developing countries began increasing their capacity to export textiles and apparel to the United States in Europe during the 1950 s,a series of bilateral and multilateral agreements were developed to control imports from developing *** in 2005,these restrictions must end,in accordance with World Trade Organization （WTO） obligations,and the import restrictions developing countries imposed must largely end as *** paper examines the impact of these trade policy changes on the textile,apparel,and cotton industries of China and the rest of the world.A dynamic computable general equilibrium （CGE） model finds that trade reform improves welfare for China and for virtually every other region of the world,causes world textile,apparel,and cotton prices and production decline,while production rises in each case in China.

The increased use of ionization radiation for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes, the rapid advances in computed tomography as well as the high radiation doses delivered by interventional procedures have raised serious safety and health concerns for both patients and medical staff and have necessitated the establishment of a radiation protection culture(RPC) in every Radiology Department. RPC is a newly introduced concept. The term culture describes the combination of attitudes, beliefs, practices and rules among the professionals, staff and patients regarding to radiation protection. Most of the time, the challenge is to improve rather than to build a RPC. The establishment of a RPC requires continuing education of the staff and professional, effective communication among stakeholders of all levels and implementation of quality assurance programs. The RPC creation is being driven from the highest level. Leadership, professionals and associate societies are recognized to play a vital role in the embedding and promotion of RPC in a Medical Unit. The establishment of a RPC enables the reduction of the radiation dose, enhances radiation risk awareness, minimizes unsafe practices, and improves the quality of a radiation protection program. The purpose of this review paper is to describe the role and highlight the importance of establishing a strong RPC in Radiology Departments with an emphasis on promoting RPC in the Interventional Radiology environment.

Hypothetical Commercialization of Biotech Soybeans in China： Impacts on Domestic Markets and International Trade

China is the leading importer of soybeans in the world. If China adopts high yield biotech soybean varieties, China’s soybean production would increase significantly and this would impact global soybean markets. This paper assesses the possible effects of adoption of herbicide-tolerant, biotech soybeans in China and its impact on the world soybean trade. Results indicate that under a low technology fee and high adoption rate, China would be able to satisfy its soybean food demand. Urban consumers’ strong preference for non-biotech soybean oil may lead to increase in imports of non-biotech soybeans.
