Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis（alS）is a devastating neurodegenerative disorder characterized by loss of upper and lower motor *** mechanisms contribute to the disease initiation and progression,including mitochondrial dysfunction which has been proposed to be a central determinant in alS ***,while mitochondrial defects have been mainly described in alS-linked SOD1 mutants,it is now well established that mitochondria become also dysfunctional in other alS *** such context,the mitochondrial quality control system.allows to restore normal functioning of mitochondria and to prevent cell death,by both eliminating and replacing damaged mitochondrial components or by degrading the entire organelle through *** evidence shows that alS-related genes interfere with the mitochondrial quality control *** review highlights how ineffective mitochondrial quality control may render motor neurons defenseless towards the accumulating mitochondrial damage in alS.

Landslide detection is a hot topic in the remote sensing community,particularly with the current rapid growth in volume(and variety)of Earth observation data and the substantial progress of computer *** learning algorithms,especially fully convolutional networks(FCNs),and variations like the ResU-Net have been used recently as rapid and automatic landslide detection *** FCNs have shown cutting-edge results in automatic landslide detection,accuracy can be improved by adding prior knowledge through possible *** study evaluates a rulebased object-based image analysis(OBIA)approach built on probabilities resulting from the ResU-Net model for landslide *** train the ResU-Net model using a landslide dataset comprising landslide inventories from various geographic regions,including our study area and test the testing area not used for *** the OBIA stage,we frst calculate land cover and image difference indices for pre-and post-landslide multi-temporal ***,we use the generated indices and the resulting ResU-Net probabilities for image segmentation;the extracted landslide object candidates are then optimized using rule-based *** the result validation section,the landslide detection of the proposed integration of the ResU-Net with a rule-based classification of OBIA is compared with that of the ResU-Net *** proposed approach improves the mean intersection-over-union of the resulting map from the ResU-Net by more than 22%.

align:justify;"> mily:Verdana;">Eye and/or orbit involvement occurs in Granulomatosis with polyangiitis (GPA) patients frequently. The aim of our study was to describe the clinical manifestations, therapy and outcome of ocular involvement in our GPA patients. A retrospective study was conducted including patients with GPA who followed up in Rheumatology clinics during 1990-2016 at King Khalid University Hospital, Riyadh. Information relating to demographics, ocular manifestations, laboratory findings, therapy and outcome of GPA patients were noted. Ocular involvement was detected in 9 (39.1%) of the 23 GPA cases identified. The mean age of ocular GPA patients was 51.8 (range 27 - 62) years, the mean age at onset of disease was 39.6 (range 11 - 57) years and the mean duration of disease was 9.0 (range 2 - 19) years. Concomitant ear, nose, throat and sino-nasal manifestations occurred with ocular symptoms in 77.8% GPA patients. The most frequent manifestations were, eye pain (66.7%), scleritis/episcleritis (55.6%), eye redness and itching (55.6% each). Antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies (ANCA) were positive in 88.9% patients, 55.6% had c-ANCA and 33.3% had p-ANCA. Infections were observed in 22.2% of patients, which included pneumonia in one patient and esophageal candidiasis and bacterial meningitis in another. all patients received oral prednisolone, 44.4% received intravenous cyclophosphamide, 22.2% refractory cases received rituximab doses and the disease outcome was good. Comparison of ocular GPA with non-ocular GPA patients showed that 77.8% of ocular GPA patients had concomitant sino-nasal symptoms compared to 42.9% in non-ocular GPA patients and 22.2% of the ocular GPA patients had renal involvement compared to 64.3% in non-ocular GPA patients (p = 0.049). We found that the frequency of ocular manifestations in our GPA patients was similar to reports elsewhere, and the most frequent symptom was eye pain and scleritis/epi

The effects of the mold preheating and the silicon content of ductile iron on the percentage of carbides,graphite nodule counts and shrinkage volume were *** results showed that the percentage of carbides and the shrinkage volume decreased when the mold preheating *** ductile iron with the carbon equivalent of 4.45 % and the silicon content of 2.5% without any porosity defects was achieved when the mold preheating was 450 ℃.Increasing the silicon content in the range of 2.1%-3.3% led to the increase in graphite nodule count and graphite size and the decrease in percentage of *** is due to the increase in induced expansion pressure during the graphite formation with the increasing of silicon *** suitable condition for casting a sound product of ductile iron without the riser at the mold preheating temperature of 300 ℃ is the silicon content of 3.3% and carbon equivalent of 4.7%.

The removal of the binder from the powder compacts (debinding) can be a slow step and a source of problems. To improve the debinding process of powder injection molding operation, it’s necessary to understand the thermal and mechanical properties of powder injection molding feedstocks and to find the major causes responsible for molding difficulties and compacts shape retention during debinding process. The effects of thermo mechanical properties of the PIm feedstock on the compacts shape retention during debinding process were discussed and explained from practical point of view. The results indicate that the heat of fusion affects the cooling time. The binder component with high heat of fusion and high decomposed temperature is more effective as the second binder component for the compact to retain its shape during debinding.

The multi-robot systems(mRS)exploration and fire searching problem is an important application of mobile robots which require massive computation capability that exceeds the ability of traditional mRS′*** paper propose a cloud-based hybrid decentralized partially observable semi-markov decision process(HDec-POSmDPs)*** proposed model is implemented for mRS exploration and fire searching application based on the Internet of things(IoT)cloud robotics *** this implementation the heavy and expensive computational tasks are offloaded to the cloud *** proposed model achieves a significant improvement in the computation burden of the whole task relative to a traditional *** proposed model is applied to explore and search for fire objects in an unknown environment;using different sets of robots *** preliminary evaluation of this implementation demonstrates that as the parallelism of computational instances increase the delay of new actuation commands which will be decreased,the mean time of task completion is decreased,the number of turns in the path from the start pose cells to the target cells is minimized and the energy consumption for each robot is reduced.

Crowd management and analysis(CmA)systems have gained a lot of interest in the vulgarization of unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs)*** tracking using UAVs is among the most important services provided by a *** this paper,we studied the periodic crowd-tracking(PCT)*** consists in usingUAVs to follow-up crowds,during the life-cycle of an open crowded area(OCA).Two criteria were considered for this *** first is related to the CmA initial investment,while the second is to guarantee the quality of service(QoS).The existing works focus on very specified assumptions that are highly committed to CmAs applications *** study outlined a new binary linear programming(BLP)model to optimally solve the PCT motivated by a real-world application study taking into consideration the high level of *** closely approach different real-world contexts,we carefully defined and investigated a set of parameters related to the OCA characteristics,behaviors,and theCmAinitial infrastructure investment(e.g.,UAVs,charging stations(CSs)).In order to periodically update theUAVs/crowds andUAVs/CSs assignments,the proposed BLP was integrated into a linear algorithm called PCTs *** main objective was to study the PCT problem fromboth theoretical and numerical *** prove the PCTs solver effectiveness,we generated a diversified set of PCTs instances with different scenarios for simulation *** empirical results analysis enabled us to validate the BLPmodel and the PCTs solver,and to point out a set of new challenges for future research directions.
