Grayscale structured surfaces with nanometer-scale features are used in a growing number of applications in optics and *** scanning probe lithography achieves a lateral resolution below 10 nm and a vertical resolution below 1 nm,but its maximum depth in polymers is ***,we present an innovative combination of nanowriting in thermal resist and plasma dry etching with substrate cooling,which achieves up to 10-fold amplification of polymer nanopatterns into siO_(2) without proportionally increasing surface *** nanopatterns in siO_(2) with 400 nm pitch and 150 nm depth are fabricated free of shape distortion after dry *** exemplify the possible applications of the proposed method,grayscale dielectric nanostructures are used for scalable manufacturing through nanoimprint lithography and for strain nanoengineering of 2D *** a method for aspect ratio amplification and smooth grayscale nanopatterning has the potential to find application in the fabrication of photonic and nanoelectronic devices.

Relation of the IGF/IGF1R system to autophagy in colitis and colorectal cancer

Metabolic syndrome(Met s), as a chronic inflammatory disorder has a potential role in the development of inflammatory and cancerous complications of the colonic tissue. The interaction of DNA damage and inflammation is affected by the insulin-like growth factor 1 receptor(IGF1 R) signaling pathway. The IGF1 R pathway has been reported to regulate autophagy, as well, but sometimes through a bidirectional context. Targeting the IGF1 R-autophagy crosstalk could represent a promising strategy for the development of new antiinflammatory and anticancer therapies, and may help for subjects suffering from Met s who are at increased risk of colorectal cancer. However, therapeutic responses to targeted therapies are often shortlived, since a signaling crosstalk of IGF1 R with other receptor tyrosine kinases or autophagy exists, leading to acquired cellular resistance to therapy. From a pharmacological point of view, it is attractive to speculate that synergistic benefits could be achieved by inhibition of one of the key effectors of the IGF1 R pathway, in parallel with the pharmacological stimulation of the autophagy machinery, but cautiousness is also required, because pharmacologic IGF1 R modulation can initiate additional, sometimes unfavorable biologic effects.

Prognostic value of pre-treatment F-18-FDG PET-CT in patients with hepatocellular carcinoma undergoing radioembolization

AIM To evaluate the value of pre-treatment 18F-FDG PET/CT in patients with HCC following liver *** We identified 34 patients with HCC who underwent an FDG PET/CT scan prior to hepatic radioembolization at our institution between 2009 and 2013. Patients wereseen in clinic one month after radioembolization and then at 2-3 mo intervals. We assessed the influence of FDG tumor uptake on outcomes including local liver control(LLC), distant liver control(DLC), time to distant metastases(DM), progression free survival(PFs) and overall survival(Os).REsULTs The majority of patients were males(n = 25, 74%), and had Child Pugh Class A(n = 31, 91%), with a median age of 68 years(46-84 years). FDG-avid disease was found in 19(56%) patients with sUVmax ranging from 3 to 20. Female patients were more likely to have an FDG-avid HCC(P = 0.02). Median follow up of patients following radioembolization was 12 months(1.2-62.8 mo). FDG-avid disease was associated with a decreased 1 year LLC, DLC, DM and PFs(P sing multivariate analysis, FDG avidity predicted for LLC, DLC, and PFs(all P sION In this retrospective study, pre-treatment HCC FDGavidity was found to be associated with worse LLC, DLC, and PFs following radioembolization. Larger studies are needed to validate our initial findings to assess the role of F-18-FDG PET/CT scans as biomarker for patients with HCC following radioembolization.

马尔库什的(现代)文化哲学的一个核心观点是启蒙计划以深层的、明显不可解决的悖论(antinomies)而告终。但是,与大多数"后现代"思想家不同,马尔库什认为启蒙的承诺不能也不应该被放弃。这种张力存在于启蒙的失败与不能放弃启蒙的承诺之间,一方面启蒙想要创建自由的社会和平等的人,使每个人都能借助于理性高雅文化资源自律地生活,然而失败了;另一方面完全抛弃启蒙的承诺又是不可能的、不理想的,我们可以在马尔库什的"晚期现代性的悖论"中找到这种表述。本文对于马尔库什的概念进行了一种解释;认为马尔库什运用的"悖论"一词具有某种歧义性(在三种不同意义上的"矛盾对立"、"价值冲突"和"概念的非连贯性"之间来回摆动),同时指出马尔库什的追求与前两种意义一致,但是与第三种意义不一致,因此,第三种意义应该被抛弃。

During the coronavirus disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic,the Japanese government implemented several infection control measures,such as states of emergency(soE)and school closures,and encouraged universal masking and hand *** activity restrictions and improved hygiene were found to be associated with declines in the incidence of infuenza during the 2019–2020 winter season[1].Prior studies have found that the incidence of seven pediatric infections,such as pharyngoconjunctivitis and varicella,decreased during and after the school closures in Japan[2].As activity restrictions continue to be lifted,there is growing concern that pediatric infections may suddenly return given that the pool of susceptible children increased during the pandemic[3].In this study,we use national infectious disease sentinel data from January 2012 to October 2021 to assess changes in the reported number of pediatric infections in Japan during the COVID-19 *** hypothesize that the reporting of many infectious diseases decreased during the early stages of the pandemic but ultimately returned to normal when activity restrictions were lifted.

High-quality and large-scale growth of monolayer molybdenum disulfide(Mos2)has caught intensive attention because of its potential in many applications due to unique electronic ***,we report the wafer-scale growth of high-quality mono layer Mos2 on singlecrystalline sapphire and also on siO2 substrates by a facile metal-organic chemical vapor deposit!on(MOCVD)*** to growth,an aqueous solution of sodium molybdate(Na2MoO4)is spun onto the substrates as the molybdenum precursor and diethyl sulfide((C2H5)2s)is used as the sulfur precursor duri ng the *** grown Mos2 films exhibit crystal I i nity,good electrical performa nee(electro n mobility of 22 cm2·V^-1·s^-1)and structural continuity maintained over the entire *** sapphire substrates are reusable for subsequent *** same method is applied for the synthesis of tungsten disulfide(Ws2).Our work provides a facile,reproducible and cost-efficient method for the scalable fabricati on of high-quality mono layer Mos2 for versatile applicati ons,such as electro nic and optoelectr onic devices as well as the membranes for desalination and power generation.
