Very Low, Real-Time Rate of Urinary Retention after Intradetrusor Botox<sup>&reg</sup>for Non-Neurogenic Overactive Bladder

Introduction: According to the most recent AUA/SUFU guidelines, intradetrusor onabotulinumtoxinA (BTN/A) is a standard, evidence strength grade B, third line treatment option for refractory non-neurogenic overactive bladder (OAB). Urinary retention is the most common clinically significant reported side effect ranging from 5.4% to 43% in previous studies. The aim of this study was to investigate the real-time rate of urinary retention in patients treated with BTN/A for refractory non-neurogenic OAB in a multi-institutional study. Methods: Retrospective chart review identified 71 patients who were treated with 100U BTN/A for refractory non-neurogenic OAB from August 2011 to July 2015 at two institutions. Using a flexible cystoscope, 100U Botox® reconstituted with 10 ml normal saline was administered. Injections of 1 ml (10 units/ mL) were administered in 10 evenly distributed sites sparing the trigone. Pre and post BTN/A post-void residuals (PVR) were reviewed. Urinary retention was defined as PVR > 200 mL requiring clean intermittent catheterization (CIC). Results: After exclusion, the study group consisted of 66 patients with a mean age of 67 years and 30% were men. Mean pre and post-procedural PVR were 14.06 mL and 69.21 mL. Eight patients (12.12%) were noted to have elevated PVR > 200 mL post injection however only one patient (female) required initiation of CIC. The rate of urinary retention was 1.5% (N = 1). There was no correlation with age, history of previous radiation, diabetes or prior use of a neuromodulator device. Conclusions: To the best of our k.owledge, this is the first study to demonstrate a very low risk.of real-time urinary retention rates in appropriately selected patients treated with BTN/A for refractory non-neurogenic OAB outside of a clinical trial setting.

Neuroimaging has emerged over the last few decades as a crucial tool in diagnosing Alzheimer’s disease(AD).Mild cognitive impairment(MCI)is a condition that falls between the spectrum of normal cognitive function and ***,previous studies have mainly used handcrafted features to classify MCI,AD,and normal control(NC)*** paper focuses on using gray matter(GM)scans obtained through magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)for the diagnosis of individuals with MCI,AD,and *** improve classification performance,we developed two transfer learning strategies with data augmentation(i.e.,shear range,rotation,zoom range,channel shift).The first approach is a deep Siamese network.DSN),and the second approach involves using a cross-domain strategy with customized *** performed experiments on the Alzheimer’s Disease Neuroimaging Initiative(ADNI)dataset to evaluate the performance of our proposed *** experimental results demonstrate superior performance in classifying the three binary classification task.:NC ***,NC ***,and MCI ***,we achieved a classification accuracy of 97.68%,94.25%,and 92.18%for the three cases,*** study proposes two transfer learning strategies with data augmentation to accurately diagnose MCI,AD,and normal control individuals using GM *** findings provide promising results for future research and clinical applications in the early detection and diagnosis of AD.

BACk.ROUND Smartwatches have become readily accessible tools for detecting atrial fibrillation(AF).There remains limited data on how they affect psychosocial outcomes and engagement in older *** examine the health behavior outcomes of strok. survivors prescribed smartwatches for AF detection stratified by *** We analyzed data from the Pulsewatch study,a randomized controlled trial that enrolled patients(≥50 years)with a history of strok. or transient ischemic attack.and CHA2DS2-VASc≥*** participants were equipped with a cardiac patch monitor and a smartwatch-app dyad,while control participants wore the cardiac patch monitor for up to 44 *** evaluated health behavior parameters using standardized tools,including the Consumer Health Activation Index,the Generalized Anxiety Disorder questionnaire,the 12-Item Short Form Health Survey,and wear time of participants categorized into three age groups:Group 1(ages 50-60),Group 2(ages 61-69),and Group 3(ages 70-87).We performed statistical analysis using a mixedeffects repeated measures linear regression model to examine differences amongst age *** Comparative analysis between Groups 1,2 and 3 revealed no significant differences in anxiety,patient activation,perception of physical health and wear *** use of smartwatch technology was associated with a decrease in perception of mental health for Group 2 compared to Group 1(β=-3.29,P=0.046).CONCLUSION Strok. survivors demonstrated a willingness to use smartwatches for AF ***,among these study participants,the majority did not experience negative health behavior outcomes or decreased engagement as age increased.

Effects of In-Situ Cadmium Exposure on Morphometric Indices of Anabas testudineus

Anthropogenic activities have greatly affected water resources on a global scale where the world is experiencing water quality and resources issues. Heavy metal is a crucial group of pollutants that is toxic to the environment even at low concentrations due to its bioaccumulation and biomagnification capabilities in living organisms. The detrimental effects of heavy metals on living organisms are due to their bioaccumulation in the aquatic ecosystem. Cadmium may result in adverse health effects due to its high toxicity. The study is conducted to determine the cadmium exposure effects on the morphometric indices of Anabas testudineus which are the Scaling Coefficient (SC) and Condition Factor (k. of such species. Anabas testudineus is exposed to four different cadmium treatment groups namely the control group, cadmium treatment group of 0.005 mg/L, 0.010 mg/L, and 0.015 mg/L for 16 week.. The findings of the study have reported inconsistent trends in the values of SC and a decrease in the value of k.with increasing cadmium concentration. The trend for the average SC has shown an overall decrease in value while the pattern of the k.value is inconsistent in each treatment group with exposure time. Collectively, no significant differences for SC and k.of A. testudineus in different treatment groups as well as comparison between treatment groups with time exposure.

Charge-Transfer and SERS Coupling on TiO₂

We report the SERS enhancements of Raman forbidden surface modes of TiO2 in different sized TiO2 crystals. This current study utilizes the relationship between the vibronic coupling and the degree of charge-transfer to explain the differences of Surface Enhanced Raman Scattering (SERS) enhancements. Our study shows a direct correlation between the degree of charge-transfer and vibronic coupling. This relationship suggests that charge-transfer between the N-719 dye and TiO2 due to vibronic coupling plays a fundamental role in SERS enhancements. Furthermore, this study shows a strong dependence of the enhancements of the N-719 dye molecular modes to that of the surface modes. This indicates that the mechanism that governs the enhancements of the surface modes in TiO2 crystals most lik.ly also dictates the enhancements of the N-719 dyes.
