The choice of the theme is explained by the constant interest in depiction of young protagonists among writers. Works of the last decades by writers of different generations served as material for this investigation： Ermakov and Polyanskaya, Dmitriev and Prilepin, Savelyev and Levental. The aim of this work is to observe the way in which the inner world of young protagonists, their interrelations and level of self-consciousness are depicted in novels and novellas by contemporary Russian writers. Through a range of examples of a variety of conflicts, in which the characters of the young protagonists are uncovered are examined： love, extreme circumstances, and professional life. Recent works are juxtaposed with earlier ones depending on the kind of test the young protagonists are put through. This analysis allows to state that the writers are not depicting the current generations as ＂lost＂, though they highlight loss and disappointment, the conflict between perceptions cultivated by reading and real life, and between the claim to being grown up and overt immaturity.

Background： Sexual health positively correlates with overall wellbeing. Existing therapeutics to enhance male sexual health are limited by factors that include responsiveness, adherence and adverse effects. As the population ages, safe and effective interventions that preserve male sexual function are needed. Published research suggests that various preparations of Kaempferia parviflora, a plant in the Zingiberaceae （ginger） family, support cardiovascular health and may ameliorate erectile function. Objective： The aim of this study was to examine the effects of KaempMaxTM, an ethanol extract of the K. parvi]lora rhizome, on erectile function in healthy middle-aged and older men. Design, setting, participants and interventions： We conducted an open-label, one-arm study on 14 generally healthy males aged 50-68 years with self-reported mild erectile dysfunction, who were not using pre- scription treatments. Participants took 100 mg KaempMaxTM daily for 30 days. Main outcome measures： Evaluations were conducted at baseline and on the final study assessment. Primary efficacy analyses included the International Index of Erectile Function （IIEF）; secondary efficacy analyses included the Global Assessment Question about erectile function. Results： Thirteen participants completed the 30-day study. Supplementation with KaempMaxTM resulted in statistically significant improvements in erectile function, intercourse satisfaction and total scores on the IIEF questionnaire. KaempMaxTM was well tolerated and exhibited an excellent safety profile. Conclusion： Our results suggest that KaempMaxTM may improve erectile function in healthy middle-aged and older men. While the effects were not as pronounced as what might be seen with prescription med- ication, most participants found them satisfactory. AIM To establish a hypoxic environment for promoting osteogenesis in rat marrow stromal cells(MSCs) using osteogenic matrix cell sheets(OMCSs).METHODS Rat MSCs were cultured in osteogenic media under one of four varying oxygen conditions: normoxia(21% O_2) for 14 d(nn), normoxia for 7 d followed by hypoxia(5% O_2) for 7 d(nH), hypoxia for 7 d followed by normoxia for 7 d(Hn), or hypoxia for 14 d(HH). Osteogenesis was evaluated by observing changes in cell morphology and calcium deposition, and by measuring osteocalcin secretion(ELISA) and calcium content. In vivo syngeneic transplantation using OMCSs and β-tricalcium phosphate discs, preconditioned under nn or Hn conditions, was also evaluated by histology, calcium content measurements,and real-time quantitative *** In the nn and Hn groups, differentiated, cuboidal-shaped cells were readily observed, along with calcium deposits. In the Hn group, the levels of secreted osteocalcin increased rapidly from day 10 as compared with the other groups, and plateaued at day 12(P n group showed the highest amount of calcium deposition. In vivo, the Hn group showed histologically prominent new bone formation, increased calcium deposition, and higher collagen type Ⅰ?messenger RnA expression as compared with the nn *** The results of this study indicate that modifying oxygen tension is an effective method to enhance the osteogenic ability of MSCs used for OMCSs.

AIM To determine the effects of a cell sheet created from sheep bone marrow and tricalcium phosphate(TCP) on *** Bone marrow cells were harvested from a sheep and cultured in a minimal essential medium(MEM) containing ascorbic acid phosphate(AscP) and dexamethasone(Dex). After 2 wk, the formed osteogenic matrix cell sheet was lifted from the culture dish using a scraper. Additionally, harvested bone marrow cells were cultured in MEM only as a negative control group, and in MEM with AscP, Dex, and β-glycerophosphate as a positive control group. For in vitro evaluation, we measured the alkaline phosphatase(ALP) activity and osteocalcin(OC) content in the media of the cultured cells from each group. For in vivo analysis, a porous TCP ceramic was used as a scaffold. We prepared an experimental group comprising TCP scaffolds wrapped with the osteogenic matrix cell sheets and a control group consisting of the TCP scaffold only. The constructs wereimplanted subcutaneously into athymic rats and the cell donor sheep, and bone formation was confirmed by histology after 4 *** In the in vitro part, the mean ALP activity was 0.39 ± 0.03 mg/well in the negative control group, 0.67 ± 0.04 mg/well in the sheet group, and 0.65 ± 0.07 mg/well in the positive control group. The mean OC levels were 1.46 ± 0.33 ng/well in the negative control group, 3.92 ± 0.16 ng/well in the sheet group, and 4.4 ± 0.47 ng/well in the positive control group, respectively. The ALP activity and OC levels were significantly higher in the cell sheet and positive control groups than in the negative control group(P no significant difference in ALP activity or OC levels between the cell sheet group and the positive control group(P > 0.05). SOUTH Africa＇s acute incidence of HIV/AI DS is well-known globally. According to the United nations, about 6.1 million South Africans were living with HIV/ AIDS in 2012. This means that one in every six South Africans is infected and of these, 17.9 percent of indi- viduals between the ages of 15 and 49 - considered to be the most economically productive age group - are infected with HIV/AIDS. According to the World Bank, this high infection rate among the economically active population could, in the most undesirable of scenarios, result in South Africa＇s per-capita income halving by 2100. While still a few decades away, the projected adverse impact of HIV/AIDS on the South African economy has seen government embarking on the largest anti-retroviral treatment （ART） access cam- paign in the world.

The aim of this study was to investigate changes in the Autonomic nervous System (AnS) and moods before and after participation in a Mindfulness Art Therapy Short version (MATS). The study design was non-randomized controlled trial in intervention study. Participants were 10 Japanese patients with advanced cancer. They received the MATS in one session, which consisted of mindfulness practices and making arts. Their Autonomic nervous System (sympathetic nervous, parasympathetic nervous) physiologically and mood (Tense Arousal: TA, Energetic Arousal: EA) psychologically were measured before and after the MATS. The results showed that the level of parasympathetic nervous system decreased and that the sympathetic nervous system increased in small effect size. The TA decreased in a large effect size and EA increased in a middle effect size. These results suggested that the MATS might activate physiologically, alleviate tension and increase energy psychologically.
