The Coorg Block in southern Peninsular India is one of the oldest crustal blocks on Earth that preserves the evidence for continental crust formation during the Paleo-Mesoarchean through subductionrelated arc magmatism,followed by.granulite facies metamorphism in the *** this study.we report for the first time,the'bar codes'of a major Paleoproterozoic Large Igneous Province in the Coorg Block through the finding of mafic dy.e *** gabbroic dy.es from the Coorg Block,dom-inantly.composed of plagioclase-py.oxene assemblage,show a restricted range in SiO_(2)values of 50.04-51.27 wt.%,and exhibit a sub-alkaline tholeiitic *** rocks show relatively.flat LREE and constant HREE patterns and lack obvious Eu *** element modeling suggests that the dy.e swarm was fed from a melt that originated at a shallow mantle level in the spinel stability.*** grains are rare in the gabbro samples and those separated from two samples y.elded 207Pb/206Pb weighted mean dates of 2214±12 Ma and 2221±7 *** grains show magmatic features with depleted LREE and enriched HREE and positive Ce and negative Eu *** grains were dated from five gabbro samples which y.elded 207Pb/206Pb weighted mean ages ranging between 2217±7 Ma and 2228±10 *** combined data show a clear age peak at ca.2.2 *** mafic dy.es in the Coorg Block show geochemical similarities with ca.2.2 Ga mafic dy.e swarms in different regions of the Dharwar and other cratons in Peninsular India and elsewhere on the *** data also support the inference that the global mafic magmatism at ca.2.2 Ga was linked with intracontinental rifting of the Archean cratons through mantle upwelling or plume *** correlate the mafic dy.e swarms in the Coorg Block with attempted rifting of the Neoarchean supercontinent Kenorland.

A conventional electrode composite for rechargeable zinc-ion batteries(ZIBs)includes a binder for strong adhesion between the electrode material and the current ***,the introduction of a binder leads to electrochemical inactivity.and low electrical conductivity.resulting in the decay.of the capacity.and a low rate *** present a binder-and conducting agent-free VO_(2)composite electrode using in situ poly.erization of dopamine on a flexible current collector of py.oprotein-based *** as-fabricated composite electrode was used as a substrate for the direct growth of VO_(2)as a self-supported form on poly.opamine-derived py.oprotein-based fibers(pp-fibers@VO_(2)(B)).It has a high conductivity.and flexible nature as a current collector and moderate binding without conventional binders and conducting agents for the VO_(2)(B)*** addition,their electrochemical mechanism was *** energy.storage is induced by.Zn^(2+)/H^(+)coinsertion during discharging,which can be confirmed by.the lattice expansion,the formation of by.products including Zn_(x)(OTf)_(y.(OH)_(2x−y.·nH_(2)O,and the reduction of V^(4+)to V^(3+).Furthermore,the assembled Zn//pp-fibers@VO_(2)(B)pouch cells have excellent flexibility.and stable electrochemical performance under various bending states,showing application possibilities for portable and wearable power sources.

This review article provides overall understanding of stainless,environment-friendly.and nonflammable Mg alloy.(SEN alloy.)recently.developed at the Korea Institute of Materials *** alloy. are produced by.adding small amounts of Ca and y.eachy.,resulting in exceptional ignition and corrosion resistances and impressive mechanical *** main advantages of SEN alloy. are as follows.(1)A dense multi-oxide lay.r of SEN alloy. comprising MgO,CaO,and y.(2)O_(3) impedes the outward dispersion of Mg vapor and the inward penetration of O_(2) during oxidation,thereby.enhancing the oxidation and ignition resistances.(2)The presence of Ca-and y.based second-phase particles in SEN alloy. can enhance their corrosion resistance because Ca-containing particles prevent the spread of corrosion,and the replacement of Al-containing particles with less noble ones containing y.e.g.,Al–Mn–y.or Al–y.particles)retards corrosion.(3)The addition of minor amounts of Ca and y.renders excellent mechanical properties due to improved strengthening *** enhanced properties are attributed to more pronounced dy.amic recry.tallization and grain refining behaviors caused by.the second-phase particles during extrusion.(4)Despite the presence of various ty.es of second-phase particles,the fatigue properties of SEN9 alloy. are similar to those of commercial AZ91 alloy..(5)Simultaneous introduction of Ca and y.suppresses the formation of Mg17Al12 discontinuous precipitates during aging,leading to the enhanced elongation of aged SEN alloy..(6)Adding mischmetal into the SEN9 alloy.leads to a six-fold enhancement in ***,the studies conducted on SEN alloy. demonstrate their excellent ignition and corrosion resistances and mechanical properties,which broaden the industrial applications of Mg alloy. by.addressing their inherent weaknesses.

Terahertz(THz)waves,known as non-ionizing radiation owing to their low photon energies,can actually.ionize atoms and molecules when a sufficiently.large number of THz photons are concentrated in time and ***,we demonstrate the generation of ionizing,multicy.le,15-THz waves emitted from large-area lithium niobate cry.tals via phase-matched optical rectification of 150-terawatt laser pulses.A complete characterization of the generated THz waves in energy.pulse duration,and focal spot size shows that the field strength can reach up to 260 megavolts per *** particular,a single-shot THz interferometer is employ.d to measure the THz pulse duration and spectrum with complementary.numerical *** intense THz pulses are irradiated onto various solid targets to demonstrate THz-induced tunneling ionization and plasma *** study.also discusses the potential of nonperturbative THz-driven ionization in gases,which will open up new opportunities,including nonlinear and relativistic THz phy.ics in plasma.

The functionalities and diverse metastable phases of multiferroic BiFeO3(BFO)thin films depend on the misfit *** mixed phase-induced strain relaxation in multiphase BFO thin films is well known,it is unclear whether a singlecry.talline BFO thin film can accommodate misfit strain without the involvement of its ***,understanding the strain relaxation behavior is key.to elucidating the lattice strain–property.*** this study.a correlative strain analy.is based on dark-field inline electron holography.DIH)and quantitative scanning transmission electron microscopy.STEM)was performed to reveal the structural mechanism for strain accommodation of a single-cry.talline BFO thin *** nanoscale DIH strain analy.is results indicated a random combination of multiple strain states that acted as a primary.strain relief,forming irregularly.strained *** STEM-based bond length measurement of the corresponding strained nanodomains revealed a unique strain accommodation behavior achieved by.a statistical combination of multiple modes of distorted structures on the unit-cell *** globally.integrated strain for each nanodomain was estimated to be close to􀀀1.5%,irrespective of the nanoscale strain states,which was consistent with the fully.strained BFO film on the SrTiO3 *** functional theory.calculations suggested that strain accommodation by.the combination of metastable phases was energetically.favored compared to single-phase-mediated *** discovery.allows a comprehensive understanding of strain accommodation behavior in ferroelectric oxide films,such as BFO,with various low-sy.metry.poly.orphs.

Tetramic acid-containing natural products are attracting significantly.increasing attention from biologists and chemists due to their intriguing structures and biological *** the present study.two new tetramic acid alkaloids toly.y.idone I(1)and toly.y.idone J(2),together with five known ones(3–7),were isolated from cultures of a marine fungus Toly.ocladium cy.indrosporum FB06 isolate obtained from a marine sediment in Beaufort sea of North *** structures were elucidated using 1D,2D NMR,and *** configurations were established on the basis of 1H coupling constants,ROESy.correlations and DP4 *** 2 was isolated as mixtures of rotational isomers with C-3 to C-7 axis between 4-hy.roxy.2-py.idone and 1-ethy.-3,5-dimethy.cy.lohexane,hindering *** our unbiased screening to discover neuroprotective compounds in an in vitro Parkinson’s disease(PD)model,SH-Sy.y.dopaminergic cells were treated with isolated compounds followed by.treatment with 1-methy.-4-pheny.py.idinium(MPP^(+)),a parkinsonian *** tested compounds,F-14329(7)significantly.protected cells from MPP^(+)-induced ***^(+)-mediated cell death is known to be related to the regulation of Bcl-2 family.proteins,specifically.the down-regulation of anti-apoptotic Bcl-2 and the up-regulation of pro-apoptotic Bax *** with 2 mmol/L of MPP^(+)for 24 h significantly.reduced Bcl-2 levels compared to control treated with ***,treatment with F-14329(7)attenuated such *** study.demonstrates that tetramic acid-motif compounds could be potential lead compounds for treating PD.

Contemporary.operating sy.tems for single-ISA （instruction set architecture） multi-core sy.tems attempt to distribute tasks equally.among all the CPUs. This approach works relatively.well when there is no difference in CPU capability. However, there are cases in which CPU capability.differs from one another. For instance, static capability.asy.metry.results from the advent of new asy.metric hardware, and dy.amic capability.asy.metry.comes from the operating sy.tem （OS） outside noise caused from networking or I/O handling. These asy.metries can make it hard for the OS scheduler to evenly.distribute the tasks, resulting in less efficient load balancing. In this paper, we propose a user-level load balaneer for parallel applications, called the ＇capability.balancer＇, which recognizes the difference of CPU capability.and makes subtasks share the entire CPU capability.fairly. The balancer can coexist with the existing kemel-level load balancer without detrimenting the behavior of the kernel balancer. The capability.balancer can fairly.distribute CPU capability.to tasks with very.little overhead. For real workloads like the NAS Parallel Benchmark （NPB）, we have accomplished speedups of up to 9.8% and 8.5% in dy.amic and static asy.metries, respectively. We have also experienced speedups of 13.3% for dy.amic asy.metry.and 24.1% for static asy.metry.in a competitive environment. The impacts of our task selection policies, FIFO （first in, first out） and cache, were compared. The use of the cache policy.led to a speedup of 5.3% in overall execution time and a decrease of 4.7% in the overall cache miss count, compared with the FIFO policy. which is used by.default.
