A new beam asymmetry measurement from pion photoproduction on the neutron using CLAS

We present a preliminary analysis of the photon beam asymmetry observable （Z） from the pho- toproduction reaction channel γn → pπ in the invariant mass range 1.6--2.3 GeV. The measurement was obtained using the near-4π CEBAF Large Acceptance Spectrometer （CLAS） at Jefferson Laboratory, USA, employing a linearly polarised photon beam with an energy range 1.1 2.3 GeV, incident on a liquid deuterium target. The measurement will provide new data to address the poorly established neutron excitation spectrum and will greatly expand the sparse world data-set both in energy and angle.

We propose a hierarchy of novel absorbing boundary conditions for the onedimensional stationary Schr¨odinger equation with general(linear and nonlinear)*** accuracy of the new absorbing boundary conditions is investigated numerically for the computation of energies and ground-states for linear and nonlinear Schr¨odinger *** turns out that these absorbing boundary conditions and their variants lead to a higher accuracy than the usual Dirichlet boundary ***,we give the extension of these ABCs to N-dimensional stationary Schr¨odinger equations.

The objective of the study was to analyse Streptococcus mutans biofilms grown under different dietary conditions by using multifaceted methodological approaches to gain deeper insight into the cariogenic impact of carbohydrates. S. mutans biofilms were generated during a period of 24 h in the following media： Schaedler broth as a control medium containing endogenous glucose, Schaedler broth with an additional 5% sucrose, and Schaedler broth supplemented with 1% xylitol. The confocal laser scanning microscopy（CLSM）-based analyses of the microbial vitality, respiratory activity（5-cyano-2,3-ditolyl tetrazolium chloride, CTC） and production of extracellular polysaccharides（EPS） were performed separately in the inner, middle and outer biofilm layers. In addition to the microbiological sample testing, the glucose/sucrose consumption of the biofilm bacteria was quantified, and the expression of glucosyltransferases and other biofilm-associated genes was investigated. Xylitol exposure did not inhibit the viability of S. mutans biofilms, as monitored by the following experimental parameters： culture growth, vitality, CTC activity and EPS production. However,xylitol exposure caused a difference in gene expression compared to the control. Gtf C was upregulated only in the presence of *** xylitol exposure, gtf B was upregulated by a factor of 6, while under sucrose exposure, it was upregulated by a factor of *** with glucose and xylitol, sucrose increased cell vitality in all biofilm layers. In all nutrient media, the intrinsic glucose was almost completely consumed by the cells of the S. mutans biofilm within 24 h. After 24 h of biofilm formation, the multiparametric measurements showed that xylitol in the presence of glucose caused predominantly genotypic differences but did not induce metabolic differences compared to the control. This paper presents a comprehensive experimental study on the effect of extreme waves on a LNG *** LNG carrier model was equipped with a variety of sensors to measure motions,green water height on deck as well as local and global *** in transient wave packets provided the general performance in waves in terms of response amplitude operators and were accompanied by tests in regular waves with two different wave *** tests allowed detailed insights into the nonlinear behavior of the vertical wave bending moment in steep waves showing that green water on deck can contribute to a decrease of vertical wave bending ***,systematic model tests in irregular waves were performed to provide the basis for statistical *** is shown that the generalized extreme value distribution model is suitable for the estimation of the extreme peak values of motions and ***,model tests in tailored extreme wave sequences were conducted comparing the results with the statistical *** this purpose,analytical breather solutions of the nonlinear Schrödinger equation were applied to generate tailored extreme waves of certain critical wave lengths in terms of ship *** these design extreme waves,the LGN carrier was also investigated in the model scale reproduction of the real-world Draupner *** comparing the motions,vertical wave bending moment,green water column and slamming pressures it is concluded that the breather solutions are a powerful and efficient tool for the generation of design extreme waves of certain critical wave lengths for wave/structure investigations on different subjects.

In recent years,addressing ill-posed problems by leveraging prior knowledge contained in databases on learning techniques has gained much *** this paper,we focus on complete three-dimensional(3D)point cloud reconstruction based on a single red-green-blue(RGB)image,a task that cannot be approached using classical reconstruction *** this purpose,we used an encoder-decoder framework to encode the RGB information in latent space,and to predict the 3D structure of the considered object from different *** individual predictions are combined to yield a common representation that is used in a module combining camera pose estimation and rendering,thereby achieving differentiability with respect to imaging process and the camera pose,and optimization of the two-dimensional prediction error of novel ***,our method allows end-to-end training and does not require supervision based on additional ground-truth(GT)mask annotations or ground-truth camera pose *** evaluation of synthetic and real-world data demonstrates the robustness of our approach to appearance changes and self-occlusions,through outperformance of current state-of-the-art methods in terms of accuracy,density,and model completeness.

This paper presents a novel mixed reality based navigation system for accurate respiratory liver tumor punctures in radiofrequency ablation(RFA).Our system contains an optical see-through head-mounted display device(OST-HMD),Microsoft Holo Lens for perfectly overlaying the virtual information on the patient,and a optical tracking system NDI Polaris for calibrating the surgical utilities in the surgical *** with traditional navigation method with CT,our system aligns the virtual guidance information and real patient and real-timely updates the view of virtual guidance via a position tracking *** addition,to alleviate the difficulty during needle placement induced by respiratory motion,we reconstruct the patientspecific respiratory liver motion through statistical motion model to assist doctors precisely puncture liver *** proposed system has been experimentally validated on vivo pigs with an accurate real-time registration approximately 5-mm mean FRE and TRE,which has the potential to be applied in clinical RFA guidance.
