Optimal Unit Commitment with Renewable Energy in Regulated and Deregulated Systems

In this paper, the impact of.the wind power generation system on the total cost and prof.t of.the system is studied by using the proposed procedure of.binary Sine Cosine (BSC) optimization algorithm with optimal priority list (OPL) algorithm. As well, investigate the advantages of.system transf.rmation f.om a regulated system to a deregulated system and the dif.erence in the objective f.nctions of.the two systems. The suggested procedure is carried out in two parallel algorithms;The goal of.the f.rst algorithm is to reduce the space of.searching by using OPL, while the second algorithm adjusts BSC to get the optimal economic dispatch with minimum operation cost of.the unit commitment (UCP) problem in the regulated system. But, in the deregulated system, the second algorithm adopts the BSC technique to f.nd the optimal solution to the prof.t-based unit commitment problem (PBUCP), through the f.st of.researching the BSC technique. The proposed procedure is applied to IEEE 10-unit test system integrated with the wind generator system. While the second is an actual system in the Egyptian site at Hurghada. The results of.this algorithm are compared with previous literature to illustrate the ef.iciency and capability of.this algorithm. Based on the results obtained in the regulated system, the suggested procedure gives better results than the algorithm in previous literature, saves computational ef.orts, and increases the ef.iciency of.the output power of.each unit in the system and lowers the price of.kWh. Besides, in the deregulated system the prof.t is high and the system is more reliable.

Ef.ect of.Supportive Measures Guidelines on Nurses’ Practices during Labor

Objectives: To investigate the ef.ect of.supportive measures guidelines on nurses’ practices during labor. Methods: A quasi-experimental design (an interventional pre and post-test study). Setting: The study was conducted at obstetric wards and intrapartum units at Nasser Institute Hospital. Sample: All nurses provide guided direct care, there were 40 nurses included in the study. Tools: Three tools were used to collect data named self.administered questionnaire sheet, labor supportive measures’ observational checklists, and nurses’ satisf.ction sheet. Results: There was a highly signif.cant improvement in total knowledge and total practical skills among the studied sample pre-intervention compared to immediate post and f.llow-up intervention (p ≤ 0.01). Additionally, 95% of.the studied sample was satisf.ed with the advanced knowledge included in the guidelines. Conclusion: The supportive measures guidelines had an ef.icient improving nurses’ knowledge and practices post-intervention. Also, the majority of.the studied sample was satisf.ed with the implemented guidelines. Recommendations: Implementation of.labor supportive measure guidelines in dif.erent childbirth units to improve nurses’ practice. f.rther research is required to investigate parturient woman’s satisf.ction with the childbirth process af.er implementing labor supportive measures and the ef.ect of.labor supportive measures on childbirth process outcome.

Evaluation of.Al and Some of.Its Alloys as Anode Materials vs γ-MnO_2 as Cathode Material and Ore Produced γ-MnO_2 vs Zn Anode in KOH Solution

In this study electrochemical perf.rmance of.Al and some of.its alloys （Al-Zn, Al-rvlg and Al-rvln） anodes vs MnO2 cathode were carried out in alkaline solution. The results show that the Al-Zn alloy anode has the best cell capacity among the other alloys. Cell capacity values go in the order Al-Zn〉Al-Mg〉Al〉Al-Mn. This result is probably related to the nature of.passive f.lms f.rmed on the surf.ce of.the alloys which examined by scanning electron microscopy （SEM）. SEM morphologies of.Al and its alloys showed coarse grains of.passive f.lms f.rmed on the surf.ce of.these anode materials while Al-Mn morphology shows a needle-like structure. Electrolytic manganese dioxide （EMD） produced by electrodepositing on platinum anode f.om liquor resulting f.om reduction of.low grade pyrolusite ore （β-MnO2） by sulf.r slag was characterized as cathode in alkaline Zn-MnO2 batteries. Ore produced sample （EMD1） was perf.rmed well in comparison with EMD standard （EMD2）（commercial battery grade electrolytic manganese dioxide, TOSOH-Hellas GH-S）. SEM morphology of.Zn anode af.er cell reaction was carried out and showed that Zn anode has f.ne grains of.passive f.lm on its surf.ce.

Thermomechanical Analysis of.(Cu_(0.5)Tl_(0.5))-1223 Substituted by Pr and La

The thermomechanical analysis （TMA） of.Cu0.5T10.5Ba2Ca2-xRxCu30110-δ, where R=Pr and La, with 0.0〈x〈0.15, was carried out in temperature range f.om 450 to 1145 K. The samples were prepared by singlestep solid state reaction technique. The prepared samples were characterized by X-ray dif.raction （XRD） and scanning electron microscopy （SEM）. The superconductivity of.the prepared samples was investigated by electrical resistivity measurement. The results showed that low substitution content enhanced the （Cu0.5Tlo.5）- 1223 phase f.rmation, while the higher substitution content degraded this phase. The higher superconducting transition temperatures Tc were f.und to be 114 K and 109 K at x= 0.025 f.r Pr- and La-substitutions, respectively. The average linear thermal expansion coef.icient increased as x increased, while the shrinkage temperature decreased as x increased. Those results were emphasized by porosity and Vickers microhardness calculations. Debye temperature 0D was calculated f.om the linear thermal expansion coef.icient data and correlated to Tc to estimate the electron-phonon coupling λep.

Superconducting parameter determination f.r (Co0.5Zn0.5f.2O4)x/Cu0.5Tl0.5-1223 composite

The addition of.magnetic Co0.5Zn0.5f.2O4 nanoparticles to the superconducting Cu0.5Tl0.5-1223 phase has been used to investigate the electrical resistivity behavior of.the composite above the superconducting transition temperature T c. This was studied according to the opening of.spin gap and f.uctuation conductivity. The results indicated that the pseudogap temperature (T*) and superconducting f.uctuation temperature (T scf. change by increasing the addition of.Co0.5Zn0.5f.2O4 nanoparticles. It was f.und that T* is related to hole carrier concentration P and it also depends on the antif.rromagnetic f.uctuation af.ected by magnetic nanoparticles. The excess-conductivity analysis showed f.ur dif.erent f.uctuation regions started f.om high temperature up to T c, and they were denoted by short wave (sw), two-dimensional (2D), three-dimensional (3D), and critical (cr) f.uctuations. The crossover temperature between 3D and 2D (T 3D–2D) in the mean f.eld region was decreased by increasing the addition of.Co0.5Zn0.5f.2O4 nanoparticles, in accordance with the decrease in T scf.with x. The coherence length at 0 K along c-axis ξ c(0), ef.ective layer thickness of.the 2D system d, and inter-layer coupling strength J were estimated as a f.nction of.Co0.5Zn0.5f.2O4 nanoparticle addition. Moreover, the thermodynamics, lower and upper critical magnetic f.elds, as well as critical current density have been calculated f.om the Ginzburg number N G. It was f.und that the low concentration of.Co0.5Zn0.5f.2O4 nanoparticles up to x = 0.08 wt% improves the superconducting parameters of.Cu0.5Tl0.5-1223 phase. On the contrary, these parameters were deteriorated f.r (Co0.5Zn0.5f.2O4) x /Cu0.5Tl0.5-1223 composite with x > 0.08 wt%.

Recently, governments and public authorities in most countries had to f.ce the outbreak of.COVID-19 by adopting a set of.policies. Consequently, some countries have succeeded in minimizing the number of.conf.rmed cases while the outbreak in other countries has led to their healthcare systems breakdown. In this work, we introduce an ef.icient f.amework called COMAP (COrona MAP), aiming to study and predict the behavior of.COVID-19 based on deep learning techniques. COMAP consists of.two stages: clustering and prediction. The f.rst stage proposes a new algorithm called Co-means, allowing to group countries having similar behavior of.COVID-19 into clusters. The second stage predicts the outbreak’s growth by introducing two adopted versions of.LSTM and Prophet applied at country and continent scales. The simulations conducted on the data collected by WHO demonstrated the ef.iciency of.COMAP in terms of.returning accurate clustering and predictions.

Microbial f.el cells(M f.s)represent a new approach f.r treating w aste w ater along w ith electricity *** present study addressed electricity production f.om domestic w astew ater using a mediator-less double chamber M *** electricity production w as monitored under dif.erent operational conditions f.r both summer and w inter *** of.the anodic and cathodic chambers resulted in a maximal current of.0.784 and 0.645 m A w ith the maximal pow er intensity of.209 and 117 m W/m2in pow er duration of.24 h f.r the summer and w inter samples,*** electron microscopy show ed that the bacterial biof.lm f.rmation on the anode w as denser f.r the summer sample than that w hen the w inter sample w as used,so w as the total bacterial ***,samples taken during summer w ere considered better in electricity production and w aste w ater treatment than those taken during w inter basically because of.the high microbial load during the hot *** parallel,there w as a decrease in both biological oxygen demand(BOD5)and chemical oxygen demand(COD)values which reached 71.8%and 72.85%,respectively at the end of.the operation process f.r the summer sample,w hile there w as no evident decrease f.r the w inter *** the operating conditions not only increased the potential of.using domestic w aste w ater in microbial f.el cells to produce electricity,but also improved the quality of.the domestic w aste w ater.

The present study, which aims to contribute to the valorization of.Capsicum chinense, f.cuses on ethnobotanical investigations and evaluation of.insecticidal activity on Sitophilus zeamaïs and Aphis craccivora, as well as the germination power of.inf.cted maize and peanut grains treated and not treated with Capsicum chinense leaf.powder. To do this, the moisture content of.corn and peanuts was determined by the techniques: drying in the sun and in the oven. The insecticidal ef.ect of.the powder was tested on maize and peanut kernels inf.cted by the AGRAR (2013) method, f.llowed by a test of.the germination potency of.these treated grains. The average moisture values of.corn and groundnut kernels are 14.51% and 12.25% respectively. The results show, a higher insecticidal ef.icacy of.Capsicum chinense leaf.powder on Sitophilus zeamaïs and Aphis craccivora with doses (2, 4 and 8 g). The average germination rates of.maize and peanut kernels inf.cted and treated with this powder are: (16.5%;63%;99.5%) and (21.25%;96.5%;99.75%), respectively. This study could be a bio-insecticide alternative f.r the peasant community in the conservation of.cereal and legume products.
