治疗病毒性结膜炎引起的泪小点闭塞（英文）

目的:评估以不同的方法治疗病毒性结膜炎并发症泪小点及泪小管闭塞的疗效。方法:此回顾性群组研究共纳入35例临床确诊为感染病毒性结膜炎的患者,经治疗后完全缓解,4wk后并发泪小点闭塞。本研究采用了泪小点扩张术,穿孔硅胶泪小点栓子植入术,和mini-monoka硅胶管植入术对该35例泪小点闭塞患者进行治疗。结果:首先,单独采用泪小点扩张术对所有35例患者进行治疗,其中只有6例患者(17.14%)取得了满意的疗效。其次,采用穿孔泪小点栓子植入术对上述采用泪小点扩张术无效的患者进行治疗,有20例(57.14%)患者取得了较好的疗效。最后,采用mini-monoka管植入术对上述两种治疗方案都无效的患者进行治疗,有9例(25.71%)患者的病情取得了重大的改善。另外,通过对上述病例进行统计分析,结果表明该疾病的严重程度与minimonoka管的使用和是否双眼同时患病或者和上、下泪小点同时闭塞并无关联。结论:运用穿孔硅胶泪小点栓子能够有效治疗由病毒性结膜炎引起的泪小点闭塞。对分别经泪小点扩张术和穿孔硅胶泪小点栓子植入术治疗无效的患者,可采用minimonoka管植入术以取得良好的治疗效果。

AIm:To share the results of a national screening program for amblyopia in school children in the north of ***:This is a prospective national screening study for *** program rolls first and second-grade children(6 to 7 years old) in the north of *** eye examination included:best-corrected visual acuity,cover-uncover test,and cycloplegic *** visual acuity was tested using an ETDRS visual acuity chart without ***,children were tested with full cycloplegic refraction when the test criteria were *** amblyopia was defined as a best-corrected visual acuity difference of 2 or more *** comparison,bilateral amblyopia was defined as a best-corrected visual acuity of 20/40 or worse in the best ***:The prevalence of amblyopia for the total sample tested(n=17 203) was 2.78%(n=479).The most common cause of amblyopia was hypermetropia(64.45%),followed by previous ocular surgeries(15.1%),myopia(10.43%),strabismus(9.39%),and congenital cataract(0.63%).CONCLUSION:This is the first and only study,identifing modifiable risk factors in Jordanian children with *** their first couple of years of elementary education,many Jordanian children are affected by amblyopia and pass unnoticed.A more governmental effort is needed into screening programs to improve vision in the Jordanian population.

Increasing plant density and improving N fertilizer rate along with the use of high density-tolerant genotypes would lead to maximizing maize(Zea mays L.) grain productivity per unit land area. The objective of this investigation was to match the functions of optimum plant density and adequate nitrogen fertilizer application to produce the highest possible yields per unit area with the greatest maize genotype efficiency. Six maize inbred lines differing in tolerance to low N and high density(D) [three tolerant(T); L-17, L-18, L-53,and three sensitive(S); L-29, L-54, L-55] were chosen for diallel crosses. Parents and crosses were evaluated in the 2012 and 2013 seasons under three plant densities: low(47,600),medium(71,400), and high(95,200) plants ha-1and three N fertilization rates: low(no N addition), medium(285 kg N ha-1) and high(570 kg N ha-1). The T × T crosses were superior to the S × S and T × S crosses under the low N–high D environment in most studied traits across seasons. The relationships between the nine environments and grain yield per hectare(GYPH) showed near-linear regression functions for inbreds L54, L29, and L55 and hybrids L18 × L53 and L18 × L55 with the highest GYPH at a density of47,600 plants ha-1and N rate of 570 kg N ha-1and a curvilinear relationship for inbreds L17, L18, and L53 and the rest of the hybrids with the highest GYPH at a density of95,200 plants ha-1combined with an N rate of 570 kg N ha-1. Cross L17 × L54 gave the highest grain yield in this study under both high N–high-D(19.9 t ha-1) and medium N–high-D environments(17.6 t ha-1).

Role of bevacizumab intraocular injection in the management of neovascular glaucoma

AIm:To assess the long-term effects of intraocular bevacizumab(Avastin)injections as an adjunctive drug to manage patients with neovascular glaucoma(NVG).mETHODS:A retrospective study was conducted consisting of 34 eyes with secondary NVG caused by proliferative diabetic retinopathy(n=25),ischemic central retinal vein occlusion(n=8),and retinal ischemia resulting from persistent detachment(n=1)were managed by intraocular injections of bevacizumab(1.25 mg/0.05 m L),in addition to other *** main outcome measure was the change in the degree of iris *** outcomes included intraocular pressure and the number of additional interventions or antiglaucoma medications administered after ***:all patients were followed-up for at least 12 *** the last follow-up,complete regression of rubeosis irides was detectable in 13(38.2%)eyes and incomplete regression in 21 eyes(61.8%).The mean intraocular pressure was 45.32±7.185 mm Hg at baseline and significantly decreased to 26.15±5.679 mm Hg at the last follow-up visit(P=0.000005).Patients received an average of 4.97 *** additional treatments,12 eyes(35%)received laser photocoagulation and 6 eyes(18%)underwent *** further treatment was needed in 16 eyes(47.1%).CONCLUSION:Intravitreal bevacizumab injection can have a favorable effect in controlling intraocular pressure and pain control in patients with NVG because it decreases the angiogenesis and helps to augment the results of conventional *** primary cause of retinal ischemia should be always targeted.

The increasing number of security holes in the Internet of Things(IoT)networks creates a question about the reliability of existing network intrusion detection *** problem has led to the developing of a research area focused on improving network-based intrusion detection system(NIDS)*** to the analysis of different businesses,most researchers focus on improving the classification results of NIDS datasets by combining machine learning and feature reduction ***,these techniques are not suitable for every type of *** light of this,whether the optimal algorithm and feature reduction techniques can be generalized across various datasets for IoT networks *** paper aims to analyze the methods used in this research and whether they can be generalized to other *** mL models were used in this study,namely,logistic regression(LR),decision trees(DT),Naive Bayes(NB),random forest(RF),K-nearest neighbors(KNN),and linear *** primary detection algorithms used in this study,Principal Component(PCA)and Gini Impurity-Based Weighted Forest(GIWRF)evaluated against three global ToN-IoT datasets,UNSW-NB15,and Bot-IoT *** optimal number of dimensions for each dataset was not studied by applying the PCA *** is stated in the paper that the selection of datasets affects the performance of the FE techniques and detection algorithms *** the efficiency of this research area requires a comprehensive standard feature set that can be used to improve quality over time.
