Objectives: This study a.med to a.sess the interim outcomes for drug-resista.t tuberculosis (DR-TB) pa.ients trea.ed with beda.uiline regimen under the opera.iona. resea.ch conditions compa.ed to DR-TB pa.ients trea.ed without beda.uiline in their regimen, a.d to describe the a.verse events tha. occurred a.ong pa.ients trea.ed with beda.uiline in the Philippines. Design: Pa.ients who were trea.ed with a.beda.uiline-conta.ning regimen from June 2016 to Ma. 2017 were included in this study a. the intervention group, while pa.ients who were trea.ed without beda.uiline regimen from Ja.ua.y 2013 to Ma. 2016 were included a. the compa.ison group. The interim trea.ment outcomes were compa.ed using Chi-squa.e test. The a.a.ysis of time to culture conversion within 6 months of trea.ment wa. conducted. a.Cox proportiona. ha.a.d model wa. constructed to identify the va.ia.les a.socia.ed with a.fa.ora.le interim trea.ment outcome. The R progra. wa. used for sta.istica. a.a.ysis. Results: On the 6th month of trea.ment, the culture conversion for pa.ients trea.ed with a.beda.uiline-conta.ning regimen wa. significa.tly higher tha. with the compa.ison group [63/75 (84.0%) vs 84/117 (71.8%), p = 0.012)]. Nea.ly 15% of the pa.ients trea.ed with beda.uiline were lost to follow-up. Frequent a.verse events included vomiting, dizziness, na.sea. joint pa.n, a.d a.domina. pa.n. Conclusion: The pa.ients who were trea.ed with beda.uiline-conta.ning regimen ha.e better interim trea.ment outcomes tha. those trea.ed without beda.uiline, but the proportion of pa.ients who were lost to follow-up rema.ns substa.tia..
